Sometimes I wonder if I actually enjoy it that much or if I’m just used to doing it whenever I want to unwind. Anyone else the same?

I think something similar has happened to many people. I had the same experience, but it was most likely due to boredom. But I quickly realized that a second day in a row is too much I need to somehow minimize the time spent playing games.Only distraction with something else can change the focus. You can go for a run or watch an interesting movie - this helps.

I can read majority of the comments, people here saying stuffs like it is out of place to consider slots a fun thing to do when bored. That’s pretty much me.... After I finish work and just want to relax for a bit, I open my phone, go to my usual casino and check the slot games first. It’s always the same few games too, I don’t even bother with most of the others anymore.

At this point it kinda feels like a habit already(hmmm....)))). Like after a long day, that’s one of the first things I end up doing without even thinking much about it.

That's just really common for a thing that gives bursts of Dopamine, and when a person is bored the mind automatically tries to persuade us into doing that work ( gambling, etc) which gives dopamine. Dopamine is great and bad at the same time. It's a Great thing when it's associated to a beneficial thing but becomes a curse when it's associated to an injurious/bad thing i.e gambling, video games, po*n etc.

There should be an activity that you engage in when you are bored. I don't gamble because I am bored because there are other things to do. Hanging out with my family is my preferred choice when I am bored. I accept your verdict that there is nothing wrong with cooling off by gambling if it doesn't have any negative effect on your finances and other areas. Some responses to those threads don't like the idea because it could lead to addiction.

In my opinion based on what you described you have high chance of developing gambling addiction... If I were in your situation I'd try to make a pause for few days or weeks to see the reaction. If you react badly to the abstinence that could mean that addiction already developed and that it is time to seek professional help...

This may not necessarily be path to addiction as long as he’s
1. Doing it moderately
2. Don’t allow it get in the way of other activities
3. Gambling with and on a reasonable budget and
4. Only doing it to unwind.

Although gambling is meant to be enjoyed, and if you’re not sure you’re actually enjoying it, then it’s probably because you’re losing more than intended and you’re not always sticking to a reasonable budget, and if that’s the case, the. It’s a clear indication that you stop and vividly define your reason for gambling.

You're right, I think hanging out with family is the best thing everyone should do when feeling bored rather than going to the slot to cool off,  and surely there's nothing wrong with that as a matter of fact, we all have the right to decide or go for something we know is best for us, but it is bad when we finally make this to be part of us, at least sometimes when you feel bored you should also think of other things to do it must not be slot, slot, slot all the time.

I think you need to be very careful by not allow gambling to be what can make your day when you are bored. Their are other things thst can make you have a wonderful time. The most important thing is for you to have limit in gambling,  a limit which wont cause you to be so much attached to gambling.

When one is so attached to gambling it can make one to be addicted to gamnling. I feel gambling should even be the least thing to think about that will while away ones time, and to make not to be bored.

I'm also in the same boat, playing slots has been my outlet especially after a tiring day or when boredom strikes. And even if we all know that its purely luck-based, and we can lose our money easily, still there's inside of us that are telling us to try our luck with slots. Until I get used to it and slowly losing my valuable income.

Until such time I realized that this is no longer fun, especially when I can't get rid of the losses already. So I make it to a point to control the urge towards playing slots, after all its no longer beneficial for me, financially, mentally and emotionally.

I guess you are way to go OP. Its never bad to play slots, but addiction is never fun at all. You have to do something with it before reality hits you.

My point here, you don't have to let yourself fall on the trap of gambling addiction. Maybe for now, you're still enjoying it, but once you start making decent losses, that should be an eye opener already.

Slots is really giving us a different joy and satisfaction, not until addiction gets into the picture. You know its not just all about boredom, but if you let that greed to win controls you, then its no longer fun and exciting to be honest.

Well, that's just how OP managed to kill his boredom, and I see nothing wrong with it. We live with different life's preferences, and probably gambling could be part of it. The only key here, just don't fall into the trap, and everything will be alright.

If you are doing it for fun, make sure you don't cross that line, just gamble when you think you need some entertainment, and keep track with your emotions. If you don't, you know where its heading to, so always be cautious when gambling.

I've never been really interested in slot games. I usually play poker and blackjack and to be honest, both get kinda boring after several days of playing. I've played blackjack and poker 2 days ago and I don't feel any urge to play them right now. Maybe I will get back to one of my online casino accounts tomorrow or maybe after 2 or 3 days. I totally understand how slot games can become addicting and how the people get easily hooked, but slot games simply isn't my cup of tea. OP, it seems that this habit is growing on you. It's like smoking cigars. You don't enjoy it as you used to, but your brain wants more of it.

We have same interests on Blackjack but in my case I do enjoy playing it on daily basis because I do like exploring my card counting skills with the current of online blackjack multiple decks and cuts when shoe is half.

Slot is the best game if you are already board on your best game since it’s no brainer and you can calm your mind while waiting for a good hit.

I’m not a fan too of slot but I do use it alternative game when boredom hits me.
