Wives are not monies and neither the kind of properties that can be used for gambling. I do not think this topic should even exist because definitely it would be a joke. So anyone that wins will go home and just tell his wife that his friend and him bet with their wives as what would be won and his friend won, so she should pack her belongings and go to his friend's home to be living with him as his wife. How does that sound?

This is just stupid to even think of. Are they now regarding their wives as some sort of property which should be traded out just like that? It's never legal and can't even be allowed traditionally. And anyone who won the bet might not be winning any reward at all unless the wives choose to follow. If not, such a case should even be reported to the authorities, as no one can tell what next they will want to do with the lives of those innocent women.

Women are very sensitive when it comes to this; it feels like they are being thrown away, so expect your things outside your house if they find out. I don't think they are that serious, but they have to keep to themselves when the wives find out, all hell will break loose, and you'll have to sleep somewhere else.
Also, it's illegal. We have a term for this: human trafficking, and it's a criminal offense.

It's crazy that they have bet and had a quarrel over a football match but that only shows how die hard fans they are.

Your wife should never the subject of any bet or anything. She is not a piece of property that you can quickly dispose for value. This just shows on how these people view their respective partners because I just couldn’t fathom risking my wife merely for a bet and to prove a point to others.

This is really concerning and I hope those people are not serious when they decided to bet their wives given the nature of the circumstances involved.

I know it was just a joke, because the two of them are close friends and it's probably normal for them to joke around even if it goes too far. But it's not appropriate for other people to be involved in a joke, especially to the point of saying that they bet their wives on the match, that's too far and shouldn't be said. If the two of them are grown men, then they should be ashamed of what they said.

Even as a joke, I just couldn’t understand on how they managed to really involve their wives just like that. I mean, I can never imagine putting my wife in a position such as those people; nor even mention her about these kinds of jokes.

That would be against human right, betting someone when that someone is not even aware that she's already being staked. And if you are one doing like this, you are not just gambling illegally, but you are already losing your mind and make stupid decisions just to sustain betting.

I have to say this is a crazy idea, maybe those two are just joking because they have no money anymore to sustain betting. Its okay to gamble on money on what you can afford to lose, but betting on each other's wife, that is already crossing the line, there's no way they can be serious.

It certainly is crazy and I think that this only happens in the movies that I've watched before when an addicted gambler inside the casino's premises don't have enough money and yet, they've decided to simply bet for his wife without his wife knowing it. I don't think that they're kidding on this one. You know that in such situations, when two guys have clashed with their egos. No one can stop them for what they have said. Maybe right now they don't regret it, the loser will have himself regret and please the winner that it's just a bet that they are not serious about.

I think it’s just a momentary impulse, they wouldn’t actually do it. Even the idea of betting your wife is crazy, if their wives found out, they might be kicked out of the house, LOL.

Besides, it’s a criminal act, it looks like human trafficking. Yet they have plenty of other, more interesting things to bet on.

They could be kidding or just having some kind of fun it's possible that gamblers can stake on their gadgets some can even place their house or bet with money but using their wives really sounds funny and I believe they were just cracking jokes because their wives couldn't even allowed such thing to happen if this can be possible we would have heard it before now that some one stake his wife for gambling, some they could also say this and later settle it with money and not with wife.

If we are to learn from others, then it has to be a serious and intended positive achievements and not a negative one, we can't learn to do what we destroy our life or others all because of gambling, because taking your wife or any other person else for gambling is as well as committing a suicide to that person, because they are being used as stake for what they are not the direct beneficiary or have an agreement to do so.

That event was sharp show of how serious gambling may close thinking side of the brain making people lose sense when in middle of tense fight. It has been found that when there is much stress in bet, people tend to lose focus in fact that they want to win argument other than bet itself, betting crazy amounts simply to show power or have nerve to win over other. Although they may have been joking, such talk is great sign of major danger sign since they have become numb to what counts as normal bets and are mind wise pushing limits of what is mostly right action.

I think you were right in stepping in as they must have been in contest where their pride was on ground and so could say anything just to seem not weak. Once gambling causes people to ignore their own families or lives, even as joke, it has crossed line between fun and bad mind problem where win is bigger deal than human rights.

You who experienced this live should be the one in the best position to tell us if the both men were serious or simply joking, and did their wives respectly know about this bet?

Personally though, I want to 100% believe that both men were simply joking, that is, they weren't actually serious about placing their individual wifes as bets on their favorite sport team..
First is that, this could be seen as a crime and both men (if they were serious) could get arrested and both of them will do jail terms because using another human as a stake on gambling could be seen and treated as human trafficking, it's no different from selling your partner for cash, something that no one will smile to including the government.

So, I believe that both men (if they were or are in their right senses) were simply joking and nothing to take serious.

Did I heard it right? The stake was their wives? First of all thats probably a tripping cause no one on their right mind to bet their wife over gambling. Ive only seen this kind of stuff via social media stories but obviously not happening in real life. Yes watched something like this of case but not betting but selling their wives for a night for money.

Also the wives arent aware of it so technically its illegal unless they know it.

I assumed theres instances that this happened in real life for those families with really problem with poverty but the case of OP is different since its gambling. Like what happened if someone win? Like what will the loser says. Hey wife you come to him cause I loss in bet starting from now you are his property. Like wth right!
