When you bet on sports, how do you rate your confidence really?
I always see people saying 100% sure, max confidence, free win and all that, then later the pick gets destroyed. So I keep wondering if that confidence really means anything, or if we just hype our own bets too much in our head.
Actually being confident on your bet does not guarantee you to win. You might be sure of your prediction and yet you lose your bet. One thing people fail to understand is that in Gambling or betting, nothing is permanent. The only thing constant in life is changes, this changes makes gamblers not to predict accurately, because what was played last time will not be thesame as the current one. There will be a lot of learning and new skill, this new development will make pas record not to repeat itself when they gave finalized it.

When you are skilled in a particular game and also very knowledgeable in it, it is only natural for your confidence level to be very high, like 100% and I think it is good to be very confident in yourself to avoid having doubts in your choices which may lead to wrong picks. It is important also to remember always that having confidence does not mean that you should have very high expectations of your bet. Gambling is unpredictable, so you should do what you know how to do and be prepared for whatever the outcome may be be.
The most important thing in gambling is to have a good skill that can be profitable for you when you apply it to make money from you. Your confident score does not really matterd at all but what matters is for you to be making money from gambling. Your confidence will not change anything about your gambling activities because what is more important is for you to be making money with small seldom loses. There are so games you may not be confident about but could make you more money than they ones you have confidence about.

I am always confident when I start to gamble not that in this case my confidence focuses on 100 percent to be able to get a win because for me this condition is another thing but I am ready for all forms of results that will be obtained including the bets that I want to decide.
I know that even though gambling has a greater probability level, it does not mean that we can win 100 percent but at least with confidence and focus in betting in the end when we are in the middle we do not hesitate because we believe in the bets we make. There are not a few gamblers who hesitate in the middle of the match and even not a few gamblers who cash out even though it's still not over (even though it's not a mistake) but in this case of course this kind of pattern arises due to lack of confidence in starting the bet and I don't expect something like this when I bet.

Yes, I think that one cannot be too confident in winning while gambling because its results are largely dependent on luck. However, if we can gamble with confidence and follow the right rules from the beginning, the chances of losing money will be relatively low because we know in advance where we are using the money, and disappointment after losing while gambling will not work because gambling is largely a game of luck, only those who have good luck can win by gambling. So we do not have to stop playing in the middle, we will be able to control our emotions and the main purpose of gambling will be right, so self-control can be maintained and the real fun of gambling can be enjoy.

Your point was good it shows something that is not generally understood about betting. Confidence is not the same thing as certainty. but gamblers tend to assume it is. and declare their bet as 100 percent sure or free wins. Actually the results of sports are never certain and even the most accurate analysis can be ineffective because of the fluctuating factors such as shape. injury or strategies. Previously achieved results are not guaranteed to be the same in the future since the game keeps on changing. Confidence must be made in reality and it must be founded on realistic probability and value rather than emotion. Discipline and good bankroll management are much more important than your level of confidence about a bet at the end of the day.

The highest confidence score I can push with my bets is probably around 70% - 80% because you can never count out teams until the game's over and even with solid reasoning, it only takes one rough day from the players to shit on your bet.
I have a similar strategy. I always leave some leeway for unforeseen circumstances. Sometimes even top Moscow clubs lose to less-prepared regional clubs or end up drawing, and you can't be 100% sure of victory. There's always a chance the game won't go as planned, and I always keep that in mind.

You can not boast of having a 100% confidence level in gambling when we all know it is a risky exercise, and one's level of winning is on a 50 50 basis. You either win or you lose out, and that is it, so anyone who guarantees you a high confidence level above 50% seems to be joking, not till the final whistle is blown.
As for me, it is a 50 50 basis, so I do not hope too much on it because of the nature of gambling, and besides, I gamble for fun, and I do not put much into it, so I do not get overwhelmed by the outcome of the results. As a player, you should know that gambling is a very risky game and unpredictable, as results could turn around in the last minutes, as you think you have won a particular game. I have had such an experience several times, and that also made me do away with that game 100% win mentality till the final whistle is blown.

I rate my confidence before placing a sports bet very low. It's close to zero percent. That's why I rarely bet, mostly for fun or research purposes. First, you need to understand that confidence has to be based on something. Second, people who bet on the opposite side of the money line are also likely confident in their choice, lol. Ultimately, a funny thing happens: people make opposite predictions and are equally confident in opposite outcomes.

'players who have good luck' that's funny, how often would the luck play a role? gaming is about luck but not decisively on a specific kind of people who has better luck than the other, confidence, however, is a factor in all walks of life that plays a big impact on staying positive, in gambling, confidence balances the anxiety of a player's decision making illusion and could push down to overconfident which is very dangerous for gamblers.

Your strategy is more stable in fact than the majority of punters. A very low confidence score demonstrates that you have realized how unpredictable the results of sport can be. Confidence is confused with having a real advantage. but in a real sense. it is usually based on prejudice or emotion over sound arguments. Another great point you mentioned was that confidence must be pegged on something of substance such as data or analysis. Interestingly when someone makes a bet. someone else is equally convinced on the other side and this is a sign that confidence does not mean that one is right. It is a clever step to treat betting as entertainment or research. and the discipline and adequate risk control play a far bigger role in long-term.

