I think whats makes US Navy looks half hearted,
It was clearly proven that the most useless branch of US military is actually its Navy. They are mostly with 20th century technology and tactics while Iran is fighting with 21st century technology and tactics. This is why on the first day 177 days ago the Iranian retaliations rendered the entire US 5th fleet useless, sinking a couple and incapacitating multiple aircraft carriers, destroyers, submarines, etc. All in a matter of hours. This is also why the US regime pulled its fleet deep into the Indian ocean and hundreds of kilometers away from the closest point on Iran's soil which rendered it useless in an entirely different way (distance is too far). BTW this far distance and the fact that they are in the "ocean" shows how dumb the thing they call "blockade" is ... you can't blockade an ocean... The situation on US military vessels is so degraded that their marines are committing suicide by jumping into the ocean. They pulled a couple back out completely out of the region because of this. And also to chime in and add to this point, Iran successfully rendered the US and Israel almost blind militarily speaking by obliterating static radar infrastructure. These are not easily or rapidly replaced and cost hundreds of millions of $'s to replace. So Irans 21st century missile war "trump's" the US and Israel's 20 century systems and infrastructure. So based on the thread title, yea the strait of hormuz is open* when Iran and Oman decide its open, not when Trump states.

Hate to say it but it was always best left to the Gulf states to govern this delicate balance the way they know how. Barring a full on invasion like Saddam did to Kuwait which required action, Im not sure we've had much positive return on any venture since Stormin Norman was leading the forces. I'm not a military expert and maybe Im just not old enough to know exactly why but its been said for at least a generation that an assault on Iran would be a bloodbath due to easily defensible terrain and their ideological fervor, where Iraq for example the soldiers were running away half the time as I understand it.
Do we blame Trump or the military for presenting a plan that wasnt going to work and had flaky details that led to civilian deaths, just reminds me of Putin (not militarily experienced either) screwing up which is the worst comparison to have to consider, Trump should be grateful nobody in the media has done as much.

The only thing the US can do is curb the rapid growth of China's economy. They are already too late to stop the rise of this Asian power. How do they curb China's economy? I don't see that happening without them curbing their own To be fair, I dont think the usd is going to collapse, but its dominance may be coming to an end. The monopoly of the petrodollar empire will soon be shattered.
In the same way, the other currencies around the world haven't collapsed but are pretty useless in international trade. Maybe that's what can happen to the USD. If the demand to use the US dollar drops, its value will also drop.

The point is that this is a war in which the warring parties have completely different goals, methods, and ideas! You’re right in noting that the IRGC understands that the U.S. isn’t prepared to conduct a large-scale ground operation. The reason is simple: the vast territory, rugged terrain, and other factors would make it impossible to wage a "quick and victorious war". And here, a "good" example for the U.S. is Russia, which unleashed a terrorist war against a small (compared to the terrorist state of Russia) Ukraine, a country with a large territory, that has been waging a "special military operation" for 12 years, with four years of claims that "we’ll take Kyiv in three days", resulting in more than 1.5 million Russian casualties, a deteriorating economy, and a resounding fiasco. The IRGC could pose enormous problems for U.S. ground forces for many years to come... Israel proposed and implemented a high-quality solution by eliminating all the more or less significant leaders of the regime and the IRGC. This is not very costly but very effective. The IRGC came up with a plan to "take revenge on the U.S. and the whole world" by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. The truth is, the IRGC didn’t consider that the U.S. would do the same. But the U.S. won’t suffer from the halt in oil traffic - it will only benefit from the rise in oil prices In short, we’ll be watching this commotion for a long time to come.... It's already clear that this military conflict in Iran will last a long time. Trump has tasted the sweetness not only of victory but also of profit for himself and his entourage. What's surprising is that I knew from the start that this senile old man would start by unleashing a war somewhere in the world. He has a perfect example for this in the form of his Kremlin patient. I realized that this way he can distract society from domestic problems for the duration of his term in office. Even if this war ends, Trump will unleash another one. I have no doubt about that.

The gulf states are well aware they're left exposed to Irans ballistic missiles and it will be stupid to provoke Iran when they can not defend themselves. This is a rhetorical question, Donald Trump is literally the president of the United States of America and he controls the military. He should be blamed for that. He literally promised no more foreign wars but look at him, doing everything to support the billionaires and lobbyists who engineered him into power. I don't know what Putin did, but I know he has done what is best for Russia unlike Donald Trump a sellout.

