I’d love to see it implemented in my Passport Core.
I can't see Foundation Devices taking too long before they follow suit. Between CoinKite and Foundation it's hard to pick which I like better. I already have the Passport Core {Batch 2,) and I'm on the list to get my Passport Prim. I use my ColdCard MK4 way more often, and I'm planning to order a ColdCard Q this weekend.
From a value perspective, ColdCard is definitely more bang for the buck, but it'll be interesting to compare the two new models side by side.
Despite the efforts of one particular member here to misdirect any thread about a CoinKite product, spread misinformation, make outlandish accusations against nvk, and fuel a misleading narrative about him being "anti-open-source," CoinKite remains the most innovative and progressive hardware wallet manufacturer. The functionality of their products is second to none. Foundation comes slightly ahead in terms of form factor and aesthetics, but the functionality and features of their products is no better than that of CoinKite's. In some cases, such as the case of this particular thread's subject, CoinKite is ahead of everybody. They're frequently the first to market with cool features and Bip implementations. Bip85 is one specific one that I use frequently that comes to mind. Until Passport was introduced, the MK4 was the only hardware wallet to have that feature implemented.
Another kudo is they don't forget their previous customers. Their innovations are frequently backported to existing devices, further enhancing the value of being one of their customers.
