That’s pretty much me.... After I finish work and just want to relax for a bit, I open my phone, go to my usual casino and check the slot games first. It’s always the same few games too, I don’t even bother with most of the others anymore.

At this point it kinda feels like a habit already(hmmm....)))). Like after a long day, that’s one of the first things I end up doing without even thinking much about it.

Sometimes I wonder if I actually enjoy it that much or if I’m just used to doing it whenever I want to unwind. Anyone else the same?

I've experienced this kind of thing but fortunately it didn't last long enough because the busyness kept coming so I didn't have much time to gamble until today, only weekends are free I can think of gambling calmly, don't make it a regular habit so that you stay safe, because usually every time we feel bored we will do gambling, even though we can still share other things that we can do besides gambling, such as fishing, family gatherings, eating food, or reading books, or other physical activities such as exercising to strengthen your muscle mass so that your body can always be seen cool.

When there's nothing to choose from to unwind, we have no choice but to do what we do out of habit, and that is playing in a casino. For me, it's a crash game, but even if it's an exciting game to play, if you're doing it out of boredom, it will not excite you. I stopped doing this because it's just a waste of time and money.
I only play it when I feel like having fun, but never out of boredom.

This is quite strange to me, if I'm bored the only think that comes from my mind is to see a movie then while doing that I will just fall asleep. One thing about me is that I don't gamble like others I have my own time when I gamble but it must not be that very time that I'm bored rather it is when I'm done with works let's say during my free time then I can decide to pass a little time with gamble.

And even if I'm going to do that when I'm bored, it must not be on slot because slot can easily make ones bankroll to go dry within the space of 15-20 minutes.

Since you know it's becoming a habit, you should start reducing how you visit those apps, and find some other fun things to do when you are done with work.
It's also not bad as long as you maintain how you gamble and still manage to gamble responsibly.

I don't visit gambling apps when I am bored, I prefer watching some movies and doing research but certainly not one particular stuff to avoid addiction.
Frequently the thing you see as having fun or just whining away time can because addictive and it will be difficult to fight.

But you’re right sometimes it feels like it can relieve boredom, but on the other hand it has a different kind of appeal where, if we can’t control ourselves, it can cause us to lose self control.

Addiction often start like this, you might thinking that you are enjoying the game without remembering that you dragging addiction closer to yourself until it gets worster before you will realize yourself. We shouldn't allow gambling activities to control us even though most gamblers are just after the fun at the same time we should always try to be mindful of the game because a little chances can easily get you into more denger. So it's necessary to apply self control and not by trying all the time after all the outcome still remains the same thing.

When I want to relax, I play free games, mostly solitaire. It's a great mental exercise, a bit of relaxation, and isn't bad for my financial health. I'm not a casino player, but I do play occasionally. But I don't do it out of boredom. Playing out of boredom is, in my opinion, a rather dangerous motivation for gambling. You need to play mindfully, when you have a compelling reason to do so.

I will say that is really addiction or maybe you are getting close to addiction but I believe you should know if you are addicted to it or not and I will advise or suggest you try to fight that urge anytime it comes because it won't do you any good even if you may be playing for fun. However, there are games you can actually play for fun and not slot because in slot game the chances of getting addicted is very slim, I'm not an addict but I know how enticing and dangerous slot can be.

Maybe you don't want to moves to other gambling games but slot. You feels that is the easiest gambling games you can play and no need to set much things and you only need to deposit or directly playing the slot games.

I feels that too but I place a bet after I check in the sports betting section and I see the match that I can analyze. Although the chance of wins is not big, I can takes the risk and while waiting for the result, I may play slots. That is common thing that some gamblers do after their busy day, they don't want to do serious thing or analyze the match and only wants to relax and slot will be their choice.

Slot is the game that gives me more stress than relaxation most of the time because it gives me frequent loses than win like 20:1 ratio for my L/W.

Blackjack is my comfort because I feel the sense of control on my game due to count and card strategy.

