Hello,
I'd like to share my experience with Freewallet. I have an account there that I created in 2017 using my email address.
On January 16, 2026, I tried to send my Ethereum. Up until then, I hadn't made any transactions, and it's highly unlikely that any suspicious activity was involved. When I then attempted to make a transaction, I received the message: "Unsuccessful, Account suspended, please contact support." After contacting support, I received an email stating that my wallet had been suspended due to suspicious activity. I was then asked to prove the origin of my funds, provide my ID, all utility bills, proof of all transactions, verify my identity, answer numerous questions, and upload a selfie – a considerable amount of information. I submitted all of this and received two appointments for video ID verification at midnight and 5:00 AM. I was online twice at the appointment they gave me, but the Freewallet team wasn't. It was quite frustrating waiting for the video call arranged by Freewallet, but I tried to resolve the issue.
Now I've been told I have to pay a fee of £2,500.00 to release all blocks in other areas and unlock the account. UPDATE: this was a scamer who predended to be from Freewallet on Teams.
So far, I've answered all your questions and tried to be cooperative. Unlocking an account a few years ago was free and that's also an international standard.
I want my account unlocked, not paid. Furthermore, Freewallet has already deducted enough Ethereum from my account through inactivity fees.
This is just an attempt to expedite the process; perhaps someone from Freewallet is reading this.
What I don't like is that it would be better if they asked for ID and a selfie during registration, instead of deciding at their own discretion.
My Freewallet ticket number is 618474 Freewallet Wallet ID: f185a6c9
