Thank you for testing DEX.fo and for the detailed report! $29 received out of $30 is exactly in line with our 0.8% Chain mode fee plus the network fee for the ERC-20 USDT transaction. The 40-minute processing time is within the expected range for Chain mode as it goes through third-party bridges.
Regarding Fast mode — it was temporarily unavailable as we were configuring and fine-tuning it. We are almost ready and will be launching it very soon. Stay tuned for the update!
Regarding BSC network for USDT — this is on our roadmap. BSC fees are significantly lower than ERC-20 which would benefit users on smaller amounts. We will add it soon.

Great question. In terms of privacy — both modes are equal. We do not log IP addresses, we do not store transaction history, and we do not require any registration in either mode. The only difference between Fast and Chain is speed and fee. Fast mode uses our own reserves for instant execution, Chain mode routes through external bridges for a lower fee. Privacy is the same either way — your business stays your business.

I saw a lot of good suggestions for improving your platform here, and you also answered most of them. However, could you please write what are the next planned updates on the platform are and what the expected timelines for this to be implemented?
At the moment, you have (at least for me) a rather limited choice of pairs to trade, although listed chains provide many more options. When do you plan to expand this, and what exactly is the sticking point for everything to be realized? Is it due to the diversification of the liquidity of funds, or is it a technical matter?

Regarding API — documentation is in preparation. We will announce when it is available for developers.

It’s good to hear that work on the API and its documentation is underway. Although it might be a bit early to ask, I’d be interested to know how you plan to implement API key generation for users. I mean, will this be implemented automatically, so that users generate keys themselves on the website, or will it be done like some other platforms do, by issuing keys after the user sends a request via email? For users, I think the first option would be more convenient.

I just took a quick look at the swap service and the website is very clean, congrats!

The fast way you can see the quote for the swap is a big difference that other swaps I tried do not have. Some I need to click to get a rate or need to put my bitcoin address which I do not have some times, but here I just write the amount I want to swap and it shows the final amount instantaneously

The main bottleneck for expanding pairs is liquidity — we want to ensure stable reserves for each new direction before going live. We do not want to list a pair and then have it fail during an exchange. Technical integration also takes time to test properly. We prefer to launch fewer pairs that work flawlessly rather than many that are unstable.

Great question about API key generation. We agree that self-service key generation directly on the website is the better approach — no emails, no waiting, instant access. That is exactly the direction we are planning to go. Users will be able to generate and manage their API keys independently through a dedicated section on the site. More details will be shared when the API documentation is ready.

I tested DEX.fo

The design:
The website design is unique and very comfortable to the site. The swapping process is also simple without complications. Just select the pair you want to swap, choose the amount and the expect payment and receiving amount will be displayed.
I commend the design of “Use min and Use max”. This enabled me to simply click “use min” because is for testing purpose. I didn’t have to worry to send a little bit above the min deposit as other exchanges request, since the system had to set everything by itself. +1

The swaping:
I chose my preferred pair (BTC to USDTtrc). I provided the destination address as well as the refund address. And initiated the swap.
I was given an address to deposit and I did and started writing this review waiting for the confirmation and completion of swap.


Timing and fee:
The network confirmed my deposit in 13mins with a few of $0.21, after another 15mins the swapped coin hit my wallet.
Support: I had no reason to contact support, but I wanted to test their activeness but discovered I can contact live via simplex or send a mail. So, I didn’t bother since everything went smooth.

Some Observations:
Does the image below represent the exchange reserve? If yes, the value changes every time the system refreshes. Reserves are supposed to be stable unless depleted by users


Secondly, the BTC to USD rate changes as you switch from one pair to another. As at the time I swapped, bitcoin price was 74,160 but it was showing $69,205 on the exchange.


Overall experience:
It was a nice experience swapping here, I am likely going to be swapping here if the projects remains true.
I rate it 8.5/10

Regarding your two observations:

**1. Reserve values changing on refresh** — you are right to point this out. The reserves should display a stable real-time value, not fluctuate on every page refresh. We will fix this so the display accurately reflects actual reserve status.

**2. BTC/USD rate differing between pairs** — this is a display inconsistency we need to address. The exchange rate within each pair is calculated correctly, but the USD reference value shown across different pairs should be uniform. We will resolve this as well.

Both issues have been forwarded to our dev team and will be addressed in the next update. Thank you for taking the time to report them with such clarity.

The fact that you are willing to swap here again means a lot. We will keep working to earn that 1.5 points. 🙂

Oh so it's a bug. I thought it was updating at real-time hence why the values always changes. I suspected the reserve was update through several hops or there's just a delay on CDN or something similar. Is it right to assume that the current reflected value quite accurate to the actual reserves though? For example, the difference on BTC reserve isn't 90% lower or higher?

It is better to wait. A service that wants to gain a large user base is one that is willing to create something long-term, and a delay of several weeks should not affect their long-term plans.

I submitted a service (it is forbidden to advertise it here) back in February, and it is still in the "pending" phase. 
As far as I understand, the team behind kycnot.me approves verification only after they themselves test a service. Considering that there are only two members, it goes very slowly.
The community has recognized kycnot.me as a 'trusted' aggregator, but it seems that this has given them more popularity than their capacity can support.
