The only solution to this oil crisis to stop, when ever big players in the world oil and gas sector have crisis like this is so countries to have their oil refined in their homeland, especially the countries which are oil producers. Because if a country can produce their oil by themselves I don't think that the effects will be much stronger like this. Even though the raw oil will be imported it will be better to refine locally.
Countries that ain't oil producing countries as OPEC nations can't produce oil even if they have dozens of refineries, they can only refine and not produce because naturally they don't have it as a resource. They may make large reserves in cushioning for scenarios of this kind of oil crisis we have right now as caused by Trump's starting of a war against other nation aside with Israel. Maybe this should serve as a lesson to other nations about the necessity to create large oil reserves to sustain their citizens in periods of months of oil crisis.

Unfortunately, the current government in my country is not highly focused on coming up with best solutions to combat the rising price of oil, but everyone is busy preparing for their political moves just to prevent someone from becoming a new leader in my country.
Obviously, this does not help at all. While other countries are into solving the problem and providing assistance to their citizens, my country is up with impeachment, leaving the citizens struggling to survive from the crisis on their own.
You just spoke about almost the same thing that is happening in my country. The government has not come up with any programme to alleviate the suffering of the masses. Petrol price has increased and other commodities have also gone up. Next year is an election, so they are busy strategising on means to grab power. We are hoping to see them make policies that will help reduce the effects of this war. The war has entered its 37th day, and oil price have nearly doubled compared to before the conflict broke out. It can be said that it has a very negative impact on the economy. I believe that all government have activated response measures and support package to alleviate pressure on the economy. If they had not intervened, thing would have been much worse than what we are experiencing now. However, there will be differences between countries because each government has different capabilities. Perhap your country does not have a large budget or reserves, so the support will be limited and not felt very clearly. It is not that they did not intervene and provide support. Government resources are limited, and we are facing a serious crisis. Do not demand that everything be the same as before, even with government support.

Good research has been done to slightly eliminate this fuel hybrid, but it will not be possible in reality because for those who have to physically participate in the office and work, it will become very messy to do office work at home instead of going to the office. However, it will be more problematic for those who travel by transport. In short, the fuel crisis is a global problem that needs to be solved very carefully. If the global crisis war does not stop, then this problem will not be solved, that is, to solve this problem, the world will have to work together.
During covid, when I had to work remotely, my productivity (and other employees also) has decreased and company was earning less. When I worked from home, I have noticed that I eat more. I drink coffee more often, I often have snacks between, eat apples and grapes all the time. Sometimes I think that money I have saved on fuel I have spend on food, so I dont get any significant saving from not going to work by car. It would be much better if government decrease VAT and excise tax on oil, that is the only working solution I see, because everything else is only finding compromises.

in my country, the government is busy traveling to France and England in preparation for his second tenure in office and i think that is what maters most to the politicians now in my country and not even the insurgency or terrorism but how to return to office for second term and if we complain so much, the government gives us rice as they believe everyone in the country is hungry and maybe we don't need to argue with them no more as the hungry masses would always prefer a bird at hand over two in bush.
a lot of people are already switching over to solar powers for their household electricity usage a the price of fuel is already becoming something else and he issue with electricity is nothing to write home about and i feel more ashamed that other country government are seeking ways to help their citizens and ours is seriously seeking ways to task us even through toll gates as they don't care about what we are going through as long as they are not directly affected

Because if a country can produce their oil by themselves I don't think that the effects will be much stronger like this. Even though the raw oil will be imported it will be better to refine locally.
This is neither a solution, nor an idea, nor a secret. I believe every country know that, and everyone want to be self sufficient rather than dependent on other countries. But that is easier said than done, and the oil refining process is not as simple as we might think. But for a good government to deal with the issue of this oil shortage due to the blockage of the strait of Hormuz some times ago, is for government to introduce subsides on transportation to their citizens. Government should pay half of the transportation cost to reduce the effects of the rise in the price of petroleum products.
The government could introduce support packages to help cover the cost of transporting oil, but to do so, they would have to spend more budget, print more money, or increase public debt. Ultimately, the price to pay is inflation, and the people are the ones who bear the consequences. Do you want inflation to rise? Once again, it is easier said than done.

As a Pakistani citizen, you are right about the work days. The workdays have been reduced to 4 with an extra off day on Friday. Honestly it feels good hahaa. Finally we have more time to rest. No worrying about Office or Schools or other jobs but we have to think here as a state not as a person. From the perspective of the state it is not a great thing because the Prices are increasing very much and the reduced work hours may slow the projects and works of the state. We as Pakistani want Pakistan to get oil from Iran but it's because of the USA that Pakistan can't delay with them openly though it's getting smuggled in Pakistani knowingly or unknowingly but still the prices are same and increasing.

