Will there be another or a 'better' bitcoin in 30 years or so?

It's hard to figure out that everyone's focus is on Bitcoin, and after 17 years, it has come a long way. If ever there is a new creation like Bitcoin, it should be better than what Bitcoin and the technology behind it are offering.

There were many, and more are coming out, claiming to be the next Bitcoin, but all are just claims and die on their own.
Bitcoin's decentralization and blockchain technology are something that our modern era has easily adopted; without the internet, things could have been different. Bitcoin arrived at the right time.

But for sure those quantum computer things will challenge Bitcoin's position. So let's see first if there's negative effect of its existence or people is just panicking of uncertain situations.

That is not true, we already know most of the impact that quantum computers may have. They will not challenge Bitcoin in any significant way. They are mostly going to be an issue limited to some old addresses and that is it. Quantum computers can not destroy Bitcoin, they can not even really harm Bitcoin besides what I already mentioned. It is meaningless propaganda that many of you have fallen for.

Also hard to speculate if there's another same like Satoshi will emerge in future, but let see since we don't have any idea what's going to happen in future.

It is not going to happen.

With the invention of AI, I think it gives people tool to use for growth, and make it faster. The AI that we have right now would be magical in any other time period, we are using it like it's our slave.

The AI that people will have in next generation will be totally different, hell we are getting close to AI'd robots, not today, maybe not even in 10 years, but it will not be impossible in the future. So believe me when I say this, it is not going to be that hard to see how we can come up with something better.

No, this is not correct and AI or other technological progress has nothing to do with Bitcoin. Please refrain from making incorrect assumptions about Bitcoin and false prediction. It is as of today impossible to create something better than Bitcoin, and very likely it is never going to happen again. You can't replicate Bitcoin's decentralization. You can create much faster and better technological solutions but they will always be much more centralized in many ways, and because of that they are in fact never going to be better than Bitcoin. Stop imagining things, you are not going to find the next Bitcoin because there is never going to be one. Where is the next physical gold? I've been waiting for thousands of years of a better material to appear to replace gold, has it happened?

And up to know, there will be a attempt, I remember Kaspa, they said that it might be similar to Bitcoin. But I didn't follow it, regardless if it did grow or not. But one thing is for sure, there's no other crypto that can much Bitcoin's popularity.

And even after so many years, calling Bitcoin old, but as we can see on the price itself, it's growing. Government and institutions are into it and so I doubt that there will be anything that is going to be close to Bitcoin.

There is only one Bitcoin, and the good news is that Bitcoin is upgradeable, so there is no need for another Bitcoin to meet future needs. If in case, there is a new form of monetary system, it would not be called Bitcoin nor can be considered another Bitcoin, but a unique system itself.  But is there really a need for another monetary sytem in the next 30 years?  I think no because the world have yet to capitalise on the potential of the current emerging monetary system.

Exactly I don't know why people keep pushing and thinking that another form of bitcoin that is different from the bitcoin that we have and use right now, but the fantastic thing is that the bitcoin network upgrade no matter how hard it is and most frequently that the upgrade happens but still very achievable to meet current demands.

And it will exist if there's another creative idea that can help humans in next centuries, but for now or maybe in next decade we provably won't see the next Bitcoin because people will provably focus on what's available strong digital currency at the moment. Then potentially those big figures which has been speculated might going to happen.

Quantum computing is being talked about like crazy and bitcoin will be very much in trouble but at the end of the day we can always use it for us and not against us as well if we are careful. This is why we should not be worried about it and we can do a lot better too. I know it is not an easy task but we need to make sure that we are not getting ahead of ourselves.

Focus on the problems of today and you will do better, if you start to focus on the problems of tomorrow then we are not going to get the best out of ourselves. Surely this is not that troublesome considering the situation we are in but at the end of the day we need to make sure that it is not that big of a deal and can be done a lot better when we are careful.

Does it mean bitcoin will have a duplicate after 30 years old, I am still trying to figure out the idea behind this another bitcoin is what I really don't understand. It will be the first time I will hear about such thing and it does not look great at all. What I was trying to make sense of is even the upgrade after the 30 years, the intricasies behind it one will need know to see how such upgrades will add to the benefit of our lives and not lose as a result. There's also need for transparency and maintenance of the reputation already built, who is going to do the upgrade in the bitcoin and I hope it won't affect those features I mentioned above.

Before bitcoin became what it is now, there were numerous attempts first from others back then. Obviously, none of them were able to reach the success that bitcoin was able to reach. But it is still good to acknowledge the steps humanity have taken in order to arrive to such a sophisticated and advanced technology that bitcoin is today.

In 1981, David Chaum already had an idea about untraceable email addresses. His work pioneered privacy and led to the creation of privacy tools like Tor browser. 8 years later, Chaum founded DigiCash which paved way for what we would know now as digital currencies. It was bankrupted though but he had the right ideas even before the 90s. The problem with DigiCash was stated by Chaum:

Chaum said in an interview in 1999 that the company's problem scaling was due to a classic chicken and egg problem in the technology industry: "It was hard to get enough merchants to accept it, so that you could get enough consumers to use it, or vice versa."

The next milestone was e-gold. Founded by Douglas Jackson and Barry Downey in 1996, e-gold as stated in its name was backed by gold reserves. The struggle with e-gold was two things: it only had one point of failure because it was only maintained by a single company. The next struggle was that it faced regulatory issues because e-gold was used by launderers. While Jackson and the team tried to counter the criminal use of E-gold, they were ultimately found guilty of running an unlicensed money transmission enterprise, and the venture was shut down.

In 1998, Wei Dai proposed the b-money. This was an alternative peer to peer financial system. B-money never actually launched but Wei Dai's proposals seemed very similar to what we know now as stablecoins since b-money was tied to a certain commodity.

Finally 2008 was the year that bitcoin was invented. It took almost 30 years since David Chaum's first idea for someone to finally get it right in the form of bitcoin. It may have been even longer. Technology took a long time to come to where it is now and technology may keep developing in the future. Will there be another or a 'better' bitcoin in 30 years or so?

I would not guess that anything big like that will happen anytime soon. It's always "right around the corner" when you talk about it, but things wait for decades before it happens. We should not be expecting neither quantum, or anything better than bitcoin soon. Not saying the future doesn't have either, there could be either, just saying that it is not going to be anytime soon for us to worry.

I mean not in the next 10 years or so, which is a lot of time to make enough money for yourself if you know what you are doing. Of course it is not that simple, but we could do a lot better job if we give it enough time as well. I know this is going to be tough in the future for when the time comes, but it is not right now.

None can replace Bitcoin.

I've seen in the past years that there have been a lot of attempt to do that, they've named their altcoins after Bitcoin.

They have forked Bitcoin and made a new one but, the whole sentiment of the community still goes for Bitcoin. The real one that's been made by satoshi.
