I stepped back versions and landed on 4.5.8 being the latest version that doesn't crash. So starting from 4.6.0 the crashes happen. Hope this helps someone.
Since you managed to pinpoint the affected versions (v4.6.0+), we can check the long list of updates in that version.
That list is too long unfortunately.

There are some worth mentioning:
It could be related to its upgrade from QT5 to QT6, however, the crash only happens in the Addresses tab.
It also bumped the required minimum python version to v3.10 in that update.
And it now uses proprietary dependencies that's developed by Electrum, there may be some dependency issues with your OS.

It bumped the minimum OS requirement but your OS seems to be supported based from the release notes mentioning "MacOS BigSur".

I opened a new issue in their GitHub repository but I think there's not enough information for this to get solved. And I wont be able to reproduce it myself since I don't have that OS.
Feel free to participate in case the developers ask for specific details.

-update-

I encountered a similar issue with 4.7.2 where viewing the addresses would crash the app with Mac OS 11.
The developer asked for additional info that will greatly help fixing this issue:

Quote from: SomberNight
Would be good to know:

  • So does it crash the moment the user switches to the "Addresses" tab?
  • And it only crashes on macOS 11, not on 12?

We would appreciate if @nzbmaster or @REAleksij can answer any of this.
Either here in this thread or in the issue itself if you have a GitHub account.

Thanks for the update!
I'll relay this to the issue in GitHub right away.

I guess the second question can only be answered by other users who has macOS v12 who are will to reproduce this issue.

Kleines Update: mit der 4.3.0 hat es funktioniert. Danke für Eure Hilfe!
Quote
DeepL Translation - Quick update: It worked with version 4.3.0. Thanks for your help!
It would be better in case it's an edge-case regression brought by a later update if you specified which other versions between v.4.3.0 to v4.7.1 are/aren't working.
Like if my suggested version is working, then it must be the latest fix to the recent addresses tab issue that I've mentioned.

Anyways, it's okay if you don't have the time for it.

I tried 4.7.0, 4.6.0 and finally 4.3.0. I have not tried versions in between.

Thanks for taking the time to update.
Another person mentioned that it started in v4.6.0, one version above v4.5.8 that is working; so this supports the results of his test.

As for the status of the issue, the Developer already pointed what might be the cause (one of my guesses above) and already proposed a solution.
But there are other major issues to solve so this may not be in their priority list.

My Mac is too old to upgrade on V12.

My Mac is too old to upgrade on V12.
No worries, it doesn't look like testing it with MacOS 12 will make a significant impact on the issue anyways.
I mean, it's impact on affecting the newer versions of Electrum to support v11 and older.

In fact, one reply in the issue suggested that it'll just bump the minimum requirement to MacOS 12 due to the version of pyQT that Electrum will use if it's a pyQT bug.
Overall, the issue is mostly due to dated OS and new Electrum versions' compatibility.
At least the older versions are still working, just stay away from those old versions with critical vulnerabilities.

BTW, the issue is still open in Electrum, please tell me if it's now okay to close it (at least until someone confirmed that it's working in v12)
since it seems that supporting older MacOS versions in newer releases isn't going to happen because updating pyQT will also require a bump in required OS version.
