This is normal, because the odds are against you, and betting is a game of chance. To win long-term bets, you need to be not just smart, but an intellectual monster with exceptional gambling skills. For now, I consider myself a smart gambler, but by “smart” here, I mean more in the sense of being wise so the way I gamble is better than before, not that I win more often.

I think any player who has developed a certain discipline when it comes to betting, can call themselves a smart player. It’s not necessary that you will make big profits here, the most important thing in my opinion, is to play without losses. Even if these are small bets, you will still fully control the entire process. So my conclusion is that the main goal in betting is not to make money, but to avoid big losses.

I don't think that the smart bettor who is really successful is the guy who absolutely emotionlessly makes a lot of bets, after which he waits with a cold heart for their execution.
He doesn't bother opening the betting app every minute to see the current score of the match. He looks at the result only at the end or doesn't rush it at all. He makes a lot of bets in order to spread his distance and maximize it. So he eliminates the luck factor as much as possible. And he let his skill show itself.

As long as you are maintaining your weekly budget and gambling is responsibly then you are a smart bettor. A lot of people don't really see this as smart gambling they think that it is all about making profits consistently but it is far from that. Yeah definitely I consider them rare. Having such skills is exceptional. And takes a long time to acquire. You must have gone through a lot of hard times losing over and over again. What differentiate a regular gambler for such persons is that they don't giver up easily. But that's definitely risky. Winning is the only thing that qualified one as a smart bettor, you can't be losing weekly and call yourself a smart gambler, being smart is in your ability to maintain winning and avoid lose.  Having the knowledge of gambling and adjusting your strategy is a normal thing, even losers adjust and still lose more.

Me too, I am not a smart player but just someone who's cautious and also aware of what can happen to me. Because if I'd say that I am a smart bettor and yet I have become so emotional. There's no sense at all, I am still losing and majority of the smart bettors aren't losing money or mostly winning with what they gamble with. And I think, many of us are losing despite that even if this week we're winning, we're not in profit and maybe mostly are in losses and breaking even. Playing smart means betting knowing you can lose and never get that money back, betting for fun and not under pressure, betting knowing that once you spend the money you have to lose, you don't play anymore. You are right as gambling is majorly for profit making by the sites that have or created them, this companies many a time disguise as if they are there to help people get out of poverty as a quick way to bring out people from financial slavery. A close friend told me he won a hug amount of money so time ago and was happy feeling that he was in his season of luck. took the money he won from the bet and placed more bet in other to win extra and invest in something else, but lost all again.
In my own point of view no body is a smart bettor, because gambling is a game if chance and luck.
