WARNING: BTGS Discord server is actively serving malware to members attempting to re-verify.

The server was recently compromised and members were asked to re-verify via the Ares bot. During the verification flow, a fake "Cloudflare" popup appears with the following instructions:

1) Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog
2) Paste the verification text by pressing CTRL + V
3) Press OK to verify you're not a robot

This is a well-documented attack called ClickFix. The page silently loads a malicious PowerShell command into your clipboard, then instructs you to execute it via the Windows Run dialog under the guise of bot verification. It has nothing to do with Cloudflare. This is precisely how Discord servers get compromised and how the attack spreads to new victims.

The server recovery announcement was made by an account called 'annonone' — not SatoshiGold, the listed lead developer.
SatoshiGold has not posted any official statement explaining the compromise, who annonone is, or whether the server is actually safe.

If you have already followed those instructions: disconnect from the internet, run a full malware scan immediately, rotate all passwords and Discord tokens, and check any browser-based crypto wallets for unauthorized activity.

Do not re-enter this server or click any links from it until the team provides a verifiable public explanation of what happened and evidence the attack vector has been closed.

Unfortunately, my personal account was compromised. The attacker gained control of my account and transferred ownership of the Discord server to themselves. After that, malicious verification messages were posted to members.

I personally issued warnings from my official account across all servers and communities where our members may be present. Many community members have already witnessed what happened.

This incident also affected our official Telegram channel. My official Telegram account was compromised, and the channel was taken over by the attacker.

Do NOT click any verification links or follow any "verification" instructions from the compromised Discord server. These are not legitimate and may put your devices and assets at risk.
We strongly recommend leaving the compromised Discord server and the old Telegram channel until further notice.

I apologize for not posting this warning here earlier. I was unable to access my BitcoinTalk account during the incident. I now have access again and want to officially inform the community.

Dear BTGS Community,
We are pleased to announce the successful release of BTGS Core v30.2.3, an important security and network stability update.
This release introduces several important improvements and consensus-level updates designed to strengthen the BTGS network, improve node compatibility, and ensure a safer and more reliable ecosystem for all users, miners, exchanges, and service providers.
BTGS Core v30.2.3 Highlights:
Consensus security update
Implementation of the BTGS frozen address protection mechanism.
Prevention of spending from designated frozen BTGS addresses after the activation height.
Additional safeguards at the transaction validation layer.
Network stability improvements
Updated core components and metadata verification.

Node upgrade requirement
All full node operators, miners, explorers, and service providers are requested to upgrade to BTGS Core v30.2.3.
