Finally had time to go through this topic. Interesting format, I'm going to play without any doubts. From teams that available now would be interest to join Scandinavian team. Though, I'm not eactly from this region, but from available teams it's closest for me.
Alternatively if there is someone who want to make team from Central or Eastern Europe, I'm interested too.

I can say that the Black Sea team we have created with our captain B1g4udge and my fellow citizen hakan2217 has won this tournament already now.

The prize for the 2nd place is also quite good. But the 2nd placed team always get sad. Therefore keep away from this tournament!!

Since we have another Croatian team disguised as Team Italy, we decided not to go with the traditional flag, but this crest. The only problem is that I created it a little small because I read somewhere that Trofo asked all flags/crests to be in the 160x120 dimension.

Giys what software do you use for logo design. I must admit that I don't know much about computer graphics and the logos shown so far look pretty cool.

I don't want our team to have less good looking logo, so any tips are wellcome.

You can just use some AI software to generate you your logo. I usually use Gemini to generate me an image. I just describe what I want and it works pretty much OK. For our logo Daniel91 used wix.com. I haven't use it so I don't know how it works. But I used Gemini to fix the logo that wix.com generated because we got 6x6 checkerboard instead of 5x5.

The idea was the geographical connotation - meaning that we cannot accept Yaguaretes - we can accept for example South America. Or Indies. Or Latinia/The Meridians/Terra Nova - whatever sounds like a country or a region.
Then again - it's a game after all. Our initial idea was one thing, we can do with this whatever you want. Care to comment on it?

For this competition we wanted to keep terminology geographic, with flags, etc. Later on if this lives further (and there is an idea behind it), we'd give you full freedom on the names/logos etc.

For now I'm more inclined to ask darxiaomi to change the name but then again - tell us what you want and we can still change it if the demand for more exotic names is big.

Little Italy is causing some confusion yeah, seemed funnyish due to 'Mafia' banter. As organizers we reserve the right to keep it - it's borderline after all

I'm already waiting to see how this competition will look in action. But no doubts that it will be fun.
Though, can't say that I'm ped that much about World Cup itself. 48 teams is too much for me and it will be many not attractive games in group stage. And unfortunately, my work schedule won't allow to watch most of night games :/

For me the World cup games are always better to watch than the UCL. I'm probably one of the rare people that like those games better than the UCL, but it's like that. Maybe because it's happening every two years (I'm counting the Euro games too). I'm saying this because I hate it that it's being held in the USA and Mexico because I won't be able to watch majority of the games.

Just for clarification.
First, our team name is "Western Pacific Rim Alliance".
We added the part with "Alliance" not as a nickname, but a nice add-on since none of us are from the same country and we are even from different parts of Asia (Southeast Asia and East Asia).
It's of course a bit borderline but still fitting and professional....I think.

Before AI, we had to be an expert to create a quality logo for our club, but now that's no longer the case, you just need an initial idea, a good description of what you want and AI does the rest.
Yes, I used wix and used free credits when you create an account with them.
When you tell them what you want, you get 4 versions of the logo, you choose one and you can tweak it a bit.
You can see the final result on our profile page, our team logo is very good, isn't it? 
Now we have done all the preparations and we are ready for this competition.
Similar to the Croatian national team at the last 2 world championships, we expect a medal.

Yup, alliance is a historical terminology often used to define geographical areas connected in one way or the other.
For this it works just fine.

I thought I'll just be joining up with Nheer's team. Since he already has an open application, I can join that , he'll be the captain and we look for one other willing participant to round it up rather than having multiple applications from the same region.
Or does each indicated interest show as an open application?

This is the first we heard about the two of you connecting. Idea is you discuss it in private and then write it here when it is agreed. Feel free to talk about this competition among your local boards. I expected to see some people that aren't part of BSFL to be recruited by those that are.

So far we have 4 levels
1. Teams that are complete, have officially applied with club post and flag, and have paid their fee - These ones are 100% in the event
2. Teams that are complete and have officially applied with club post and flag - these ones are also 100% in the event so far, but when we get closer to 18 teams we may have to start putting some on hold until we see we can reach 24 teams or 32 teams (this one is probably wishful thinking)
3. Teams that seem complete but haven't actually officially applied yet (That is the 3 under potential teams headline)
4. Open applications, for people without complete teams that are looking to play this event but have no other ways or connections to create whole teams, we will use these ones for now to help you connect and when we get closer to deadline we may create some mixed teams from remaining members.

It is in everyone's best interest to apply asap, and agree on their own teams. We will not do it for you unless we are missing a team or two to create proper knockout brackets.
