Yeah, I'm also thinking the same because with the way sport betting is going this time it's no longer a game of strategy or analysis because I know how many hours I spent most times in making analysis but at the end the result will be opposite of what I get in my analysis/ research. I believe that in any competition, there is always the possibility of cheating, deciding the winner in advance, even before the competition begins, though this is likely very rare. Just as you can't predict which game the statistical favorite will win, you also can't predict which games will be fixed. So it's really up to your luck to choose the games where the statistics align and you have a better chance of winning. Statistics is indeed a guide to help us determine the right bet. The problem is the way we interpret the stats if we are still losing most of the time even with analysis since it’s just a data that we need to process and interpret on our own.

For example about this situation is what’s happening on NBA playoffs with Rockets and Lakers series. On stats, Rockets should be winning because they have the best regular season record but they are losing right now. You will be confused why this happening if you didn’t do thorough analysis since Rockets doesn’t have a good point guard while most of their win is just not a series game so their strategy can’t be analyzed and counter immediately.

I remember Oklahoma City Thunder vs Phoenix Suns playoff game, though I forgot which exact game 1 or 2. I placed player prop on Chet Holmgren over 16.5 points. He already had 16 points in the first half, then in the second half he didn’t score at all. Imagine that.
I was supposed to win decent amount with that pick, but yeah I didn’t win because Chet didn’t score a single point in the second half. That really felt rigged to me.

First of all, making use of stats isn't useless, it actually increases your chances of winning the game but it does not mean that it is a hundred percent. some people make use of stats and they get too confident forgetting that they cannot change the fact that winning isn’t just based on stats, luck is also involved as well. This issue of fixing games is what i have not yet concluded on for now, its sure and true that everything is completely possible in the game of football but I am still doubtful that football games can be rigged or manipulated for any amount because this football we have now is a game of history and those history's is one thing they must work towards preventing.

Well if you're not going to mention the league then it's hard to really give feedback. Most major leagues pay their players huge amounts so it would not make much sense for a player to get involved in cheating. Doesn't make it impossible but it's going to be quite rare and probably only involved a single player. Anything below the biggest leagues in the biggest sports and it starts becoming more realistic, where you might even get several people in a team sport working together so in their eyes it looks less obvious. Some countries are worse than others, with poorer countries being easier targets. You'll also find things like college sports more vulnerable to this too, because dangling vast sums in front of young adults can probably get them hooked.
