After Iran defeated the US military back in March, the US regime fell back to step 1 again and has been trying to carry out step 2 (and have failed so far) while step 3 is also ongoing.
After that they'll retry step 4 possibly in Autumn and I personally believe by then (operation True Promise 5) Iran will start sinking carriers. Some the orders has already been issued to shoot to sink this time not shoot to incapacitate.

US has completely failed to bring Iran to heel through military force, and now economic warfare is the only option left.

Iran is certainly going to face a lot of difficulties because they have just gone through a war and suffered significant economic and military losses. So tightening the economic sanction won't exactly be easy for them.  But Iran has survived decades of isolation and sanction before. On top of that, the US seems to forget that Iran has one of the largest oil reserves in the world. So I also believe Iran will not only survive, but adapt and rebuild its economy.

The war isn't over. It's just shifting from military conflict to economic warfare.

You are right, Iran will surely find a way to bypass these sanctions. I am very sure that they were already expecting sanctions from the west before the tension begins. The US government thinks that the sanction will make countries not to trade with Iran anymore. I don't understand the problem of the USA gov, so they want to dictate who countries should trade with. I am glad with way China responded back to Washington. The US government doesn't want to accept defeat yet, they are now making sanctions as their wild card, which doesn't really work in this current era. Russia is still doing well despite heavy sanctions from the European Union and US, China is also doing well. Iran's closest ally is China. China has resisted the US demand to stop aiding Iran, but to no avail.
Eventually, Russia has also developed connections in trade with Iran. Countries that the U.S did not expect to aid Iran are doing so without thinking twice.
However, Iran has suffered from some sanctions, especially in the western region of the supply chain system. Food supply prices have increased beyond the margin. The Iranians are suffering it but have devised a means of rationing supply and manafucaturing its own food within the country to combat starvation.

Problem is China is not exactly a capitalist or democratic nation so I wonder how easily they can propagate the free exchange of their currency around the world.  They have had capital controls in the past which restricted the export of the Yuan.  Why especially that benefits them and how it could change Im not sure exactly.

   I imagine what happens is some tie to the gold, this would be a currency ratio or exchange respected throughout the gulf and most of Asia.  I find that scenario more likely, China is still lagging behind in its gold reserves despite twenty years of buying.  They started with zero and have literally billions of people to apportion their currency per capita.

The first phase of the war which had to do a lot military aggression from the Israeli military and united States have all faltered massively and they failed to keep their own part of the memorandum which was signed by Donald Trump. This has even started now when war broke out between Iran they even made Yuan as a means of payment when Strait of Hormuz was open although now there is another option i.e. crypto as a means of payment (now it is ineffective because Strait of Hormuz is closed). In addition with the BRICS, I see indirectly that dedolarization has begun.

So even though for now the role of the dollar is still quite strong but with some intervention, especially from geopolitical problems that occur, this indirectly accelerates the plans of competitors including China to dedolarize.
Now we can even see that the dollar is weakening due to the tensions caused by the trade war and geopolitical problems that have occurred in the past year.

While some are waiting for the Strait of Hormuz to open soon, others are already taking certain measures and finding alternative routes for transporting oil.

I'm also following the situation and from what I know, as of August 30, only around 6 ship were passing through the strait each day, compared with 85 a day before.

The situation hasn't really changed much.

The Strait of Hormuz as well as the Persian Gulf is shut down on the Terrorist Epstein Axis and soon the entire West Asia will be shut off to them. The average number of ships that pass through the Strait of Hormuz is usually roughly 10 to 20 ships a day. These are ships that either belong to Iran or friendly countries like Iraq, China or in some cases other members of BRICS or SCO which are international alliances that Iran is a member of.
Other numbers that they report in Western Mouthpieces are either lies or are greatly exaggerated (like counting a small fishing boat among the "ships" that pass through the Strait so that the defeated US regime can keep some illusion of strength only in the media).

Basically any ship that do not belong to the terrorists and sign up with the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PSGA.ir) has been allowed transit. Anything else is either not allowed to pass (so they remain behind the blockade) or if they try, they have been hit and gotten sunk or have been boarded and seized over the past ~200 days.

That's understandable because from the beginning it was the rulers of his regime who also made such claims so consciously or unconsciously the media will make this as a thing they consider as news of truth
Some time ago even Trump's claim that they already control the Strait of Hormuz and even proposed that this strait be renamed the "Trump" Strait indirectly shows that the US is consciously encouraging the media to make news so that many people believe that the claim is true.

In the end when the US is trapped they always make the media as one way for them to seek justification but when talking about Hormuz claims I agree that the situation has not changed as much as before.

Regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz - it turns out it is indeed open! The U.S. Navy has cleared the passages in the southern part of the strait (closer to Oman) and is ensuring safe passage for oil tankers from supplier countries. Of course, the volume of shipments hasn’t yet reached the level it was at before the IRGC junta attempted to block the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz, but the flow of shipments is increasing. Guess for whom the Strait of Hormuz has remained closed?  Yes, yes - for Iran, of all places!

The US goal is to get that number up to 50 ships  by mid September, but that's only a target for now.

Second, oil prices are still above $90, which is pretty high compared to before the war. So saying the strait is open again isn't exactly accurate either.

Something tells me the U.S. will go through with this. They have a fleet, they have the means to carry out mine clearance, the IRGC doesn’t have a navy, the U.S. will respond immediately to minor provocations, and there’s no need for a ground operation. Just like this week - as soon as they spotted terrorists trying to mine the strait, they simply wiped them off the face of the earth, and everything is calm and quiet
Meanwhile, the IRGC has zero oil shipments, zero oil revenue, and zero imports of goods....
