Lol this was the dumbest opinion I've ever heard of . This one sounds more like the phrase from fox , Grape's are sour.  I think it's not right to view gambling as just harmful. Many people do it just for entertainment or pleasure. If someone gambles for enjoyment, it has nothing to do with whether they are rich or poor. However, if someone has a bad personal experience, they can view it negatively as your friend did.

You would be shocked to the number of persons that actually view gambling as some sort of bad act and that's because they actually use  it or engage in it with the wrong approach. They are so many things or habit and not only gambling that if you tend to misuse will give out the wrong result and bitter feeling. Sometimes it doesn't even have to be whether you are rich or poor because even the rick folks get it hot when they gamble wrongly and trust me the penalty they face is even worse.

Anyone of them is likely to gamble for fun but most claims suggests that the rich is more of fun gamblers than the poor and the reason they gave was that the rich person is already wealthy and doesn't have intentions of making money again from gambling while the poor person has more reason to believe that they can get rich through gambling. It is true that gambling as entertainment is a personal decision. A gambler does not have to be rich to spend some money on entertainment, depending on his income. I can spend a certain part of my income on entertainment. Those with higher incomes will spend more money, and those with lower incomes will spend less. Gambling has nothing to do with being rich or poor. I think it is a matter of realization. Both rich and poor can gamble as entertainment. There is no room for measuring entertainment in terms of money.

Honestly many wealthy people gamble just for fun while many low income people gamble purely for money it all depends on the person’s mindset and motives.

The rich and the poor gamble for different reasons, the rich can gamble to have fun more often than how the poor will gamble to have fun. The poor mostly gamble to make more money although we have some rich people that try to double their money by gambling but the rate at which the poor gamble to make money is higher than the rates at which the rich gamble to make money. I came up with varied answers here. If you are gambling for fun, most likely its the mindset of the rich gamblers, and that they just gamble to seek for entertainment and unwind from the stress and pressures from their current jobs.

But if you are gambling to earn and make money, though some rich gamblers are also aggressive to win, but its most likely the low income earners who are more motivated to bet and expect instant wins.

The idea that people get rich by gambling is somehow adopted by those less fortunate and low income households. That's why when it comes to gambling, its most likely the poor individuals who easily get attached to it, since most of the rich gamblers are just after the entertainment and fun, making money is just optional.

I'm really in the state of quagmire about this topic i created and which i give it a second thought that i have better place to share it and gather allot of ideas from different individuals here because there was a serious argument between two friends that was deliberating that the rich people fall in the categories of gamblers that gamble for fun and the other friends was seriously defending it with his points that gambling for fun is a personal decision, that gambling for fun doesn't determine the kind of status you are, and  i try to support the other friend that says gambling for fun is a personal decision but the other friend is still insisting that is a lie that gambling for fun is basically for the rich people.

Really, gambling for fun is a personal issue is not done for the rich or poor, it has to do with self disciple and control so that you gamble responsibly, gambling without proper direction leads to losses.

In as much as the poor thinks gambling can provide them with money that can bring them out of their financial needs likewise the rich also feels gambling will give them more money also and they is why you find gambling for fun and for money in both level of persons, what happens among the poor also happen among the rich.

This seems the obvious answer, but I have some doubts about its validity. The rich can stake more money because he can afford it, but in the end I think that the motivation is the same between the rich and the poor, and the fact that the rich has more sources of funds can simply mean that he has more money to gamble. I tell you this because I have a acquaintance who has inherited a business and a big income because of that, but still has trouble with debts because he even bet his car to poker and lost, and the bank won't lend him more money until he returns what has already been left to him. So the problems between the rich and the poor are the same, I think, the only thing that changes is the magnitude in each case.
