Gulf Countries Review Investments After US -Iran Conflict.

Hey everyone i hope u all doing well i wanted to talk about something big happening with the Gulf states. They are under serious financial pressure because of the ongoing U.S Israeli war against Iran. As a result these Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia UAE and Qatar are starting to review their overseas investments. They are looking closely at their business deals contracts and even sports sponsorships they are trying to figure out how to cut back and protect their budgets. This is a huge shift especially after Trump’s visit last year when they pledged  approximately 3.6 trillions dollars to invest in the U.S economy. Now a top Emirati businessman Khalaf al-Habtoor called out Trump directly on social media. He asked Who gave you the right to drag our region into this war. Where did all the billions we invested go are we funding peace or war? It is a wake up call and I am really curious what do you all think. How will these moves affect Gulf-U.S relations long term?

As far as wisdom of leaders of GCC is concerned, I don't think they have any. If they have some wisdom then they would not have allowed US to establish its military bases in their countries. UAE which was proud of its skyscrapers buildings and security provided by local police is helpless in stopping missiles coming from Iran.  Now Iran is targeting GCC because US is attacking Iran from these countries and if Iran came out victorious or at least survived this war then GCC future will be jeopardise.

Maybe it's about time they start thinking that investing in the military and arms is way more important than the flashy skyscrapers and tourist destinations. Without security, the skyscrapers can turn into piles of rubble in no time. There will be no tourism they keep boasting about.

I can't understand how they even let the US set up military bases all over their countries and seas after the US invaded and massacred their brothers in Iraq, Afghanistan and many other Asian states. The US has been colonising them and they have been so blinded by the billions in USD

It's a normal thing that we expect a cut from some of the budget they have already made because of this ongoing war, most of the economic activities are being placed on stand-still, which will definitely affect some of their budget as they might have planned in the past, there's not how we can expect things like this to happen because the consequences is going to be much more bigger than we expected as everyone is affected already.

As for the countries like the UAE, I start to see that people are too panicking about them who are not in the country. There are advisories that they're just fine and people are continuing with their lives. And so, I think that the media plays a huge part in it and as for the investments there, they have more than what we can think of. But to build more military assets after they have invested with a lot of infrastructures for businesses, that's what they need to prioritize after this war ends. Maybe they have already foreseen it but AFAIK, the neighboring countries there are friendly to each other for most except for the few. They need to renew some treaty so that none of them will be affected with other nations conflict meddling with the US bases there. I think the whole point of it is the trigger that the USA did and that's why their bases are being attacked.

This kind of situation shows how money and politics are connected because when the tension raises in a region even those that are strong in partnership will be affected because in this kind of situation every country will be looking if way to protect their own economy

All I have to say is that the gulf countries will learn how to or they will likely become more careful on the kind of place they put their money that don't mean that the relationship they have with the U. S will end, but they can start spreading their investments so that the crisis won't affect everything at once. In this kind of global issues long term interest and trust is always under pressure

The truth about this war many involved have not tell all the true story, gulf countries could be bitter with this affecting them as it's unplanned before them but the action of Iran show that them too are under impression by their fellow gulf nation if Iran can attack them without considering their regional bond. Anything happens in war losses in both sides gulf nation know what they want and should work it out US still want to keep the position as world power and wouldn't like any competition around seen Iran waxing strong is really a threat that's why they are taking the measure to avoid regret in future.

If the conflict continues, it makes sense that the gulf countries would just have to have a review of their strategic investments because war and instability surely makes governments of any progressive or developed nation more careful with money, especially when they have large investments across other nations. So, countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar that make it as an habit to invest globally, they will naturally want to protect their budgets if tensions in the region escalate beyond control. But it does not mean that they will stop investing, but they may decide to slow down or become more selective in their investment mentality.

Besides the investments away from home, I see this to be an opportunity for the Gulf countries to have new bilateral understandings which should be a win win for themselves and they can actually stop this "WAR" among themselves and squeeze out the USA from getting their hands on the OIL which it so much needs.. and btw should these guys pull out their investments from the US, I think the dollar is cooked and all currencies will gain over it.

Technology has made everything open to everyone's eyes why in Earth would Donald Trump asked the innocent American soldiers to fight for Israel when the fight should be left for Israel to fight their own fight. I am not a fan of war and that is why I will never support anyone that is trying to motivate people to fight and create unnecessary violence. Well I think I agree with you over a proposal of a new deal to suit the current situation that's if it's even necessary to still uphold any deal than terminating it completely, since this war wasn't part of what they signed for. One would wonder if Trump is answerable to the beck and call of Netanyahu to do his bid, almost hard to differentiate who's a puppet to who among them. At this point I wouldn't blame Iran for trying to defend it territory as would do any nation that ain't scared of any pick on country.

Not a nightmare for all but I think it is hot and terrifying for those who are not benefiting from his regime. However, Trump leadership might actually look like a tyrant with how he had engaged his priorities as the US President with the structures of conflicts that are not negotiated without global panics.

As for the Arab countries or any geopolitical regions to cut off alliance with the United States over the presidency global attributes as it destabilizes their national economy values could of course linger to global alarm but could that cal Trump to order?

Trump is unpredictable and any nation cutting of deal with them all just because the don't want to be dragged into unjust crisis could lead to Trump going against them, he (Trump) would definitely have excuses of why he must invade them because all of these political elites in their various countries also have mess that even the law can justify his actions on them (if he turns against them) such as the Arab nations.

Don't forget that politics is a game and he still have the leadership power to dominate others.

These Gulf nations have not realised that it will be better to promote peace among neighbouring countries than to rely on the US for security. If these nations hadn't allowed the US to build military bases in their territory, they would have avoided these attacks. Iran has the right to attack any nation that is serving as a base to launch missiles at Iran.

Arab nations have been fooled by Trump, who has promised them security. The war have defastated the economy of the Middle East that it would take a long time to recover from the financial and other losses.

In my opinion, they do not need to invest heavily in the military and weapons, which would only increase tensions in the region. Instead, they simply need to reconsider their strategic relationships, especially their relationship with the United States. Do not become slaves or accomplices to the US in waging unnecessary wars in their region against their own brothers.

The US initiated the war for its own benefit, but now the Gulf states are bearing the consequences.