I wish I had more hours in day that I would get bored I wish I had more money that I would use slots to kill boredom Whenever I am bored, slots or gambling wont be in my list among things that makes me entertained. When I am bored, I prefer either to spend a little time scrolling fun videos, or chat with friends. Friends always help me to fight boredom. From your explanation I understand that you have become very interested in slot games but I would tell you to be a little careful with your slot playing because you may become addicted to the way you have started becoming interested. People become addicted to something out of excessive interest but people do not become addicted to something all at once.

I am not so addicted to playing slot games. When I participate in gambling, I participate in sports betting just for entertainment because sports are very dear to me and I really enjoy analyzing and predicting sports matches and this is where I find my entertainment.

I know the feeling & we feel the same bros @Vaculin. After all the tiring work, the first thing that crossed my mind to relax for a moment was slots. There is nothing wrong with that actually, until the losing session comes, imagine how it feels after working so hard & then we find out that we don't get any profit from gambling. But that still doesn't matter as long as the money we deposit is money we can afford to lose.

If it was a few years ago then I would answer that I am one of the people who are in this kind of thinking because when I feel bored and even bored with the work I do then my escape place is the slot but for now I don't seem to feel this anymore especially when there are several other things that become thoughts and pleasures then the slot seems to be forgotten.  It is undeniable that I also sometimes still play casino games including for slots but at this time it can be counted on the fingers not like before who was too dependent on slots and had to do it every week.

Habits like this are clearly not very good to continue doing so it would be better to try to minimize so that we don't let these kinds of things (gambling is always sought after) become a routine that will have a greater impact on us.

When you gamble, especially on slots, you shouldn’t expect consistent profit. It’s more about aiming big while risking small, that’s how it should be.

For example, if you deposit $10, you aim to hit something like $1000.
That’s a more realistic mindset if you want to feel satisfied when you win, while still being okay if you lose.

To b fair, it's more common for me to be bored of slots than me being bored enough to go play slots. Slots are not that much fun for me, it's something that doesn't require that much brain, or thinking, you just click a button and wait for a result, it has nothing that requires me to do, it can be done by a bot and not me and it would still be doing the exact same results, I have no input that matters.

This is why I prefer sports betting, at least it requires me to do a bit of thinking, sure you do not need to be a genius to bet on matches, after all anyone can do it, but at least it requires you to have a thought like an input that would decide the result and not just automatic without you having anything to do with it.

However, for this I’m not one of those who experiences it not once!

I know people who unwind by drinking a few bottles of beer after the day's work. They have been doing this for many years and are not abusing it. Some of them don't abuse alcohol or get drunk. If a gambler believes that playing slots after work helps him to relax, that's not bad. As much as he is gambling responsibly that's okay. But I understand your view that it shouldn't be a routine activity. There should be some level of control. There should be other things to do besides gambling.

Exactly, I do see gambling as something that has some high adrenaline rush that you could be in control and lost at the same time, if you must find a thing to unwind on, maybe something that should have a positive side effect should be considered but however you are extremely correct that if it’s not abused than it’s not bad, I agree with you. But I personally rather go into a painting room and draw my stress everyday which will make me relax and at the end could be sold or could become a good habit.

This is a bad habit and it's the definition of compulsive gambling really.

I would recommend some time of abstantion and actually picking up a more neutral hobby that is lower in the instant rewards sector of the brain. Like pick up a book or read some newspaper or study some philosophy or history.

Compulsion needs to be fought because when paired with gambling can have disastrous effects.

I actually once like you. I get thrilled and excited every time I play slots, and that becomes my comfort zone every time I feel restless. It only stopped when my income has reduced, and its hard for me to spare money for slots because I'm already living paycheck to paycheck.

But in your current position, if you think the joy that is being brought by slots is incomparable, then I think that's a good thing. But just be cautious you don't overspend because you're going too emotional, because that would definitely lead to addiction.

A lot have fallen into addiction with slots, so don't be too confident that you'll be an exception.