On a personal level, having fewer workdays really does feel like a relief and better rest, more time with family, and even less daily pressure and anyone would enjoy that, buh looking at it this days from the country’s perspective, it becomes very complicated. Reducing workdays can slow down productivity, especially for a developing country where consistent progress is really important. Projects, businesses, and government operations might take longer, and that can indirectly affect the economy. So while people are resting more, the economy might not be moving at the same pace, which can contribute to rising prices. The oil situation you mentioned is also a big factor, but then it is frustrating because geographically getting oil from Iran seems like a practical solution for Pakistan but international politics most especially pressure from powerful countries like the united states, make it difficult to act freely. So even if fuel is entering through informal means, it does not necessarily stabilize prices because the system is not actually transparent.

Reduction of work hours: Work from home: Fuel eationing: Fuel tax cuts and subsidies: Free or subsidied transportation: Welfare package: Stop oil exportation: Stockpiling: Alternative source of power:Take off your jacket : What's happening in your country? In my own country it doesn't look like any of measures have been put in place to help us cushion the effects of the high oil prices, as a matter of fact it looks like things are even getting more terrible because electricity supply which was never constant before has now dropped so much that some people do not even see light in their homes for up to one week in a month. As for transportation it has increased a lot, and employers have not chosen to allow some non essential workers work from home. It is as if we are the ones fighting the war directly because of how bad things have become.

From what country you are in? it's shame that these politicians are thinking of their travel if it's not related to job or welfare of their people and country. If it's all about retaining themselves in position and power, I hope that the people in your country will vote the right one next time. a lot of people are already switching over to solar powers for their household electricity usage a the price of fuel is already becoming something else and he issue with electricity is nothing to write home about and i feel more ashamed that other country government are seeking ways to help their citizens and ours is seriously seeking ways to task us even through toll gates as they don't care about what we are going through as long as they are not directly affected
I also want to have a solar powered house so that first, if there will be rotational black outs, I won't be affected and my solar power will be the one to sustain it. But to be honest, having one right now is quite expensive and I've got more use needed the capital that I should spend there. Hopefully, if things go well in the nearest future that will be my next investment.

I mentioned earlier at the ASEAN meeting that Indonesia is a country that has not experienced an increase in fuel prices amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Most recently, it was confirmed following a meeting between the Minister of Finance and the House of Representatives that our Indonesian Minister of Finance stated in that meeting that Indonesia will maintain stable fuel prices at least through 2026—neither rising nor falling—even if the average global oil price reaches US$100 per barrel. In our country, the prices of fuel, diesel, and gas have gone up, and that is causing a lot of problems because when these things get expensive, we know that the overall economy face problems and inflation increases because those who get products at a higher price will sell them at a higher price as well. The only people who are less affected in such times are those who are running businesses because they don't need to compromise on anything, if something was being sold for $5 before, they sell it for $10 now because of the costs and everything, and they basically still get the worth of their product. So mostly, it's the general population that suffers from this, especially those who are employed because wages have not been increased.
If you have been earning $5,000 a month before, and you had around $4,900 worth of expenses for the month, and now the expenses have gone up way above $5,000 but you are still getting $5,000 as your pay, you will surely face problems because you can't do anything since everyone has to spend money on basic necessities and now those necessities require more funding. Government officials or employees also face no problems because they get bonuses or services from the government that cover everything for them, and they also earn good money, but it's the general population that is suffering.

What's happening in your country?
As far as I have seen the biggest victims of the oil crisis in our country are motorcycle riders. Because almost every day they have to go to the office by motorcycle but when they go to get oil, they are not given more than two dollars of oil. And they have to stand in line for about two to three hours to get that two dollars of oil. And now the delay in judgment has increased a lot. And the decision that the government has taken in our country is to reduce the working hours of the office. And except for emergency things like medical and hotels, almost all physical businesses will close in the evening. And the proposal to take classes in schools and colleges online has been proposed, this has not been implemented yet. Now when I go out, what I see more is that there are more battery powered vehicles, the number of vehicles that run on oil has decreased a lot.

