For a long period of time I knew about bitcoin but the question is "what do you know about bitcoin" sometimes people do get the wrong knowledge/information about the right way at which the product as it may be works, making them not to take the item serious
secondly the person who introduced you to bitcoin will be like an adviser pertaining on how to invest and manege your earnings, most people knew bitcoin through  ads and doesn't really knows how to invest or know the main purpose of the coin and might not know, else someone who knows better teaches them what it means to buy, to mine, to hold and also to trade

I never heard or saw a Bitcoin ads, and Satoshi never used any ad networks to promote Bitcoin. You might be talking about other coins, not Bitcoin. Usually most of the ads I see on social media and YouTube are for tokens and memes, not real coins, but any layer 2 coins.
They indeed mention Bitcoin, but they are not promoting Bitcoin; instead, they promote their meme or tokens.

My first experience learning about Bitcoin was through faucets, where you can claim Bitcoin for free by solving the captcha, until I was scammed by someone and some investment sites. I brought myself here on the forum and learned more about Bitcoin. It was started in 2014, and I know many things about Bitcoin.

The few times I saw  and listened to an ad promoting Bitcoin was from a scammer. Someone had sent me the audio and the rubbish writeup that followed it, claiming bitcoin helps you double your capital in few minutes. I was shocked Someone could make Bitcoin seem so strange to me. It was so good to be true that even if I'd never known Bitcoin my entire life, I will find it difficult believing in an investment that promises double my capital in seconds.

Simply put, Bitcoin is a currency built by Satoshi, which has a decentralized, free and very safe system without third party control.
With bitcoin we can transact across continents easily, quickly and transparently, this is proof of a currency revolution full of inflation and control, with bitcoin you don't have to worry about value depreciation.
As time goes by, Bitcoin has become an alternative investment for most people who know about it because adoption continues to increase so that the value of Bitcoin continues to increase over time, and there are many more that I need to note, but this is a simple summary for you. maybe it could be wrong.

Bitcoin is digital currency, have its own blockchain, it can be mined and the token supply is capped, Satoshi created it, and it is decentralized, no central authority could control it unless they have a lot of bitcoins in their wallet and they sell and buy, so bro this way they can manipulate the price but they can't control or manage anything in the bitcoin.

Fundamentally, Bitcoin was created as an alternative currency, usable by everyone worldwide, without restrictions, without third parties, and completely decentralized. I doubt you could travel to every country relying solely on your own currency. Now, Bitcoin is gaining recognition worldwide. Its use as a medium of exchange is very easy, and its scarcity makes it a viable long-term investment. All of these factors make it increasingly popular among various groups (from the lower, middle, and upper classes). Personally, I believe the biggest obstacle to Bitcoin growth is the restrictive regulations of countries, such as my own, which doesn't allow it as a medium of exchange. If Bitcoin were to become legal tender worldwide, I believe people would choose to use it over fiat.

By the way, Whenever people ask me about Bitcoin, I usually explain its purpose, how to use it, and then explain how it will be valuable in the long run. All this time, my approach has made people more interested in Bitcoin. Cmiiw.

I invest in Bitcoin based on what I know about it, because Bitcoin eliminates future economic deprivation, Bitcoin is free, Bitcoin is the most silent, but there are many other reasons why investing in Bitcoin is a good idea based on all these reasons. I never heard an ad about Bitcoin, but one thing is for sure, people like Bitcoin and want to have it for profit.  I think the majority think this way, how to make a profit with Bitcoin, and forget the main purpose for which Bitcoin was created.  The main reason was to be a payment option that can be used for transactions across the world.

Same here. The boosted ads we see on social media usually are for centralized exchanges or shitcoins. No one needs to pay for ads for bitcoin. Its community is enough to keep it boosted.

Of course you are right, bitcoin white paper always seems to be boring, however not only bitcoin white paper but I guess all white paper seems to be boring to me and it felt like waste of time to me because no offense but I don’t to much fancy reading lol only when necessary and very important.

You did provide a positive source to learn about bitcoin and understands more about bitcoin and the OP and many others who might be new to the community or new to bitcoin will always finds it very helpful and interesting to read because I went through the link it was quite informative and simple to understand and with the help of the image cartons apply to it which makes it more interesting and easier to learn.

It's fine to come across the bitcoin on random social media post but once the person thinks that they have to add this into their portfolio needs to do their research on their own, which can be reading simple article about bitcoin or end up registering on bitcointalk but they need to make the effort but people who doesn't do that are in a hurry to make quick money but always end up on the other side and blame bitcoin for their ignorance.

Honestly, I was attracted to a few investments before other people said they were legit. But for the cloud mining site and investment site, I no longer allow them to withdraw our funds. At first experience, they allow us to withdraw, but for the 2nd attempt, all withdrawals are stuck forever.
It's attractive at first, honestly. That makes me believe the site is legit, and I end up adding more BTC because I don't want to miss an opportunity, but they are a scam.

The person who introduces you to bitcoin could also be the person to scam you; unfortunately, this is why you need to still be cautious.

Not everyone who introduces you to Bitcoin has good intentions for you; there are many people who have been scammed by the person who introduced them to Bitcoin. This was really rampant during the time when investment scams were a trend. Many new people were lured to bitcoin and introduced to fake investment platforms.

Yea, for most of us, our journey to getting to finally know about Bitcoin was not smooth. From one failed investment in altcoins to being scammed by scammers, then comes Bitcoin after losing trust in the system already. Those rough starts is what motivated most of us, especially me to study Bitcoin very well to get to understand it better to avoid repeating same mistakes I made when I was still very new in the system.

Errors happen, but with my level of exposure now, I will be disappointed in myself if I make some mistakes which can be avoided. Bitcoin has really gone global now, many newbies will not experience the stress we went through before locating Bitcoin.

what bitcoin is about is not peculiar to some set of people and everyone that knows about bitcoin has a general knowledge about it in terms of what it stands for as an edge against inflation and the fact that it is a decentralized finance that can be bought and held as either an asset or a form of money. the way you want to deal with it is dependent on what you know about it and that is why some that sees it as something they should just trade only trades it for the short term while those that are aware of it long term potential are investing into it for the long term.
