This is actually the biggest logistical problem for us.
We know he wanted to play so we're basically waiting for him - and we have 2 options if he doesn't show up until tomorrow evening. Either allow your team to play with 2 players until he returns or simply replace him with dittoup.

First option is not entirely fair to the rest of the participants and the 2nd one isn't really fair to Slissy because he announced his registration before and he was basically in from the start - we were just waiting for the 3rd teammate in that team.

We really hope he's ok - he's been missing for a while.

What I didn't expected that there will be not that many people from same region. Look at Europe, it looks that 90Į of Europeans here is from Croatia

Europe is actually well represented. We have the England and West Europe teams, Nordics will be in 1 format or the other, 2 Croatian teams, Imperium Romanum and a team from Balkans.
That's almost 50%, the rest of the world is the one that we expected more from.

If your Croatia survives the group stage their path to success is Senegal/Colombia in R32,  Mexico/Spain in R16 and possibly France/Brazil in Quarters. Now tell yourself the truth, the current Croatia team isn't good enough. R6 maybe.

Prime Kovasic and Modric juice are no more. 

I actually do not rate Spain for this one, I don’t even think they’ll make the semifinals except they play through the easiest route possible in the knockout, then they surely aren’t going to make the finals in my opinion.

They just don’t have the identity for me, but maybe my view is skewed and I’m just being biased.

Sadly Nigeria isn't participating in this one with so many weak teams participating- could have been our year to finally win the WC to complete football on the national level.

Brazil had a solid chance of winning until Ancelotti started playing politics with the call-up. Argentina isn't convincing enough, has too many older players, and the French team lacks discipline; this could be Spain's year. What are the outright odds, people?

Spain has a better chance but I might be wrong though also until we see at least how they’re able to make it pass the group stage and their whole performance during the group stage matches. They have the players, they have the team cohesion, so there is a possibility this is their year.

Argentina are not even a better option for the title, I don’t think they’ll make it far even after making it past the group stage. France can still have a place for the title again, they may look not disciplined enough, but their chances of winning it are still very high notwithstanding.

I cant believe how they are putting England ahead of Argentina for example to win this world cup im not saying Argentina is the top favorite because im not sure about that, but come on, i feel like the champion until now is gonna come from Spain, France and Argentina, i dont see any other team with real chances aside of that 3.

England will be better off not being held by Southgate, now Tuchel is the leader of the national team so he can bring a more decent England even above Argentina as long as the players are not too selfish.

Spain is indeed the favorite team they have solid players that sometimes other teams are difficult to beat, I am not alone in lacking confidence in Spain but will see how Portugal plays sometimes many people overlook this team.

Yes but we all know England always flop in the big tournaments so i dont know why they saw them as a favorite plus i know they have a good team and you always take a look on them but i feel like is not the best England at all.


About the Slissy thing i think the best is to have dittout as replacement and if he shows up he takes the place or them play with 4 participants, something like that.

I'd say that odds on Croatia are spot on. We're slow and predictable, the only thing that works in our favor will be the tough weather conditions.

When it already looked that we made team, shit happens. Very stupid situation, especially when there is so little time remaining until World Cup. Have no idea how to find 1 more guy who want to join when all teams is already formed.
But if there is someone who didn't decided about joining and don't have a team - please join us and save World Cup for us!

Fellas, we begin our Road to Glory experience! Admittedly, with some minor hiccups along the way but hopefully we will straighten them along the way.

We start with 13 full teams. We expect Indian Ocean Alliance to register soon, and will almost certainly find the 3rd member to join LTU_btc and dittoup.
16th team is a stretch, we have some solo warriors wanting their shot at glory but we have rebuffed such proposals. Maybe there is a way out but the deadlines are short and it looks like 15 teams will be what we end up with.
That means that 1 group will probably have 3 instead of 4 teams, and the reward for the individual Golden ball award will be reduced by the missing buy-in amount.

That being said, we are creating draws for the groups. We created 4 different raffles on Bitlist - imagine them as pot rounds. Seeds are defined according to submission times, but it's basically irrelevant. Pot 1 teams are teams 1-4, Pot 2 teams 5-8 etc, with Pot 4 including Team 14, Team 15 and Team 16 placeholders.
They will be drawn with ~30 minutes difference so you can track it 'live' like this. The first pot will be drawn around noon GMT.

What is this? No faith in Mafia's honesty? We're shocked to hear this.
It will be hidden like in BSFL, you can already check in the spreadsheet.

Only thing we're not sure is whether to hide the 'Event you're participating in' field or not. If we hide it there's more uncertainty about who plays against who but makes it harder for captains to recheck if everything is submitted properly.
Considering that everybody continues from the group stages anyway, we think we'll leave it open for the groups and then hide it for the knockouts.

Regarding the tickets - Mafia is about fair fights. We surely won't be looking but we'll try to submit the tickets early on. Our captain can't really be trusted though.

Damn LTU_btc, sorry to hear that (and hope Slissy is okay) but our good friend dittoup at least decided to show up and save the face of our Scandi brothers. I'm a bit caught up otherwise could definitely have pulled more people over (or tried to) but I think Cro2, all things considered, have a good competition on their hands.

Since people seem to be asking questions about eligibility, I consider it my duty to ask Cro2 yet another question: Can a bet used in one event be also used in another? e.g. A bet placed for this event, also submitted to Beat the Bookie.

My natural instinct is to say no, since that dilutes the participation, but just trying to help you cover your bases?