How do they curb China's economy? I don't see that happening without them curbing their own Yes, you're right. They depend on each other and can't really be separated. So to curb China's rise, the US also has to hurt itself. In the same way, the other currencies around the world haven't collapsed but are pretty useless in international trade. Maybe that's what can happen to the USD. If the demand to use the US dollar drops, its value will also drop.
Just like the currencies of Spain, the Netherlands, France, or Britain, the Usd wont disappear. But one day, it may no longer be widely used in international trade, and other countries may no longer need it. History has shown that nothing last forever and everything moves in cycle. Sooner or later, USD will become part of history too.

So based on the thread title, yea the strait of hormuz is open* when Iran and Oman decide its open, not when Trump states. Here are some figures I found. Repairing the military bases, especially in Bahrain is expected to cost around $5.1B. The Trump admin has just requested another $87.6B, including $67.1B specifically for the Department of Defense to replenish its dwindling weapons stockpiles. https://middleeasttransparent.com/how-iran-devastated-an-american-naval-base-and-caused-a-u-s-recalculation/https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/7/22/iran-wars-37bn-price-tag-why-does-trump-want-67bn-moreIran is using UAV costing only $20k-$50k each to directly counter US missiles and launch system that cost millions of dollars. As a result, the US is burning through its strategic ammunition stockpiles. https://www.foxnews.com/world/iranian-drone-attacks-strain-us-air-defenses-ukraine-pitches-low-cost-interceptors.amphttps://gulfnews.com/amp/story/world/mena/the-ak-47-of-the-skies-how-iran-s-cheap-drones-are-reshaping-this-war-1.500462530It could say this is an asymmetric war, and ironically, the side that is considered weaker is gaining the upper hand. So I agree that Iran and Oman have much more say over whether the Strait of Hormuz is reopened than Trump does.

You know what's the worst part of all this chaos is? It's that the Epstein Axis knew this would happen! They know if Iran were to retaliate, their Axis would be defeated miserably. The only reason why they started this war was first desperation, and second was that they believed their own propaganda. They really thought that if they bomb elementary schools, hospitals, and murder Iran's leader then Iranians would come to streets and pave the way for the invaders to come in and steal their resources! That is why they thought they could "finish" Iran off in only 3 days Read my Delusional Washington topic, I explained Washington's delusions in details there. The point is Iran defeating US was not just militarily with superior firepower and technologies. It was the 50 million Iranians who came to the streets and rallied around the flag in support of their government and in defense of their homeland. Something that ruined the last hope the Epstein Axis had and now they are in too deep and too defeated to go away that easily (we will have a clash in a couple of months as temperature drops).

He who lives on the spot grinds no false grain, You know better situation in Iran and also half year has prove that Iran has extremely high levels of resilience and pain endurance, beside that Iran demonstrate anti access / area denial, stand off, attrition, logistics disruption, and strategic opportunity cost, which all make US Navy less effective and appear vulnerable. Some of your claim are correct but regarding Iran sank several US aircraft carriers, i can not find news about it. One or two sailors has suicide attempt can not be generalized as US Navy collapsed. But matter of fact US Navy still vastly superior but Iran's survival stated that, superiority does not equal to unlimited freedom of action. https://www.wdmmw.org/ranking.phpI think Economic D-Day campaign also the form of Trump's realization that military force is not only costly but also ineffective, matter of fact US military superiority didn't bring Iran's political capitulation at an acceptable cost. But i truly curious, what makes Trump's so confidence that Economic D-Day can bring US winning the marathon of sustaining its strategic objectives for a longer period at a cost that remains manageable, considering history show that Iran has experienced decades of embargo and economic sanction and Iran show extrem resistance and resilience. Many political and intelligence analysts even my president implicity showing that Iran won the war against the US and Israel. Of course Iran has won the hearts of many moslem in my country because Iran dares stand for Palestine by take real action against Israel when many other Islam countries just talk.

Your idea is correct but in the meantime Iran has very limited options because Donald Trump will increase pressure to isolate Iran. Although we have seen in the past years that they have not worked much, they have helped Iran to increase its capabilities. The major part of the necessary funding comes from oil and gas exports. Iran's main economy survives through oil and gas exports. They have learned the survival strategy through US policies for years and I do not see any possibility of reducing their military capabilities in the future. Trump will do everything necessary to keep the interests of the bad boy of the Middle East Israel intact. The outline and strategic policy that Iran and Oman have jointly adopted regarding the Strait of Hormuz will further expand Iran's regional influence and in practice Israel and the US circle will not be very successful.

