someone should rename this thread title to "OMNI"
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Better talk to JR Willett for sponsoring, I heard he did a pretty huge exit on the back of his investors.
BTW, how's his daughter?

I am pretty sure the exit is peanuts compared to the multi billion exit that Jed McCaleb made at Ripple....

If by "exiting" you mean selling ~3% of my position so I could quit my job and work on Omni, then yeah, I guess I did. Then I gave about 10% of that position to David Johnston to invest exclusively in projects building on Omni (I assumed I wouldn't get anything back but he put some of that into MaidSafe, which did very well - I probably should have held onto that). I gave away lots more Omni in the form of options to developers working on Omni, so they could keep working on it when project funds ran low. I've also bought Omni at very low prices, so I still have about half of my original position.

As you can see, I have never parted with Omni except to help the Omni project. I doubt any other founder of any other crypto currency project could make this claim. When the proceeds of my original 3% sale ran low, I returned to my day job rather than sell more Omni at stupid-low prices, but people still assume that I made a huge exit when Mastercoin was worth hundreds of millions and am living on an island somewhere. Sorry - I still have my day job!! I get to follow the developments on the project I founded only as time allows between work and family commitments. I can't see myself selling more Omni until it gets up there with the other big boys again, where it belongs. Have you compared the market caps of other crypto platforms to the market caps of the assets they host? By that measure, Omni is hilariously undervalued, and has been for years.

My daughter has (comparatively minor) long term health problems resulting from her brain bleed 3 years ago. We were just in the ER with her last week for a very bad seizure. Otherwise, she is doing very well.

Thanks for being open, and I do wish your daughter to get better.

As for an undervalued Omni, users and community are what gives value and Mastercoin / Omni never really tried to preserve and grow one, at least that's how I felt.

All I can see is things being done behind the scene and almost zero effort on approaching the public.

Thanks die being so open indeed. Let today be a good start towards promoting you and your family the OMNI value or deserves.

OMNI hosts an incredible amount of assets on it's layer with coins such as tether and maidsafe. But there needs to be some change in how OMNI holders can also benefit from this.

Sad to hear from David Johnston. I didn't know he was also related to this project. He scammed me with his APIcoin project ICO. possibly used the ICO money to buy your stake an earn money on the back of his investors. APIcoin was never developed. No updates after ICO ended.

I believe in this project and think it will eventually be rewarded with the price it once had.

Agreed. When people read into OMNI they will realize that the price rise is backed by true technology.

Congrats to all holders. More to come. In the past 12 months someone has been collecting a lot of OMNI. Easy to control the price with hardly any remaining sellers and no new supply from mining.

If only omniwallet didn't look and work like a website made 20 years ago.. and the inability to cancel your own sell offer..

wondering if someone can help.

I have an old blockchain.info wallet that I used to purchase mastercoin back in 2013. The omni explorer site shows my correct mastercoin/omni balance however using omni wallet and adding an address and importing the priv key that is listed on blockchain.info produces a completely different public key in my omni wallet. It shows 0 balance of anything even though there is about $6 worth of btc and only a few omni tokens. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Omni working on partnership with Deloitte. Don't worry, we will rise. OMNI is my largest investment of all cryptos. It belongs top 25. They host Tether and MAIDSAFE on their network layer.

Tether is a central bank wet dream.

Issue tokens whenever you want, no upper cap, massive pre-mine.

If you are hitching your future to this, you might as well just throw your money into a barrel and set it on fire.

This is the best Omni can do? Pretty sad...

Well folks, seems that our master JR Willett is putting a million $ in an ICO that will (guess what) make ATMs and use 1% of the tx to buy their own token off the market, something that Mastercoin\OMNI is still not capable of after 4 years work.
Well good luck with that!  What's your ATM fee ? 4-5% ?(like those private ATMs that nobody uses). ATMs are the past.. grow up. Bitcoin.

From the Forbes article:

Quote
Then, there was the fact that, after raising $500,000 worth of bitcoins, the price jumped tenfold. Suddenly he had $5 million to keep safe. Though at first he had contractors working to develop Omni while he kept his full-time job, once the token reached 100 multiples of its ICO price, he sold just 2-3% of his tokens -- "just enough to make my wife happy to be able to quit my job," he says.

Its always been about cashing out. Now, with "UpToken", its about fleecing a whole new crop of people willing to fork over money for some ATM scheme.

This guy has no shame. Omni is a shambling disaster, and all the cream he skimmed off the top is still rambling around his bank account. (Don't tell me he's spent it all, lol.)

Willett is a digital-age huckster and con-man. Provide hope, bank on people's dreams, then cash out and start something new.