When you know that gamble results is determined by luck you'll learn to keep your confidence level at 50% knowing that the results is a binary outcome either win or lose except in special cases where an outstanding game gets void then you'll be paid out for the odds you've won in your bet selection or given back your stake if it was a single bet. People in my area using classify their confidence with a title "sure game" and this means they have a lot of confidence that the game will play out as they predicted regardless of the fact that betting is a game of luck. Personally I don't believe in those sure game, I even prefer to make my own predictions and enjoy the moment whatever the outcome may be.

So what about you, what is your real score when judging your bets? And what weakness do you notice most in your own style?
Maybe if people answer honestly, we can have a decent discussion and maybe learn something from each other.
I have a good confidence score in some areas of interest, like cooking, because I studied and learned to read and cook my favorite recipes, but when it comes to gambling, it's 50/50. I'd like to be more realistic about my expectations, because even if you give your best shot at analyzing the possible outcome, you're still not going to get it right 100%. It's hard to give a 100% in gambling because, first and foremost, it's a game of uncertainty.

Rating your confident before playing sport betting very low is okay and preferably that when you have high expectations without knowing that the bet is going to end up in total lose. Gambling has no respect for anyone and this is why we need to be very conscious when betting to make money especially with low confidence score.

One thing I'll say is that confidence won't affect the outcome of your bets. It's simply a natural feeling that arises within you when betting, and confidence usually increases when you've just won.
To be honest, I always try to limit my confidence in winning, even if the team I'm betting on has a statistical advantage over the opponent. The reason is that the final outcome doesn't always go as expected, so I prefer to minimize the possibility of emotions by limiting my expectations.

Large majority of individuals are too sure of themselves, thinking that their deep study of numbers will remove any part of luck, and thus ways of hiding fact that they are afraid to lose their money are idea of making bet 100 percent certain. Most bettors are victims of mind traps such as seeking only reasons that their team will win and ignoring bad signs, or chasing loss by thinking that next bet is sure thing simply because they need money. I think 60% is world class to win, and therefore, 90% confidence is probably story that one is trying to tell oneself to feel better. And to be really honest bettor you must learn to stop paying attention to how confident you feel and instead pay attention to whether or not you really have mathematical gain over prices offered by bookmaker.

Issuing a low confidence score on yourself prior to making a sports betting like in football could really help the bettors see things differently from what the guy with high confidence wouldn't care to notice because he's too sure about what he's to pick for his bet. Let look at the just concluded game between Arsenal Vs Bournemouth, the confidence from many bettors was 100% on Arsenal winning the game, but only the bettor who rates himself low may want to think in the opposite and not follow the crowd on a full scale for Arsenal who later loss the game to Bournemouth.

I am very humble when comes to my self-confidence in sport betting. I am very aware I am very likely to lose money in the long term, because I am not a professional bettor whatsoever, so if I had to rate my average confidence on my picks, I would say I am around 60-80% of it.
Regardless of the conditions of the match or how much of an obvious win it seems to be in the eyes of the public, I would never dare to say I am one hundred percent sure I would win money.
People talking about free wins or being completely certain of their choice are being delusional or unaware of the actual chances of winning.

When you bet on sports, how do you rate your confidence really? ~snip~
Usually, when I place a bet on sports I do it only when I’m at least 70% confident. When I feel 100% confident, the odds are usually not that good so I skip those situations. If I’m only have fifty-fifty confident I will skip as well, if I force myself to bet it’s no different from just playing slots. Also, betting with 100% confidence can make me greedy because of chance to get overconfidence. That’s why I prefer betting with 70–90% confidence so I stay aware that there’s still risk involved. This help me stay disciplined and only use money that I can afford to lose

I'm not confident in anything anymore. I can't even say there's a 60% chance something will happen. I've lost so many games that I just don't believe in anything. It's as if everything is a scam and a rip-off. That's just my perception. Yes, I understand perfectly well that this is my own perception, but it makes me feel uneasy knowing that nothing is working out.

Be honest, when you say 70%, 80%, or 90% confident, does that actually match your results in the long run? Or do you later realize your confidence was way higher than the real edge?
For me, one of the biggest problems in sports betting is not only picking the wrong side, but judging a bet like it is stronger than it really is. Sometimes it is emotion, sometimes loyalty to a team, sometimes chasing a loss, sometimes the odds just look too tempting so you ignore the bad signs.
So what about you, what is your real score when judging your bets? And what weakness do you notice most in your own style?

Well, let's be honest, if ur not too sure about the game yourself, you won't pick them right? Unless let's say someone else gave you the game, that's the only time I feel one can pick a game they are not too sure about. They probably might trust the person giving them assurance before they will accept such game. We all know that anything can go wrong, but there is a level of assurance and trust in their choices. If eventually things didn't go accordingly, then it is what it is.