Trump is also a businessman. A completely worthless one, but one he is at his core. My question is different. Could he have predicted Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz in the event of a military conflict? Was this a random process that no one knew about? If the latter, then he was incredibly lucky. Now he's reaping quite a profit from it. He's also giving his political entourage the opportunity to make money. Was this the original idea? Personally, I don't think so. It was all done spontaneously. Trump started all this for one reason: to distract public attention from domestic political problems. He copied this practice from the Kremlin. Yes, it's the Kremlin's secret service that serves as his example of how to divert attention when things are going badly in the country.

incapacitating multiple aircraft carriers
Some of your claim are correct but regarding Iran sank several US aircraft carriers, i can not find news about it. For carriers I said "incapacitate" not "sank". During operation True Promise 4, Iran wasn't focusing on sinking US navy. The focus was on destroying 25+ military bases and various CIA secret facilities to basically clear the first layer of enemy forces around Iran in a 1000 km radius to then expand it to the entire Wet Asia (2000+ km radius). Incapacitating is basically hitting strategic parts on a military ship like a carrier to render it useless. Like hitting its radars, its control tower, the engine, creating a hole in the hull with a torpedo , and so on... Off the top of my head the US military ships that I remember were sunk were at least one submarine, a dozen small vessels in the Persian Gulf, a couple of support ships (carrying provisions to the carriers which is why they are now facing a crisis) one of which was in the Omani port in the Arabian sea, 6 Landing Craft Utility (LCU) during the 84th wave of retaliation on 2026-03-28. There were more but these are the ones I distinctly remember. It was clearly proven that the most useless branch of US military is actually its Navy.
One or two sailors has suicide attempt can not be generalized as US Navy collapsed. I said it was proven to be "useless", never said it has "collapsed" although it is not far from reality either. Big targets that can easily be hit and can easily be sunk (if the decision is made to climb that escalation ladder) are useless. The fact that they had to run away and go deep into the Indian ocean hundreds of kilometers away from Iranian borders shows that clearly. It may not have yet collapsed but it is close to it. It is not just one or two suicides, it is so much higher than that. It is also a lot of other things like desertions, disobeying orders, mutiny, etc. For example a week or more before the US carried out the first terrorist attack against Iran the USS Ford (IIRC) sailors set their carrier aflame after they had already clogged its toilets a while back to convince their commanders to pull them back. Their commanders never did, so they were hit hard with missiles and their carrier burnt for 30+ hours with 200+ casualties and at least 24 aircraft on board destroyed. I think Economic D-Day campaign also the form of Trump's realization that military force is not only costly but also ineffective,
That is for internal use only to appease the American public, otherwise US hasn't had any new sanctions ever since Obama era. It is like China saying "we are going to ban bitcoin more"! They can't since they banned it once and you can't ban more. That's the same situation, the US regime started a "maximum sanction" on Iran 10-15 years ago and they sanctioned EVERYTHING. There was nothing left to sanction. In other words, the economic terrorism the US regime is waging on Iranians is the same as before. But the fact that the pedophile POTUS is advertising it this much with fake info shows what I explained before about regime's tactics: This is the Grand American Military Strategy (LOL): 1) Economic terrorism (sanctions, blockade, terrorist attacks against merchant ships at sea like pirates) 2) Assassinations 3) Terrorist attacks carried out by US regime's proxies (mainly members of Takfiri groups such as al-Qaeda, ISIS, Komoleh, Jeysh al-Zulm, MEK, etc.) who try to infiltrate from both east and western borders into Iran to carry out their terrorist attacks that include suicide bombings against border petrol stations, civilian infrastructure, etc. 4) Airstrikes from afar using air-launched missiles or from Navy deep from Indian ocean
After Iran defeated the US military back in March, the US regime fell back to step 1 again and has been trying to carry out step 2 (and have failed so far) while step 3 is also ongoing. After that they'll retry step 4 possibly in Autumn and I personally believe by then (operation True Promise 5) Iran will start sinking carriers. Some the orders has already been issued to shoot to sink this time not shoot to incapacitate. Basically the delusional US regime hopes that they can weaken Iran from inside so that by the time they resume step 4, the retaliatory strikes don't even come because they know exactly what will happen to US if they do. Next time Iran will climb the escalation ladder so much higher and will deal much deadlier damage to the US regime as punishment. Not to mention that the war will expand a lot wider. US assets in the Mediterranean sea has already been under attack over the past couple of weeks.

I believe that one of the most salient points in this discussion is the insurance proposed by NeuroticFish. If Iran officially declares that some ships can pass, it doesn't necessarily mean that shipping companies will view the route as safe. If there is still a risk of mines or attacks, insurers may refuse to provide coverage or pay significantly higher premiums. In such a case a large number of the operators of the tankers could avoid the Strait even if it is open. This makes the reopening of the passage and restoration of normal oil transportation two completely different things. The oil markets could keep playing it safe until more security and insurance becomes apparent.

