If they stopped charging p2p fees, that's good for them because they already know the market is saturated with other counterparts, so they would need to be careful as they do not lose their community to other platforms that already exist.

With respect to the fee, many p2p platform stopped taking fees because they know the market is already competitive and other platforms are on the lookout to get more customers while making their community do their transaction via p2p without anycharges
involved and these are the little things thst keeps customers to keeping patronizing the platform. So if butget realized themselves and wants to make ammend, thats alright to go with.

Let us hope the exchange will not bring it back or maybe they just displayed it anytime people want to make P2P transaction to let them know that there is no fee charged.

You can read about it as it started in February:
https://punchng.com/bitget-launches-zero-fee-p2p-trading-in-naira/
https://www.thisdaylive.com/2026/02/25/bitget-rolls-out-zero-fee-for-p2p-in-naira-markets/
https://businessday.ng/news/article/bitget-rolls-out-zero-fee-for-p2p-in-naira-markets/

Probably Bitget paid those Nigerian news to let people know about it for marketing purposes. You should have seen it on the news because it was on many news.

When Gate, Bybit and other exchanges are not charging fee, maybe more people went to those exchanges and Bitget may notice reduce in P2P users in Nigeria which could have made them to go back to the old ways of zero fee.
Na wetin fit bitget for putting those fees. Your observation is very correct. I personally stopped doing any P2P transactions with bitget and it made me get so used to bybit that I no longer even care about going back to bitget. If Naija people go carry that kind vexation enter other business areas like cement and things like the spaghetti and other areas, things for don good. If one company keep their price high, we leave am for them go dey buy from another company wey dey deliver the same or nearly similar products.

Bitget for no remove the charge na, na so they for become history for Naija users. I no notice am since because I don't already decide say I no go even try am again make they dey their dey.

For some time now, Bitget has stopped charging their normal fees on P2P transactions unlike before now when some percentage of your coins would be taken by the exchange as a fee.
I neva observe am for my side. I do small P2P a few days ago but I nor see dat wan. Anyway, e go dey good if dem begin do am. Although d charges sef nor be wetin go bite persin like fuel and kerosene prices dey do us now for Naija. My major concern for Cexs na for dem to weed out those unscrupulous elements wey dey there to scam inexperienced P2P traders. Also, make Bitget find way to ensure sey any merchants wey nor dey use dem original registered name for dem accounts nor go fit do P2P there.
E don already pass one month wey dem begin do no-fee P2P but if your eyes no sharp you no go even notice am and if you dey in de habit of not reading notices on platforms you go still close am as em pop up based on say your mind don dey for wetin really carry you come de exchange. Me I see am when e start, but I no believe dem until I don confirm am myself after some trades before I carry am come here. Laidis Bitget suppose pay me as na free promotion I do for dem to bring back all dem customers wey don run because of de fee.

Make u dey try round up ur transactions. E dey help us avoid roving eyes from banks or those wey dey trace crypto transactions. Na for awa own good sef. For instance, u for just calculate ur deal to something like ₦40,400 or ₦40,450. Nor dey add kobo join.

I fit round am up by myself?
Most times na de merchants dem dey round am up as dem no dey pay kobo. Most of dem state am clearly for dia rules so I no dey even bother.

I think you must be right with this sense of reasonings because for the exchange to halt extractions of p2p transaction fees from their platforms where it's feasible that also generates income for the company.
Definitely the sudden change of the system must be focused on market driving strategies just to attract users to the platform.
But I feel devastating for beginners who'd consider this development prio to why they've to choose using the exchange instead of prioritizing on their reputations and reliability.

Of course, I believe this is the main reason they scrapped out the charges since they were already losing the clients that flooded to them due to the voluminous scam rate in Bybit to other P2P platforms like Gate, Mexc e.t.c. They actually acted timely because their fees were already pissing people off and they were seriously in search of better alternatives or going back to Bybit.
This na really better market strategy nothing you wan tell me,.. they might have noticed they’re losing customers by adding that charge and there are others that don’t. In this case if you can’t beat them you join them.
In a competitive market you have to be willing to present some incentives to drive more customers thereby increasing revenues. If they can find ways to stop all the P2P scams that’ll be a huge influence in driving more customers.

New to Bitget, maybe but this one na common practice for many exchanges out there. Most of the exchanges you go find no Dey charge fees when you are selling but, the case is different when you are buying. If you Dey buy coin using p2p on an exchange, the exchange go always collect some kind percentage for your hand. Na this thing Dey make many buyers Dey try negotiate on trades and you way Dey sell no go really know watin Dey sup. Some buyers na just people way wan take advantage of the situation shah but normally, exchange no suppose Dey collect you when you Dey sell.

I’m not familiar with p2p transactions on Bitget, so it makes everything sounds new and surprising to me. This is my first time hearing that an exchange will charge you for selling your coins to fiat, it is really interesting to have heard their reason for doing that but since they’ve now stopped, maybe they’ve now seen the negative sensation of them doing that and decides to stop.

Bitget is not the only exchange one can go to exchange their coins to fiat, there are many options out there which makes theirs not competitive and makes them even want to lose more customers embracing their p2p services like before. There are other ways profits can be generated from an exchange, but using this method is really not making sense to me.

Since you are not sending the money to yourself you cannot round it up but if you want a round up, what you will do is to contact the buyer not to send those Kobo that's associated on the amount but however you might also not need to contact them sometimes because is like a policy to all the merchant on the exchange, some would inform you before paying and some will not inform you but will not send any Kobo so actually you don't have to be scared. People use to think that it could create a problem for them but that's not how I see it because there is an amount you would withdraw that would create a question even when you did not receive a Kobo.
