Boxing will clearly not become great again if King Ry will continue to work with Oscar. If I ask you as a fan of this sport, do you want to witness boxing become great again or not?
Golden Boy Promotions and Oscar de la Hoya deserve a massive amount of credit for the success that Ryan Garcia has achieved while being with that company. They could have easily thrown him to the wolves early in his career when Loma and Teo were in the prime of their careers. Instead they were patient with his development and guided him carefully. That is something that all the Arab money in the world cannot create out of thin air.
Ryan may or may not have a great legacy if he goes to Zuffa. What it boils down to is being able to maximize his earning potential. The Saudis have been burning through a lot of money trying to get into boxing and in the short term that may benefit Zuffa and fighters like Ryan. However, the situation in the Middle East isn’t going too favorably for them and they’ve shown incompetence in sports like golf.
Zuffa would be an irrelevant entity to boxing were it not for their Arab sugar daddies. There is no guarantee they will do what’s in Ryan’s best interests. They were quick to sacrifice Benn when the opportunity to work with Ryan came along and will certainly do the same thing to Ryan when they’ve squeezed enough money out of him.

Crawford would probably school Ryan, but he is getting old and is inactive. Ryan would still have a puncher’s chance. I don’t see this fight happening until Crawford is older.
