No matter the losses experienced, every gambler is optimistic that the odds of winning in gambling will be in their favor. It doesn't matter how long it took to have the win, they will keep trying their luck till the win comes.

Unfortunate, a gambler is not really about how optimistic you have been or become in the past years of gambling. I have seen some scenarios that the well thought games become a loss and games not given much concern, turn out to be a win. It has happened many times to me, and I believe other gamblers experience it.

Therefore, I would agree that, gambling is about luck. It can come your way at any time when you least expect it. You will have that smile that will brighten your day for the win

I would like to start with, there is no profit or loss in the gambling, either you win money or lose the bet which is different though.

Of course there is, you can calculate profit or loss with anything including entertainment. The question is not whether something exists or not, the question is more if you should think that way about something. In the case of gambling it should never be seen that way, and it is a basic mistake that many made. When they look at it like that even if it is just sometimes that means that they are gambling for money and that is not a good approach.

Long term losers or one time losers that doesn't change anything because the outcome of each bet is completelty irrelevant to past and future outcomes so you may win a million dollar in the only bet you made in a life or you didn't even win anything at all even after you bet for million times.

This is true, it is also often a mistake that people think and is a known fallacy. Like if you have lost 10 times on black, the 11th time it must be black. It must not, the chance is independent each time and has the same probability. People are confusing probabilities of individual outcomes with probabilities of streaks of outcomes and using the inappropriate one at the wrong times because they didn't study math.

Someone who is not addicted in gambling will quit from gambling at any moments, because is not interested to regain what it has lost from gambling...but someone who is addicted and a dependent of gambling to survive can not easily quit from gambling because what it ought to benefit from gambling..

The factors that makes people to find it difficult to quit from gambling, it's because if you have spend much from gambling and you are interested to benefit whatever you have lost, it will be more difficult to leave gambling early...it's a wise decision to quit from gambling if you're not benefiting from gambling...

Not entirely true, even non-addicted gamblers often think of their losses, and those who gamble more than what they can afford to lose do not necessarily fall under gambling addicts. They may have a problem with self-control during those time but it does not make them automatically addicted to gambling because they can still quit gambling anytime they want.  They have no control over how much they will spend, but it does not say they have an uncontrollable urge to gamble.

If they think about losses often, they are addicted so there is no benefit to call them non-addicted. A person who is not addicted to something will not make mistakes such as gambling above their means except with new players but they are ignored in this discussion, unless you want to call such people stupid? Similar to that when people do in other forms of entertainment they don't think about their past money spent. When you decide to go to a cinema, do you think oh I spent already $2000 in cinema in my life so maybe I shouldn't do that again? You don't do that because you are not addicted to the activity and you are doing it for entertainment.

Optimistic is one important tools every gambler has , I know how many times I felt like quitting, but the next day I’m seriously  booking a game with the hope of winning, if yesterday didn’t favour me maybe today will , that has kept many gamblers in game.

The word quitting is easier said than done.

It's easy to tell myself I'll be quitting gambling the next day but still struggling to close my browser after I just made a win that I hadn't made in the past few days.

Many complications are involved, emotions, all working together to keep you when you just want to let it go. If being lucky wasn't random, many gamblers would have been rich. Losses will come but stay only for a while.

That is exactly where we should be able to control ourself from overgambling and get addicted to gambling.
Many of us would have faced the same situation where we are out of luck and had lost a lot of money, something that we couldn't afford to lose.

If you assume subsequent bet will be positive after losing the previous bet, that's your emotion trying to take control of you and you should never give it the chance to control you. As a gambler, I believe we've experienced this before in one way or another in the process of gambling. We'll tell ourselves we quit gambling after losing some significant amount but after a few days or week we found ourselves getting back to it. It's all lack of emotional control and that's unfortunately how addiction kick in if the inability to control your emotions become extreme. To quit gambling, you don't need to take that decision after losing money because you're not the one taking the decision that time but your inner emotions controlling you.

I think it is not very easy to control emotions in gambling. You have to fight with your emotions and feelings at every moment. Normally in sports betting you want to bet on a strong team but when emotions start working in you then you may give more priority to the amount of return. We have already made the biggest mistake in trying to recover from this loss. If we can accept the losses and stop playing, then no more problems will arise, but we are facing failure to do this. We cannot think of giving up gambling because we cannot accept these losses, and this is our biggest weakness. If we can accept the losses, then we can also stop ourselves at the right time, and we can also protect ourselves from major losses. so, everything depends on self-control, if we can control ourselves responsibly within the limits of our ability, then no more problems will arise.

Most times after a near win I get annoyed to the point of telling myself I won't be gambling again, it's just a temporary outburst, it's not lti lost too much to that single bet, why it annoys me is simply because I can usually almost taste my winning only for something to happen and ruin the whole thing, like in sports gambling with a multiple bet and all but one plays in your favour, most annoying part is that it's usually the last game that brings about your loss, I get so annoyed after such games but still not something that winning make me quit.

Your argument is right that it is difficult to quit gambling and losses create frustration, so to compensate for the previous losses, people start gambling again and continue like this. But I do not agree with the saying that "one win can be the beginning of something good" because this thought does not allow gamblers to get out of their addiction. So if someone cannot quit gambling, then he should gamble with the money that if he loses, it will not affect his daily life. Actually that's a nice observation, and that is exactly what makes gamblers keep Gambling and complaining of loses but never get tired or even quit. In the worst case, it's just a poverty factor. Gamblers who spend more money come from wealthier groups, not lower income groups. But the ones affected the most are the lower income group. They keep trying hard to win, so they can get out of poverty faster.

I can quit on anything if I want but gambling isn't one of them, because I have no reason to quit gambling, I do lose money but I risked what I was ready to lose, and also it's not a must that I gamble in a week.

I have took some weeks off gambling in this 2026, without no good reason behind It, I just feel like I am not in mood for gambling and so was how two weeks was gone without checking on any online casinos.

Feeling like quitting is normal but actually quitting is hard, there are many gamblers who thought that quitting is the solution but what they really need is some time off gambling, after a while they will feel like gambling again.
