Being discouraged over a bet is a regular thing that happens to every active gambler. Sometimes you are discouraged by friends and other times you are even discouraged by yourself and this is completely normal. This has happened to me a few times, and it's very frustrating. Nowadays I avoid thinking about any predictions if I don't intend to bet on the match or game; that way I avoid dwelling on why I didn't bet, that I could have won, in short, everything that will only make the situation worse.

Well, a lot of times really, but not all discouragements lead to success, most of the time I got screwed and lose all my funds. That's a lesson for us to be more serious when making betting analysis so that the rate of success will be higher than its losing probability.

I'm not going to lie, those kinds of comebacks are not something you expect. And sure,  I have also seen a first half that was boring turn into a second half of non stop scoring. But to be honest, I don't see that as just something normal anymore. Personally,  I find that discouragement as a sign that things are not actually going as planned.  There's still a chance that things might go the other way, but most times it doesn't goes the other way. I have made myself in a way that I don't put hope in those moments.

This days when I place my bet,  is either I remove my mind completely from the game or always try to be realistic and not let all those lucky comeback to give me false hope,  when I already know the outcome of the game.

Haha, so relatable. I'm from the under gang and usually bet on under goals. It happens a lot of times where I bet under 2.5 and then see 2 goals in the first half but then luck turns around and the remaining game goes goalless.

Oh yeah, not betting on something and later watching it happen is an even worse feeling than losing a close bet. Because that makes you tilt and then you make some bets in frustration which more often than not, you end up losing.

It's better to bet and then return when the game is over because that saves your time and you don't go through a rollercoaster of emotions.

Like, so true, most of the times self it doesn’t even have to be a friend that will discourage you, it’s mostly yourself…  I do get that feeling a lot, should I try my luck today of not, you know that kind of feelings…
And most times, it’s come often when I encounter a little consecutive losses..

So it’s very normal for gamblers to experience all of those little discouragement, it shouldn’t be a big deal.. As long as we follow our feelings and try as much as possible now to push ourselves, when we don’t feel like gambling that day..

In my many years of gambling experience, I won only 3 times in such unexpected matches, as far as I remember, one was in football gambling, and the other 2 were in what may have been a cricket game; these mostly happen in sports gambling, because the game result can be changed at the last minute. I always gamble at low odds, so I don't have to take any big risks. When I see my favorite team losing, I don't cash out, because even if I lose that bet, it can't have any negative effect on me. Yes, don't make it a big deal but when you're disappointed it is best to go away from what you're using to your bets. Go away from the PC or put away your phone.

Because at that moment, you're so emotional that you might do reckless decisions with your bets or you'd do batches of bets due to that.

But do something that won't let you do that because you're losing control, and then by being emotional. There's a little chance that you will appreciate your small wins.

Of course, this is why its called gambling because your bets have no fixed outcome. No matter how positive you are with your bet, there's always chances of losing along the way. And we turn to be emotional and get discouraged especially if we are no longer seeing winning chances, and that's when it all suddenly end up winning the least we expected it to be.

So you see, gambling works in unpredictable ways. But most of the time, it works opposite from our expectations and plans.

I personally have had few moments like this and I think every other regular gambler has too. One of those moments was Portugal vs Egypt match back in 2018 which ended in a 2:1 win for Portugal, I had my bets for Portugal to win and that was the last bet on my slip.

This situation happened to me twice recently. For the first case, it was for Arsenal to win and City win or draw and that was the day they faced Everton abd City faced West ham. Towards the ending of the match probably around the 80th minute, I saw a cashout offer for 10-15% of my stake amount and I took it because the lack of goals throughout the game made me accept that the win I was hoping for won't be coming. After they cashout, Arsenal eventually went on to win that game with 2 late goals. What's worst is that I let it get in my head and immediately placed an even bigger bet on City MLso I can recover but that game ended 1-1.

My original bet would've been successful and I would be net positive on the day but I lose a nice chunk of my staking power that day.

And this can happen in different stages, it could happen in the first halve of the match or even towards the end of the second halve, and you would see your favourite club loosing the match at the die minutes. At this point you could even be tempted to tear your  bet slip, but as the game finally ends, you see your bet or ticket ticking all green.

It did for so many times with my esports bet. The first few minutes weren't going well to the teams that I have bet for and they don't have any hope to win. But as minutes passed, they're able to do a come back. And that's why don't lose hope for the team or player you bet for until the time or the game ends because, that won't count as a result if you're dismay and the game is still on going.

Of course, this happens many times. It is super tilting, especially when you bet on low odds for wagering and then it starts going badly because even if it wins eventually, you don't get big winnings. Like if you bet on draw no bet Everton on the 80th minute mark, when they are 1-0 ahead, you get tilted when the other team scores because now you can genuinely lose the bet and the best case might be a refund.

It happens and not much can be done about it. I have realized that the best and only way to make money from sports betting is through parlays and high odds betting because while it hits less frequently, it pays big and covers up for the losses leading up to that win.
