I think gambling should also have a retirement period. Not a specific age like the government works but like a personal commitment at a certain age. To hand over the gambling activities to the younger generations.
Maybe before that time you as an individual can have a target and work towards achieving it then you take that as a retirement benefit from all your Years of gambling.
Interesting point, but I think gambling is a bit different. But in gambling there’s really no kind of “legacy” you can pass on. Every player is on their own, playing with their own money and taking their own risks.
In my opinion, the most reasonable approach is to treat gambling either as entertainment with a limited budget (which is probably the most realistic option), or simply as a risky activity where you should have a clear exit plan beforehand. That way the question of “when to retire” kind of answers itself.

Every sphere of work has a certain number of Year in service.  Even Entrepreneurs have a certain age they plan.to work and hand over to their children or any of their predecessor at old Age.

I am so sorry to tell you this my friend but you are on a path of destruction if you don't rethink about your crazy strategy, ther are people who have spend their whole lives as a gambler and they have nothing to show for it, if you want to risk everything on something make sure it's not gambling, investment is better because the chance of having accomplishments is higher than that of gambling, you can dedicated all your life as a gambler hoping that one day you will win and you will get nothing great, ask those who have been buying lottery tickets since their youth days and they are over 70 years old and not a lottery winner yet.

You don't have to do that; gambling is a recreational activity. There is no retirement on something you enjoy, you can just take a vacation and go back whenever you like going back, once a gambler always a gambler, and I doubt if someone can take away gambling in his system, it's inherent in us if you're a sports bettor you will be tempted to make a short comabck to challenge your betting analysis.
You can always quit and go back anytime, but coming back to something you enjoy doing, I doubt it, unless you are cured from addiction, and you totally abandon it.

Do you really believe that in gambling a real gambler would retire? I don't think it's possible because when you are already used to gambling, even after you think you have retired, you won't be able to sleep well until you have placed your money where your mind is. Gambling could be seen as a business or fun act depending on how you consider it. It's like footballers after retirement, they still play once in a while they will always go back to play, even if it's no longer as a business or career, but for fun. Which ever way, when it comes to gambling for fun, you may only gamble less or with less money but the act is always there.

Retirement from gambling is not an easy one and I'm still yet to see someone who's addicted to gambling and completely retired at his own time without looking back.

When did gambling becomes an official work for one to retire? It's a voluntary thing that people enjoy and there is no guarantee you are going to make money from it. If you are interest in it, get started and do what you can to enjoy why it's called gambling and not because you want to make money and retire one day. It's not like you are going to be gambling from morning till evening like official working hours of 24/7, I haven't see any one gamble with such intention.

A person that is age can still gamble if he wish to gamble, the best thing to do is to make sure you are not an addicted person. I have seen age men win more jackpot than I have seen a young adult person make money from gambling. It's not because they are special, it's because they are reserved and patient when it comes to gambling than young gamblers.

Maybe is a probability and that is what happens with gambling, you never can be sure of what will happen. Unlike government job that you are certain of the age of retirement and the benefit that will be given to you. Gambling is not a job and to ascribe retirement to it isn't a right idealogy.

Can you retire from taking a risk? The answer is No because even at old age, you take risk. Those retire from government work only retire from the work and they continue taking risk at life and living. Gambling has no retirement age, it is about a choice whether to stop or not at a particular age.

Let's not hope for retirement in gambling because it is what we can always be doing each time and they should not be limited to it, knowing that we are doing it for the purpose of fun and nothing more, the retirement determines if we are tired of gambling or not, when such peak is achieved, then no one will have to inform us before we take the necessary steps towards what we do.

I’m not a pro sports bettor but I understand how someone can too involved on sports betting if he frequently watch sports since every analysis that he seems a high winning chance can truly attract a sports betting fan to place bet.

However, I don’t consider this as an addiction if he just do it within a schedule that doesn’t affect his daily routine.

Sports betting is highly reliant on sports schedule so there’s always a waiting time on every bet that keeps bettor always in check and avoid addiction on most cases.

Do you put retirement age at something that you do for fun? The answer for me is NO so you can gamble as long as you have money to engage in it responsibly no matter how old you are. I cannot speak for people that gambles mainly for money, they can have a retirement age where they will either enjoy their ROI or endure their loses, in an investment it is either profit or lose. This is why I advocate for us to gamble for fun so we can gamble into old age always with amount that we can afford to loose, at any point when it stops being fun or starts to affect our wellbeing we can easily stop. You can as well choose to stop gambling when you are younger, bit is all about your choice.

Gambling don't have a certain number of year to still playing. You should determine by yourself how long you want gamble and when you really stop. But most people are difficult to stop gambling especially if they did that from a long time.

You are enough playing gambling since you were young. But I don't know about a retirement period because I don't think that is need in gambling.

You don't have to have a target as that will makes you trying to achieve and you know that achieving something in gambling is not easy.