If motorcycle owners get only few dollar worth amount of petrol, then I suppose there are limits set by government, then how much car drivers get? If they also get few dollar worth amount of petrol, than it is nothing. A motorcycle on 1l of petrol can make 20-30km easily. Car on same amount of petrol might not even start if its tank is completely empty. By the way, there are electric motorcycles. If motorcycling is popular in your country, why not slowly switch to electric models? They arent as expensive as EV. Imo, limiting how much 1 person can buy petrol isnt solution. Government must fight with high fuel price, but not with low fuel stock.

In my country the increase is starting to be felt and has been announced since April 1st and not only in fuel but some imported supplies that are disrupted due to current geopolitics, even plastic has increased even reaching 90 percent (in my area) which makes things more difficult for small businesses.
The business I run requires plastic and I usually spend around $176-$200 (if converted to the current USD exchange rate) to buy plastic in a week but currently for a week I have spent around $385 just for plastic and this makes the inflation even more. At the end of the day when tensions are still happening the impact will be felt for all and only a few countries in conflict now all countries feel the tremendous increase.

The government is preparing for another batch that will be given with cash assistance, but I don't think the real purpose here is to temporarily ease the burden from the rising oil price, but its more likely they are using this current crisis to start preparing for the upcoming election next year.
Everything in my country is done with political motives, so I don't really trust the government these days. They only treat their people right, but disrespect those who are on the opposite side. I don't know if I'm the only one seeing this, but I really think these people sitting on the government are not really genuine on helping the people.

Surely you are right that even if non-oil producing countries like OPEC countries have refineries, they cannot produce oil because we understand that they can only refine. In fact, at this moment, many countries in the world may be realizing how important it is to stockpile oil. I am giving evidence that many countries in the Asian continent are currently suffering simply because the supply of oil is not at the right level. I saw in a news report that the Philippines and Pakistan have introduced a four-day work week. You may understand that they are doing this to reduce fuel costs on the other hand, Indonesia is supposed to limit fuel sales to 50 liters per day, it seems that this is how these countries are coping with the high price of oil. Several Asian countries including the Philippines and Pakistan have introduced a four-day working week to cut back on fuel consumption while Sri Lanka has declared Wednesdays as public holidays for its government institutions, while Indonesia will implement a work from home day every Friday as well as limit fuel sales at 50 litres per-day from 1 April.

People that have businesses that depend majorly on gases are the most affected because of the shortage in circulation of fuel around the world. I don't know the plan of the United States to solve this problem but if this continues, it is going to have a big effect on the sustainability of many countries in the world which is going to lead to lose of job opportunities and many factories are going to close down because of the high cost of running production processes. The production process is very effective to meet up with the demand of the consumers and if there are not gas available, this will become a serious problem.

Cash assistance doesn't produce lasting solutions. These aids are often given during election times, aiming to change voters' opinions. None of this is a permanent solution; what's important is finding lasting solutions and protecting the public during major economic crises. When a state has a good economic system, the degree to which it is affected by neighboring wars or wars it participates in can vary. Of course, the economic consequences of wars are generally bad, but if there's one thing more important than the economy, it's not allowing innocent people to be left in dire straits. Today, one of the most important things is economic strength, and having economic strength means that citizens are better prepared for economic hardship and are affected as little as possible by these problems.

Producing oil ain't as easy like you said. Any countries have different production capacity. Their tech also matter a lot to process the oil. Some oil needs special process, which can be done only in the developed countries such as US. It's not all of countries have oil sources too. Producing is very complicated to do. It's involving very very long process. It's not like you just turn up the drill and pump oil from the earth as many as you can. If producing oil as simple as pumping it with your drill. I believe all of countries would do that by themselves.

What about car drivers? If motorcycle owners get only few dollar worth amount of petrol, then I suppose there are limits set by government, then how much car drivers get? If they also get few dollar worth amount of petrol, than it is nothing. A motorcycle on 1l of petrol can make 20-30km easily. Car on same amount of petrol might not even start if its tank is completely empty.
Private car owners have been limited to 10 liters of fuel at a time. And public transport can take a maximum of 200 to 220 liters of fuel per day. That's why I said motorcycle riders are in more hassles. By the way, there are electric motorcycles. If motorcycling is popular in your country, why not slowly switch to electric models? They arent as expensive as EV.
Electric motorcycles are not that popular in our country. But they are slowly becoming popular. If everyone starts buying an electric motorcycle at once, then the electricity crisis will increase even more. Imo, limiting how much 1 person can buy petrol isnt solution. Government must fight with high fuel price, but not with low fuel stock.
Although the government is providing subsidies to control the price of oil, in the current situation there is no other option but to follow this rule. Because if one person alone takes 10-25 liters of oil, then the other person may not get even 1 liter.