I always wonder what is actually happening in Iran, concerning the war, I don’t think it’s only about the Nuclear Weapon Talk, It’s obvious that Iran doesn’t have any facilities anymore to build a nuclear weapon, which Donald Trump have previously said that Iran nuclear infrastructure have totally been obliterated, he said their Military is gone, their navy is gone, their air defense is gone, but Iran seems to be talking tough about the war, Iran is publicly saying they’re winning, Us is saying they are winning, but I’m not seeing any body bag being brought home to the US Soil, so I wonder who is actually winning the war. Which brings me to think that there is more to this war, I think it’s now about the oil and economic activities being carried out in the Straight of Hormuz, the war could’ve been over by now, that brings me to thinking that what you’re saying is right, Donald Trump seems to be using the war to enrich himself and the United States of America which is why the war is still standing strong, he seems to be taking oil from Iran, and taking payments from vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz. However, Few days ago, I heard Donald Trump saying the Straight of Hormuz would be declared a US Territory, that also brings me to thinking that he wants to crush the economy of Islamic State of Iran.

One thing I definitely agree with is that Trump decided to play "God on Earth" and become the greatest "peacemaker", for example, between Azerbaijan and Angola )) His campaign platform was full of grandstanding and populism, along the lines of "I’ll stop Russian terrorist aggression against Ukraine in a day". But… it’s one thing to talk, and quite another to keep your promises. Plus, he had to START a war against the regime of the terrorist ayatollahs and the IRGC. It’s hard to say what prompted him to take such a step, and more importantly, why he decided it would be a "quick and victorious war". But now he faces the challenge of extricating himself from this not-so-successful campaign as quickly and “gracefully” as possible. He is now launching a new wave of secondary sanctions targeting technology, cryptocurrencies, finance, and several other sectors, with the aim of strangling the economy - which will lead to the demilitarization of the IRGC regime. We’ll soon find out how this plays out. But even the "mirror" blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has yielded results, oil exports used to finance the IRGC junta have fallen to nearly zero. In short, stock up on popcorn.

Hopefully, Iran emerges from this conflict as a stronger party, better able to determine its own destiny, all Iranian people protected safely and peace establish in there based on mutual respect. Iran achievement today can be symbol of resistance against what they term the hegemony or unilateral dominance of the United States.

"Iran has complete control over the Strait of Hormuz" - that’s just as much a IRGC fake as their ranting, "We’ll easily destroy the U.S. Navy" Such "mental masturbation" - verbal self-gratification for the sake of mental satisfaction, without any actual events to back it up - is typical of regimes like this What else is left for them to do? Tell the truth? Well, that’s "like death"… So here’s the bottom line: - Anyone who wants to can block the Strait of Hormuz - No one has exclusive rights to it - Each side claims whatever it wants for itself, including the U.S. - it would be foolish to deny it Yeah, "let's take Kyiv in three days." We've heard that before. It's no wonder the Kremlin and Iran are like twin brothers. They copy each other in every way. They take their cues from each other. It's so disgusting to watch all this. I wish they burn in hell forever. And may Trump join them. Really, why on earth would Iran be able to shut down and control anything? Isn't he taking on too much? In fact, Trump isn't a spineless creature who can't do anything about it. He got himself into trouble and now doesn't know how to get out. Oh well, at least he has the opportunity to make money from it. It wasn't all in vain.

The opening of the strait has trended more than the war, lately I was like is it the strait of humuz that is the target of the war, the problem about the whole narrative is that the media is not fair enough as both parties is using them on the war as defense painting some fake news and most AI video changing mindset of people as some unnecessary information comes painting unrealistic to be reality.i won't believe in a hurry about the opening of the strait of humuz because I see Iran using it to negotiate and get back some if their losses it's hard to let lose without concrete agreement, except they are overwhelmed or conquered by US force at the point, my area of weakness is that both parties are painting some scenario to suits and favor them even when it's different from reality.

Iran achievement today can be symbol of resistance against what they term the hegemony or unilateral dominance of the United States. They will not let Iran win in a situation where America is the adversary. Iran has put up a strong resistance, which is true, but the country is suffering in every way. The country has been crippled by financial sanctions for many years. The US administration has now increased the scope of these sanctions. But it seems to me that such sanctions are not new to Iran. They have learned how to survive in adverse situations. The country has been under US sanctions for many years, but despite this situation, they have made strong friends like Russia and China, so they are not afraid now. Technologically, Iran has advanced a lot and has become an unstoppable force in the missile industry. It is surprising that it is fighting alone against the dominance of America and Israel and is still surviving.