You can losing much if you want achieving goals in gambling.

Every sphere of work has a certain number of Year in service.  Even Entrepreneurs have a certain age they plan.to work and hand over to their children or any of their predecessor at old Age.
I've seen quite a number of post asking the different times and hours that people gamble with, when yo gamble and when not to gamble amongst other post but it seems gamblers donot have any plan to retire from the gambling activities and hand over to the younger ones.

Um I'm confused here, I thought gambling was for fun? Well I know some take gambling very seriously like, it's more than a hobby or a fun thing, some take it as a full time job, but common retire and leave it to younger generations, that so funny lol, anyways, I don't think that we can compare gambling retirement to career retirement whether we gamble for fun or to make a living.

Why I say this is because, you might say I'm retired right now, but getting back in will take no effort at all unlike normal career jobs, or businesses, the retirement I can think of is quitting gambling due to one issue or reason or the other, not because it's to to pass down the mantle.

Even when you gamble for fun, there is still some level of anxiety when you are expecting the outcome of the bets. I know an old gambler in my neighbourhood who was advised by the doctor to stop gambling. I am sure he is a responsible gambler, but his health now doesn't require any form of emotional or physical tension.

People who are suffering from medical conditions like hypertension are advised to avoid watching sports games that might make them anxious. Some people watching fun games have died because of such stress. My point is that medication condition at an old age could stop one from gambling.

I don't completely agree. For many people gambling is really just entertainment, they play occasionally and take a break when they want. But then there are also people who gradually get more involved in it then it's not just fun, I think anyone can stay away for a while if they want but if it becomes a habit or an addiction, the temptation to come back is much stronger, especially in the case of sports betting people think their analysis was right, so they want to try again, So in the end it depends a lot on the person's own control and mental state.

To some extent, I can agree with the argument that gambling is generally perceived as a recreation activity, however, the truth may change based on an individual. Other individuals consider gambling as a form of entertainment and may freely get out of the same at their own free time without the urge to get back immediately. To them, having a break is not complicated as they do not consider it as something that is core. Nevertheless, in the case of others, particularly sports betters, gambling would be more fun as time goes by. When they think their analysis or predictions are close to what would have been expected, it generates a high level of tempting to repeat it. Due to this, gambling retirement can be done, but it requires much self control, discipline and personal mindset.

In a normal sense, gambling does not require retirement. However, to many gamblers it's actually called restrictions,a self imposed restrictions because self control and discipline demands it.Its a conscious personal commitments where you get to prioritize your boundaries, manage risks, protects your finances and prevent addiction.

Gambling does not require an age after which you can quit it and never return to the colorful world of casinos and betting. After all, the very concept of a pension implies that an employee cannot cope with his duties in the field of physical or mental work. And gambling, like betting, is just a hobby and there is no point in trying hard to calculate the years when you can make yourself a "gambling pension". You can give up this activity right now and then find yourself an 80-year-old playing slots in Las Vegas. In general, this is a personal matter for every person and the main thing in life is to earn money while we are young, and what to do with it in retirement is up to everyone to decide for themselves.

how exactly do you view gambling? it’s not a “job”, nor is it something that needs to be passed down from generation to generation. gambling is simply gambling, and if you enjoy it, it can become a habit for you. there’s no limit to the number of people who can gamble, so there’s no situation where older generations have to make way for the younger ones.

contrary to what you mentioned, most people become addicted to gambling because they feel adrift after reaching a certain age, and they may continue gambling until they die. especially for someone who has retired, the desire to save money for the future gradually diminishes, and the habit of spending money impulsively increases.

This is something many people confuse.

If your earnings don't offer enough space to also gamble a bit on the side and instead your gambling eats up your savings you're doing something wrong. Maybe with a few hundreds saved every month you could have a decent savings plan. Retire with lots of savings and maybe even leave something to your kids.

If you reduce your savings just to gambling it's guaranteed you'll have no or at least a poor retirement plan. So these things don't go together. If you don't earn enough you shouldn't be considering even to gamble important amounts just on the hope of retiring rich. It's not gonna happen and in reality you'll just lose out of your retirement in the long term.

I feel no need of having a specific age or time of retirement when it comes to gambling, what if you are looking for a life changing opportunity in gambling and it doesn’t come , would keeping gambling even in your 90s for the opportunity to come , even in your 20s you can still stop once  you get what you want or better still when betting doesn’t Favour you , you can still decide to stop and focus on other stuff, I don’t agree to this retirement ideas towards gambling, this is not a job that you can retire at some age, this is a game , you can decide to quit at any point in time .

It seems you are among those that see gambling as a source of income because this is the only thing that can explain why you talking of retirement. Gambling isn't a kind of employment or job that it must have a time for retirement. There is nothing like that is all a matter of choice. A gambler can decide to stop gambling whenever they feel like. It can be at any age and they still decide to go back after quitting and this doesn't change anything.
