And what makes me laugh, usually mothers chase cheaper prices without paying attention to the location of the shop. They prefer a 10 cent difference even if they have to travel 5 miles further for 5 or fewer items. Compare items between stores effectively not only on price, but also on transportation costs, time, and the potential for spending more money on something you don't really need.

One thing we need to understand is that this mothers do not do this blindly they are definitely going to be calculating all the money involved and most usually they try to look at the effectiveness and that’s why mothers are usually more interested in buying things in bulk from the market than actually getting them little by little from the stores selling close to home with inflated prices.

I am the type of consumer that will have three different tabs open on my browser before I make a purchase.  I also do this when shopping in person.  As you mentioned, these small price differences may only be a few dollars, but they add up quickly (within a year).  It isnot just about being "cheap", but rather it is about being smart with our money!

Not only do they add up within the year, you don’t need to wait for a year simply make bulk purchases with tusi little discounts you can buy more or even pay for the transportation of the goods. Personally I will say that except if one is not actually having sufficient money to get all the items but bulk buys like this with little discounts are actually the best way to go as it saves a lot.

Of course, I do this a lot, although not all the time. I have always understood how certain Individuals just intentionally overprice their items, especially in areas where there are no price regulations. I can't be on a receiving end of bad governance, and also be on a receiving end of greedy individuals. Infact, I sometimes prefer not to even buy that particular thing rather than moving from one shop to another just to compare price.

And as for the times I don't do it, I usually try to figure out the average price before leaving the house, because knowing the average price can allow me or anyone else to overlook something else that is a bit closer to that.

Since I don't buy only a single product when I am in the supermarket, and the prices of different items vary in different shops, as there is no price regulation body, some shops have the prices of some items higher than some others and some items lower than some other shops. I just focus on buying from a shop where I know I can get the best quality item, not just about the price alone now because with how there are a lot of fake products nowadays, you cannot just be buying something from any shop. You have to be sure that the shop you are buying from stocks up on original products.

Well you are actually right, everyone needs a place they can get discount from, and whenever such opportunity comes they don't neglect it. Whenever I go to the market I move from place to place to find the cheaper one, sometimes not that I don't have the money to pay, but I just feel like without proper market pricing, I will be cheated which such amount would have been used for other things. Yes I used to to do same. I think it's good habbit , searching the shop that give product at lower price. It's help to reduce the expenses and that is wise approach . Buying things from online can increase the cost you have to pay the delivery charges plus some time product not fulfill the quality criteria. So I always prefer to buy the items from the market that close to my home. Because in case of exchange the item, not only save my time but save me from delivery charges.Here one more thing that prices are vary from shop to shop. Confirming Price of commodities in different shops before purchasing them is very necessary, more especially those who are buying to resale, and are buying in a very large scale. In this case , individuals who buy very small, and are buying for their consumption may not border so much, especially those that has the money. Generally it is considered a good strategy to visit the market first and then buy a particular product certain shops have this audacity to put high prices on different products but providing the lowest quality as compared to the other shops in that market. Price comparison is better in general as it gives an overall overview of the market including prices and quality of the product. If you are buying in large amount then buying at lower rates will give more benefits.

I also compare stores when shopping especially since I frequently shop online these days. Comparing stores is a natural thing for buyers. Furthermore, I also do research before buying expensive items online by comparing product prices across various locations before purchasing. I also research prices across all marketplaces in my country, comparing official prices with marketplace prices, so I can see the price differences between online stores. In addition, I often compare vouchers offered by stores, such as free shipping, discounts and cashback to get the lowest total cost.

So, when buying something especially online we must be selective not only about price but also about the trustworthiness of the store itself. I don't go back and patronize any shop that their price is higher than others. As a matter of fact making price survey before purchasing any item is the best because it will make you buy it at the normal price and that will make you know the stores or malls that their price is cheaper in order for you to patronize them. I especially enjoy doing it especially when shopping online, I always look for similar products at different stores to compare prices and even the quality of the items. You can look up for stuff in the Internet, you don't even need to look between shops and even if you insist to check between shops, price won't be that much different.

If the price gap between the local shop and the Internet isn't that far off to the point that it feels like a rip off, I will buy and counting it as supporting local economy.

Most of the time I did this because its better to have different options and if the function are the same and it will deliver the quality are the product its better to have double checking the price sometimes people think we are lacking of option but in reality is we are getting lazy to find out more well the cons are you will need pay allotted time for finding out more products and prices of course this needs a quotation and you will visit different stores but imagine if you save up to 15-30% on the price which youve seem first for me its quite worthy.

Base on my experience most of the products are more discounted at the online stores because there are vouchers and discount than the physical stores well compared to it you need to wait and check upon delivery than you saw it already in person and can take home.

Currently, it's impossible to gather price information offline (especially from small retailers). However, big stores already offer this online (on their websites), allowing to (partially) compare prices from the comfort of your home and choose the store that's right for you. I believe big stores are already ahead of their time and are gradually replacing smaller retailers. Also, the convenience of big stores is that can buy almost everything you need in one place. Would you visit 2 or 3 stores for a small savings, wasting time and money (for example, on transportation costs)?

Therefore, I believe that in modern big cities, people are even willing to pay extra to save time (and their own laziness) by visiting just one store, instead of searching for cheaper items in different locations.

Indeed, I agree with you, but your reasoning does not hold water once you shift from the physical sidewalk into the web browser.  Comparing prices online takes seconds, not hours. There are tools and browser extensions that do the work for you instantly.

When we are physically visiting stores, it becomes very hard because they can be at different locations, prices could be changing daily, and inventory inconsistencies could cost us a lot of time and money. However, when we have spent years in one place, we come to know every single location, including the restaurants and cafes. We know which places have good seafood or Chinese food, and we know where we can get a good shawarma or Biryani haha.

With time, we find out about everything, but it takes a little while, we cannot just know everything in one day unless we are getting a tour from a native. I do not ask any natives as it is not in my nature, instead, I visit places myself. Whether I am buying groceries or devices, I will ask around at the shops and do my own analysis. When I am with my friends, we usually do this and call it "window shopping." This way, we learn about the price differences between different competitors, which is a good thing.

My country men and women are always fond of selling their goods with the price that's suit them, and the government doesn't care to even regulate the price of goods in a way it can be affordable for the common men and women. So since this kind of thing is common in my country, I always compare product prices in different shops for me to know the shop that's selling its products at a cheaper rate before purchasing any product I want or need.

This is basically done these days, isn't it? I mean there are still some items I am sure that you need to compare. But most everyday stuff are already easily found online if you want to, and as cheap as it gets and there is no reason to "compare" prices anymore. A diaper is a diaper, and the same brand of diaper or different brand, you can see it all online and you can compare it.

These days you can even compare the quality as well by checking the comments and ratings of the product and the company you are buying from. So, not like there are any reasons why we need to go shop by shop and check prices.
