I mean, there will definitely be some members here that will need that kind of hardcore advice. We are responsible for everything that we do, and if we want to gamble, we must make sure that everything is still under our control, including our lives outside of gambling.
It's not just financially that can be ruined by gambling. Our lifestyle, too, and especially our time. If it's messed up when we start gambling and get hooked on it, then it's best to quit. Remember, gambling will always be here and there. It won't go away. It's we who must be in control.

Op you need to understand that gambling itself is not the problem rather it is gamblers that is causing problems to themselves and shift blames to the house. Although your advise is not bad at least a gambler is suppose to gamble responsibly without getting addicted to gambling because is not a source of income but I don't know why most gamblers are just after the money and it is the main reason why they are getting addicted to quickly. This post has made me to flashback what I suffered from the hands of addiction when I was in the university. Addiction is like a plague that should be avoided because it will ruin your entire life if you don't release yourself early. This is the reason why I and a couple of people on this gambling board advocates for responsible gambling and having fun while you're at it, no need to go into gambling with all the intentions of making money through it. There are a lot of gamblers out there who still live in dreamlands believing that very soon they will hit the jackpot that will make them millionaires meanwhile they are still chasing loses to recover what they have lost so far. People only think about stopping when they realize that they already experience lots of losses and they didn't gain anything on gambling. But once people continue to enjoy not only getting winning, also enjoyment when playing with other people this realization will never came out.

But its good if they realize the situation while early, because it will be so destructive if they think about quitting then struggle to do it because they are hook and seems like experiencing addiction. That's the reason its good to balance this activity and don't put all their attention, so that they can exit and they won't experience financial and emotional hardship when dealing their vices.

Think about what gambling does to you. How does this affect your life? I don't know who needs to hear this but someone on this forum is ruining their life right now. I don't know if anyone really has a problem but I have a gut feeling that there are many and all they need is a little nudge from someone they don't know but maybe could benefit from listening to. Take out a pen and a blank sheet of paper right now and write down the pros and cons list. Write down how much money you have won vs lost in the last 30 days.  Write down all the things that gambling has negatively done to you in the past month, now write down all that is has done for you positively in the last month. If you piece of paper looks like shit then "go fish". Find a new addiction that will actually change your life in a good way. Become obsessed with reinventing yourself and prove everyone wrong about the loser you have become.

Tell yourself you're going to be successful and actually believe that shit. Stop being a fucking loser and make something of your life. I see so many posts like oh no I am addicted and oh no this and that and i'm sick of seeing zero action being done. You're not a victim to gambling you make shitty life choices and you need to man tf up and deal with your problematic past and become a contributing member to your own life. Be a good person. While it's admirable to attempt it, nobody is really going to listen to a stranger when they've most likely ignored approaches by close friends and family who tell them to stop. The better thing to do might be to steer them towards self help books that teach more comprehensive techniques on quitting and how to get an addiction under control. However I would guess that most people here are actually just casual gamblers and are don't have an all consuming addiction that is a problem. Replacing one addiction for another is actually a bad suggestion, you want more variety in life which involves many different hobbies and activities, but I guess if you go from one that costs you a lot of money to one that costs you nothing it is still a major improvement.

Anyone who is addicted to gambling needs to seek help. As OP has said, there is a need for periodic evaluation, not just of gambling but of other aspects of our lives. If you realise that gambling is affecting your finances, family and other aspects negatively, you need to stop.

Taking a break from gambling is a good way to recover from addiction and get your life back. Gambling should be seen as a means of entertainment and taking it further than this is unacceptable. Allowing gambling to affect other important parts of your life is not good.

I'm just going to assume that this post is not for me, I gamble from time to time and sometimes I lose, but the simple truth of the matter if that I wouldn't have used that particular money for anything productive as OP wants, I'm not an addict, I have good control over my gambling and it's not wreaking my life, the money is gamble with is discretionary and it's even a small percentage of my discretionary income so it's not much at all, I actually even spend more on other irrelevancies than I spend of gambling. Anyone who is struggling with gambling addiction should listen to what OP is saying though.

Honestly gambling is a serious social issues that has caused so many problems, relationships even marriages are negatively affect by gambling, parents to children even sibling to siblings problems. Gambling has made some people a problem to their community. Gambling has recked life's. That virus is dangerous and contagious. However, it is also manageable and can be completely cured that's if on addicted level but it requires high level of discipline, an every day decision to cure the virus. Every day decision because you will likely fail yourself "I won't gamble again" and the next day or week even that same day, you are on it again. After such failure, what is supposed to follow is that same mean decision to stop it. Overtime for many people it will stop.

It's like saying to those who smoke, drink or play games why don't you read a book instead of spending time and money on drinks and cigarettes. Everything has its portion and we just have to enjoy what we have started so that there are no regrets.

I don't know, man... It feels contradictive when you tell people to stop gambling while promoting a casino company in your signature. We get money from the casino's profit, which comes from players who lose. In this forum, there are some people who are against gambling. They are not even interested in getting money through casino signature campaigns.

BTW, I am not against your post. I get your point. I also joined some referral programs, from HYIP and casino in the past. I have mixed feelings when I get a commission because it also means someone's loss.

Back again to the topic, I have never been addicted to or obsessed with gambling. But I do gamble for fun. If you write about lose and win, the lose may be bigger than wins. Not many people wins much more than their losses so you needs considering gambling without limits or limits your gambling activities.

Exactly, the house has make things easy for the gamblers, which they are to adhere to it but, instead they will choose to do things in their own way and when they are being hit by the consequences of going against the law, they will shift the blame to house, making them to look they are the cause of their own actions. And also if they truly understand the importance of luck in gambling, they won’t have to be a victim of addiction or the problems of irresponsible gambling.

You might be right because some research has proved that public awareness and access to needed health has improved over the years. This survey was conducted by a US-based National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). We might not generalise the result of this survey in other countries. But it is well-known that those suffering from gambling addiction like to keep it secret.
