Have you ever felt quitting gambling, but could not?

I was just pondering within myself why most gamblers keep complaining of the losses they incure in gambling but are unable to quit. There is one thing I noticed that keeps us gambling even when we are not at profit. Every gambler is full of optimism, even though we loose our bet, we still believe subsequent bet will favour us, and it may or may not also work that way. We sometimes see, and hear on the news how some bettors have won huge bet, and they flaunt on the news sometimes with the betting company or what they have achieved with the money they won. All those things we see are real, and they keep motivating us to gamble even while recording long time losses.

There are patient loosers who are lucky to hit it big after many seasons of losses, but still not every long term looser will be lucky enough to hit big win someday.
Sometimes, as gamblers we fill discouraged in the market, because long term losses. Therefore we should maintain carefulness as we remain in the gambling market, and gamble responsibly if at all you cannot quit as a result of losses.

Truthfully speaking all this things you said are part of reasons why people continue gambling even while in loss with this pictures and informations in mind about how people are winning and have won over the period of time, these things go as far as making one think and hope that the next big win might be you. One of other reasons why you can keep betting even while you are loosing is also as a result of a big win you must have had in the past, these is also one of the serious ways to keep you focused on continuous gambling not minding the outcome weather you win or are loosing you just keep having the hopes that somehow you would hit the jackpot sooner or later.

Actually, it's not that you can't stop, but because you have money to gamble. If you don't have money, someone will definitely stop because gambling requires money. My response is that you don't need to gamble if you feel depressed because of losing. If you regret it, that means you're not a responsible gambler.

More gamblers are going to realize that it's not worth it anymore if they've lost so much already.
But they will only accept that fact of their situation when gambling is not healthy on them anymore.
It seems that it forces them to quit and it won't be good to them to stay anymore because they could lose more than what they have lost already.

Its only the wise ones that will quit from gambling when they notice they are not getting what they are expecting and this is what makes them to stay out of problems that careless gambling offers but to those  that want to see the end of gambling even when the evidence has shown that its not no longer a game again but a battle and yet, they won't give up until they are totally drained. I have not reached that position yet, I'm not that desperate in gambling. I can easily quit from gambling if I want to, because in the first place, I'm not gambling to earn a living, I'm just gambling for fun, making money is just a bonus.

For now, I'm still making a good catch in gambling, and I'm really enjoying every thrill of it. But if time comes that I would be more chasing my losses, or gamble to escape my problems, and spend more time in gambling rather than focus on work, then I can tell by that time I would really need to leave gambling because its not making me healthy at all.

I don't think that you understand addiction, please read my post because I have shared some information about that. Most of the people on this forum that are writing in this section are addicted to gambling to some extent. Addiction is not an everything or nothing situation, it is a progressive system with many levels. People are addicted to many mobile phone games too, so why would they not be addicted to gambling? Even those that are purely playing for entertainment and with a limited budget are likely addicted to gambling to some level, because that is how it works. You would need to explicitly test yourself by willingly quitting for a long period of time to demonstrate that you are not addicted. Most people would not do it and would find a reason to explain why they wouldn't, such as I am not addicted anyway so why should I stop doing what I like for half a year? That is a sign of an addiction. People who are not addicted to something can stop it today and never resume it in their whole lives, but that is rare.

Funny because that is what almost everyone who is addicted to something says, that they can quit if they wanted to but they simply don't want to quit. Have you tried to quit gambling before for a long period of time? If you have not, then don't be so sure that you can until it is proven. You may be in for quite a bad surprise.

As long as there is hope of winning in front, it will be hard to give up gambling because of this long time of losing, and as long as you are not spending the money big at once, you will not also feel the pain that much.

As for those who take and consider gambling as a full-time investment or business, only they can give a reason why they have not quit doing something they have been into for long without accounting for at least a 10% ROI on a yearly basis.

That's certain hope of winning is really the one motivating us not to give up gambling and just continue doing so, who knows in the next days, months or year, we can make it big from gambling. Otherwise, it could be a missed opportunity for us, and we don't want that way.

That is the chemistry behind gambling, actually most gamblers gamble# for money and not for fun that is why they feels like quiting but they cannot since they keep on chasing their losses in other to recover their money and so cannot stop, they see themselves that they have wasted too much in gambling to just let it go like that .

It is difficult to quit gambling if there is a lot of attraction towards gambling in the mind and is addicted to gambling because a person addicted to gambling always moves forward with the hope of winning a huge amount. This set of gamblers are the ones that  end up commiting suicide since they don't want to stop on time by the time they fall deep into gambling they may not even think about stopping anymore rather they will be looking for something to do that would make them forget all the loses they incur in gambling. We don’t know for sure what’s the real intention of each gambler unless there’s an honest poll done but it’s normal to feel regretful or need to quit after they lose because losing is a painful experience.

Someone who is not addicted in gambling will quit from gambling at any moments, because is not interested to regain what it has lost from gambling...but someone who is addicted and a dependent of gambling to survive can not easily quit from gambling because what it ought to benefit from gambling..

The factors that makes people to find it difficult to quit from gambling, it's because if you have spend much from gambling and you are interested to benefit whatever you have lost, it will be more difficult to leave gambling early...it's a wise decision to quit from gambling if you're not benefiting from gambling...

Frankly speaking, I'm all aware how much I've already lost from gambling, I'm not that addicted into, but I'm sure I lost bigger compared to the amount I won. But it never crossed my mind to quit from gambling. Maybe I know I can still be of myself and manage my losses, or its just that I don't want to quit from gambling because I'm pretty sure there's a huge luck reserved for me in the near future.

Quitting is never that hard if you willingly want to do it. But if your mind is telling you to never stop yet, then that makes it hard to leave gambling. At least your mind and emotions should make mutual decision.

With the way most betting platforms are designed these days, they don’t really make it easy for you to quit. Everything is set up to keep you coming back, quick access, constant notifications, bonuses!! so you just stay glued without even realizing it. And that small hope of maybe the next bet will win!! is what keeps people going, even after many losses. Plus seeing others win big online just adds more pressure to keep trying. so it is not just about willpower, the system itself is built to keep you in. That is why it takes extra discipline to step away, because if you don’t consciously decide to stop, it can easily keep pulling you back in.

It's funny how some gamblers really convince themselves and make a deposit after losing that one; they still make another, and what's really inside of them keeps on convincing them that the next one might give them back all the losses, and even when they manage to win a few hands that day, when checked very well, they have lost more than they actually won, and some of them, until they run out of balance, never stop gambling.

I personally feel I am pretty much in control over my habits, so I have never been in a situation in which I would desire to quit gambling and I could not. If I feel like stopping for a week or a month, I can easily do so, since I am not even close to being considered a gambling addict.

One needs to have a very good level of self-awareness in order to realize those problems exist within one's life.

Best form of gambling is gambling for fun, you are not gambling for the money and the money being spent is already budgeted for so it's not a problem at all, it's just like someone paying for a service or so though gambling is better because you get a chance of winning and getting that money plus profit back from the service.

It is often said that quitters never win and winners are those who did not quit, if as a gambler, you are so obsessed with the desire to win and make money, and you keep trying but the wins are forth coming, then you have to either be patient or quit gambling and look for somewhere to invest those monies spent on the games, but if you are like me who chooses to gamble for fun, then you can continue to gamble, having fun and who knows, maybe sooner than you expect, you might end up hitting the jackpot.
