Well, even if i am sure that you are saying this to yourself, then good for you.

Sometimes to realize that you are avoiding your life and important things you need to do, you need a wakeup call. But thing is that nothing changes even if you have realized something. You think you have learned, but you easily fall back to same routines and don't know what happened.

In reality, in order to change our habits we need a long term plan that slowly changes our routines to fit our goals. Rage and realization can give you energy, but it's not enough. Radical unrealistic changes to deform your life aren't often sustainable. What you need is few things to do. Some of them you need to enjoy, to reward you. Some of them you need to do, without enjoying hoping for delayed gratification.

Because when you are changing this instant gratification drug (aka gambling) to something healthy and fulfilling it can't just be ascetic and healthy and opposite of what you were doing. Have a goal that's realistic and sustainable to you. And make sure that you remember to reward yourself somehow in a way that seems silly and non-productive. Especially in times when new way of life seems too hard. And good luck.

Maybe there is or maybe there isn't, because we often talk about destructive addictions here, I think a lot of gamblers who are sherasunya often read that because we discuss it almost every day of the year from a few years ago, it's a shame if they don't learn from what is often said here.

I understand what you're trying to say, OP, I've experienced addiction and it's truly difficult to control, but what can I do? I can only slowly try to control myself and it certainly doesn't take a short time, but I can't stop completely because I admit that gambling is one of my favorite things to do. I'm slowly getting better and gambling within my limits, for those who find it too difficult to control themselves, it's better to stop completely, but also seek help from an addiction expert.

Well, that's the problem, everyone wants their life to be better in the economic sector, especially to make their family happy, that's everyone's dream.

However, the harsh environment and living conditions make it difficult for most people to find permanent work, with less capital and minimal resources, it makes it difficult for people to move on from their careers and for other reasons.

Everyone wants to change their life for the better, without having to gamble, but several factors and things do not support them to change their life for the better, sometimes the only escape is gambling, that is a tough challenge in today's life.

I was kinda laughing when reading through writeup, I could sense some level of desire to change whatever mindset that people have gotten stuck with...  Even though I found it kind of humourous, it is actually humourous in a very educational way.... Addiction dosen't just stop even though the addict have gotten fed up... Curing gambling addiction requires a deliberate action of first identifying what pushed you in the first place and once it is identified the individual can then learn to shift his focus to something else so that his/her mind will stop depending on that action that they are addicted to... If gambling is stopping you from really engaging in things that is of great benefit to you in terms of career wise and regarding other aspect of your life that you should be more concerned about, then it's absolutely right for you to put a stop to your excessive gambling lifestyle as fast as possible. the fact is that a lot of people are looking for fast means of earning money and seeing stories of people that have hit jackpot in the past has always stood as a motivation that keeps them gambling hoping that they will get lucky in there own way.

Even while you're gambling, you have to come to terms with the fact that gambling is not a substitute to doing a real job. You're not gambling and closing every other aspect of your life tat makes you earn more money. You gamble as a source of fun or as a wah if generating some side income while still being focused on the primary job or means of earning income.

Well, I understand and feel OP here.
Gambling addiction is a serious problem, especially since I have already encountered someone who I considered to be addicted to gambling, and the worst part is, it's my family member.
In my honest opinion, handling a person like this is really stressful; it will affect you mentally, too. Since I am into gambling too, but I'm on the "good" side, like responsible gambling, so yeah, everything that is "too much" is really not good.
 

To change an addicted gambler who's not ready to quit or take break can be so stressful, Op just discovered a new method to stop gambling, you have to write down the benefits and your loses in gambling then evaluate yourself if you should continue or not. Don't force any one to stop gambling when he or she has not made up their minds you might turn enemy. Let them face the consequences by them they will learn a new thing.

Gambling is just a game when you feels so boring you can engage yourself gambling this would always keep you happy moreover when you used an amount you think you can let go while gambling. I seriously doubt anyone is going to look into what you said, especially when you are the one wearing a signature for gambling and I mean I am not against anyone who gambles but addiction is going to destroy them for sure. But one who wants to quit may not be here they are rolling or spinning somewhere already.

I would recommend starting to do DIY projects on your home like some development in your kitcher or in your closet or anywhere that might get you interested and useful.

Over time, I realized that gambling should only be done when I've completed all my work and household chores. Then I allow myself to gamble a little, and I do so very carefully, not exceeding my loss limits and also testing new strategies. Of course, many will say this is boring, but this is how I enjoy playing most, rather than simply relying on luck like many players. I don't find it very interesting, but perhaps these players should consider that there are more interesting things than pressing a button and hoping for luck.

This question should be for addicted gamblers who don't know when to stop, they will keep gambling until they have nothing left to gamble with and as soon as they come into money they will refill their gambling accounts then continue. People who gamble responsibly don't have to abandon gambling because it is something to pass time for them, they only gamble when they want to not because they must make money out of it. Every gambler must ask themselves the reason why they gamble and if they are getting benefits or results from it, if the answer YES then they should continue but if it is NO then such gamblers should consider quitting.

I remember a saying that "the real win is when you quit," and I agree with this idea, because ultimately, in the long run, we're the ones who will lose a lot of money because gambling is designed with a much higher percentage of losses than wins.

Before now, few persons on this forum has complained abt how they are battling with addiction and some other gambling problems too, this post would be beneficial in giving them a tap once again, so they can rethink their decision of gambling. I'm doing good thing with my time and I don't let gambling comes between me and my job nor anything else that requires attention first, so I'm more of a seasonal gambler who doesn't lose so much money in gambling, I play for fun and it's once in a while.

From my personal opinion, if you don't over gamble, you will be ok, like you casually do it not to take it like a career, but just maybe once in a while, I think you are ok, but then it do have the potential to be addictive so it is risky.

Gambling should be treated casually, not too seriously, and it needs discipline and self control so that you won't over step and over gamble. Addiction in gambling, when it sets in, is difficult to do away, it's not by mare words of advice, but proactive guidance to those that are already addicted.

Although, self awareness is the very first step to stopping, when you become really conscious of this and take appropriate steps to stopping the habit, then I think one can quit gambling and escape it's addiction.

Stopping completely is really hard, but by implemented gambling responsibly I’ve been able to improve my life, now I can manage it and live alongside gambling.

Yes it might be very difficult for you to stop completely if you see it that way, but if you make a boldly decision and say enough is enough I strongly believe you can make it and get freed from it . However, I have always believed in myself on things like that, if something is becoming toxic to me I just simply walk away after all I initiated it at the first point, and I see no way it can be a problem to me based on the way I see it, but if you see it as a challenge to you then that's the way it is.

Where the problem always lies is when a gambler takes gambling as what they will be doing to be rich without trying out something meaningful to do with their life, to gain exposure and knowledge on how they can become successful in life.
