Among the few reprehensible acts in gambling, this act is the most reprehensible. However, I have never heard or seen such a story in the past, this is the first time I have heard of a gambler betting his wife. Such reprehensible acts are possible only for a person with an addiction who is seriously addicted to gambling, but it is best for the wife not to bet on the other. No one can tell what goes on behind the scenes, those who are gamblers cannot easily do such a bad act, only those who are addicted to gambling can do such a bad act who are able to bet their wife.

Most likely, this wasn't done seriously, or I can also admit that there are some families in which open relationships are tolerated, where spouses are allowed to have affairs outside the home. But even then, it sounds like some kind of joke, because it requires the wife's consent, not just the husband's desire to put his wife on the line in one of their disputes. And I think arguing about teams is pointless. If you're sure you're right, just bet on your team and prove to everyone what a good bettor you are.

I don't think you have really encountered some funny human beings before... Some guys can be so funny that they are ready to do and bet on literally anything just to prove to the other/ their  friends of how sure they are of that game. I kinda had my doubt, but then again I believed the OP, coz of how loose some folks mouth tend to be, and yeah I kind of have friends who were so sure of a game that they staked their phones and sometimes slippers simply because they ran out of cash, only for them to lose it and then begin to call me to come and rescue them from the betting shop, I mean how senseless can that be.... So what happens next when one losses, they give out their wife to them? I know that there are some gamblers that stake everything they have on gambling but this is absolutely ridiculous. Will the other person even feel comfortable in taking someone's wife? It makes no sense, I think that the heat of the moment made them talk carelessly but this isn't something that's actually possible.

That is ridiculous and nonsense that your friends did. They are crazy betting their wife, for betting, they use that way. But I guess they just kidding each other because they don't want to feels loss analyzing a football game.

But we don't know how the situation out there, perhaps this scene happens because if they are addicted to gambling, they willing to do anything even if that is not make sense or ridiculous thing.

You would have given us more details about the bet because the story look empty. If two friends bet their wives, we should be able to know if the winner will inherit the wife of the loser permanently or temporarily.  I also wonder what will happen. Upon defaulting of the agreement because one person must win so there should be other conditions of settlement covered in that bet should the loser decided that giving out the wife is too big a prize. Finally, we do not also know of the wives have a say in the bet whoch I know they will definitely do as no woman will follow another man because of some ridiculous bets.

I’m not sure if their wives would be happy about this bet. It’s probably just a joke unless they are in to some weird  swinger stuff. I guess you never know, there are some weird people around, you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Any way, it’s a good idea not to bet on your wife

It is nor the first time it has happened in gambling nor it will be the last and I am not surprised that much about such event. I know this happens rarely but still persists and continue to happen, this shows how radical people from heavy dose of addiction in gambling can become to not care for anyone else, even themselves. First of all the wives should not accept in such "friendly" bets though in real dangerous scenarios people who lost their wife, their home and everything committed suicide more often than not in such cases, so this is not something to take lightly and why not law enforcement forces to get these guys in prison for some time so they learn the lesson. I know as I said that people have lost their wife and everything in gambling yet I find it difficult which motivates them to go to this length, we will never find out I guess.

Selling or gambling people is not allowed anywhere in any country. That would fall under human trafficking, I think. Although I am not a lawyer, such things can be easily googled and debunked as fake.

Sometimes people are in a stage that is crazy enough to gamble they will risk everything they have just because they feel angry, upset and hate, their emotions are provoked so that they do criminal things, I know some people like this and they will really do that, sometimes like risking their children.

That's nothing new, I have heard many stories about wives paying husband's debts... gambling or other kinds of debts. You can see that in some movies as well, so it's just the world around us.

This story reminded me of the "Indecent Proposal"... It's an old movie, I watched it 20 years ago, more or less. About the broke married couple in Las Vegas... A billionaire offers them $1 million for one night with the wife... Demi Moore was so hot!

Under certain conditions people can bet with whatever they have, I quite understand why some people make very control bets like this, it can be related to him not having anything else at stake or indeed his opponent likes his wife so that he is lured to make bets by proving whose predictions / who is the best analysis in assessing a match, the scenario can be very complicated considering that it is tied to two people who will certainly be very offensive because their bet is no longer money but a wife they are married to.

Such people should never gamble.

I don't know how this story unfolded, but if men really decided to seriously manage their wives' money without their consent, we also need to urgently fire such scoundrels and find ourselves reliable and serious emperors who will meet their needs and not create new problems. Lol, I’ve only seen this kind of situation in movies, putting their girl on the line. I think it’s just a joke, or they’re just carried away by their emotions and wouldn’t really take someone’s wife away if they lost. But even if it’s just a joke, it’s not a good one, and their own wives would probably feel hurt if they knew about it. Jokes like that shouldn’t be mentioned. But there are some who offer their bodies as part of a bet. I just recalled a random user on fb who commented that she would bet her virginity if her team lost in the NBA Finals. Lol. it seems that they were just kidding. gamblers use this kind of language all the time. they may bet material things but sometimes for comedic purposes or to emphasize just how much the bet is worth lol

What you should know is that, most people don't honour such bets because there are just being sarcastic that is why you see them betting things that they know their can't do without, I have seen several of such bets before and most times I don't take them seriously.

Sometimes you hear them betting they phone or even wristwatch this one is understandable and redeemable.

If you should check them now you will see that one of them lost the bet but still leaving with his wife happily, infact the wife may not be aware of such bets.

It ends with 1 guy now has 2 wifes? Insane if they would have accepted that bet. Staking that after the outcome of the game has been determined, what then happens to the wife? And what's the stand of the wife? She concented being used a a gambling tool?

Those kind of gambling are mere jokes because imagine it's the other way round and you just discover that your partner used you to make a stake? Do you know that's capable of destroying a home? I know it was just a joke, because the two of them are close friends and it's probably normal for them to joke around even if it goes too far. But it's not appropriate for other people to be involved in a joke, especially to the point of saying that they bet their wives on the match, that's too far and shouldn't be said. If the two of them are grown men, then they should be ashamed of what they said.
