What do you think — is there any strategy that actually lets you win consistently on sports betting and finish every month in profit ? 

I’ve been trying to bet on favorites with odds around 1.4–1.7, but I still end up in the negative by the end of the month. Maybe betting on favorites is a bad strategy, so I’m thinking about switching things up.

The bookies love bettors that only bet the favorites. I don't know what sports you are betting but look at the matchups and take the points with the underdog once in awhile. If the teams are close in talent, the underdogs aren't a bad bet especially in sports like basketball.

The only "strategy" is to bet and guess the result correctly. You can analyze the statistics, but that won't guarantee wins. When it comes to betting, everything is very unpredictable; you can lose betting on the favorite and the best team and win betting on the last-placed team. Don't look for a magic formula; just bet and good luck!

You are right that there are no magic formulas, but you are missing the point that there are ordinary formulas for overestimation and underestimation. If you sell overvalued outcomes and buy undervalued ones, you'll profit in the long run. The problem is that bookmakers are more likely to have this ability than regular bettors (they organize the game and have a margin), but that doesn't mean you shouldn't look for options for yourself.

Some strategies might be works at the beginning but it's hard to gets consistent winning although you were place your bets at the low odds for each games but there is no guarantee those strategies can useful for long term and if you do the method about place your bets to favourite teams for every bets indeed the good thing is your winning statistics is pretty good but don't talking about more about the profit because some favourite teams has odds 1.2 or even lower which make if bets on this option would be useless however what i wanted to says is don't focused to looking for the strategies how to won consistent in sport betting because there is no such thing although you are doing great for analysis the games but it cannot avoiding you to lost and no matter what games do you played and strategies you used but eventually you will needed lucky to won the games

I don't know if there is any strategy can lets you win consistently on sports betting monthly. But if you continue learning about analyzing and how to gathers the data from trust sources, you have your chance to win although that is not guarantee. The match can change when starts so you can't expect to win every time you bet.

I suggest you learning the analysis and search for the right sources and place a bet with the right pick, maybe that is not always right but at least you can pick the right and expect for the win.

You can make more strategies and apply or modify each to works with the current situation but be careful, as you are gamble, there is a big chance to lose so you must understand that the lose is certain.

I have not heard of any such strategy. I don't think any gambler is aware of the strategy of winning consistently. There is no guarantee that the team you bet on will win through analysis. Especially in gambling, your experience inspires you to make good decisions and increases your confidence, but every time you bet, you have to base your guesses on assumptions and assumptions are never perfect. Even if your analysis of the teams is satisfactory, there is no guarantee that that team will win. There is no fixed strategy to increase the winning rate in sports betting, but experience plays a large role in achieving perfect results.

The only real strategy is understanding the sport, following it as a hobby you like and which makes you passionate about it (not as a job you "have to do") and of course knowing the players on the team as well as their historical results. Other than that? I do not think there is any strategy which will turn the tide in your favor. You can hedge your bets, but I would consider that risk management not winning strategy.

Betting with a cold mind can prevent you from making serious mistakes that would damage your balance suddenly and seriously, which is not a small thing, but at also doesn't guarantee that you'll always win in the long run. The OP is asking as if there was some way to turn sports betting into a secure source of income, and the quick answer is that there isn't. It should never be taken for what it is not, and bet for any reason other than entertainment and just try one's luck.

Over the years of my gambling activities I haven't really come across a specific strategy that if used is a must win for the gambler, we can only improve in our sports betting activities on how we analyze games and team performances to determine the kind of games we select while staking our bets.

There's no guaranteed strategies that can make one win because gambling is an unpredictable game that one can't determine the outcome no matter the strategies and skills used, with the little knowledge we know about sports betting I think we should just gamble for fun and entertainment and forget about thinking there's a specific strategy that gives winning other than being lucky. Winning in gambling comes from the place of luck and lest I forget gambling is programmed in such a way that it profits the owners than us the gamblers, so we should stake carefully with what we can afford to loose because there's no betting strategies to consistent winnings.

So far gambling is concern, no strategy gives a gambler full guarantee to win bets, that is no strategy can give you winning all the time. However to be on the safer side, it is very important you research on your games before placing bet on them. When you make proper analysis on your bet, you make more informed decision. Some gamblers on gamble only in one direction maybe they only play straight wins, but when you carry out proper analysis you discover every game or team has their own pattern of play and you place your bets according to the teams pattern of play.

No. If such a thing existed, the bookies would eventually lose all of their money and there would be no more sports betting. People really do not understand even the basics of economics and incentives.

That is not a strategy. That is just a random choice that you have made. You could bet on favorites with odds 1.1 or lower and you would still lose, because that is not how you are supposed to play this.

Technical analysis and a change in mindset. Focusing on favorites and underdogs based on what the public says has always been wrong. Investigate historically just how many surprises there are on games all the time, so the range of odds that you have picked actually lose quite often -- you are just not paying attention. Technical analysis as in the complete analysis of both teams that are playing, where they are playing, their historical performances and so forth is the best bet but that does not guarantee anything either. What you really need is a mindset change, you need to learn that there is nothing in gambling world that can guarantee that you win consistently and in profit.

Another thing that can help a gambler is when you avoid greed, greed can cause you to loose bet than expected. You reduce the number of games you play couple with good research strategy.

Actually, some of the biggest tickets and winnings that I have seen contained a very large number of games played. Therefore, this is not viable as a strategy and you can lose on a single game with 1.1 odds just as much as you can lose on a ticket with 10 games with much higher odds.

1.4 /1.7 is appromately 2.00 odd which every good gambler can provide all the time, if you can't provide it for your self meet your gambling mate, to me I can predict sure two odds at any time just try as much as you can to start learning how to predict 2.00 odds first or you join your mate and be gambling it, but I think it's dangerous rather than the one you predict to your self.

Is so funny how some people thinks that winning is tired to betting on favorites and with certain odds allocation, an amateur gambler will always think that there are options that guarantees winning this is because of their high level of curiosity as they dive in to gambling newly which is normal, there is no guarantee of winning consistently with any sort of strategy in sports betting even a strategy that works well with you today can disappoint you tomorrow, there is nothing wrong switching strategy at any point you are no longer comfortable with the one you are using but every gambler should have it in mind that there is no strategy that will always let you win consistently, the day you win with any of the strategies is your lucky day and this is how sports betting works in my little experience

Is there really a winning strategy to betting? Maybe there is, but i would rather call it a guide over calling it a strategy. And yes, familiarity with the stats and players are a good start for s successful bet as that could tell a lot about how a match could go.

Before the match begins, there is a shortlisted names of players that would start tye game and I think that would really help with the outcome of the game. You can monitor injured players and how well the team operates and that would increase your chances of winning.

By looking at the decisions you’ve made in the past and analyzing them, you can improve your betting decisions in the future.

Never expect consistent profits in gambling as luck is also a factor in winning. You might hope to win easily by picking the favorites but even the best teams started out unknown and gradually improved until they become the favorit. Don’t rush when making gambling decisions take your time and if possible, look for additional references to convincing your choices

Maybe you won't read my post, but assuming you do, my advice is this: forget about betting for profit, forget about it. Get that out of your head as soon as possible. Start facing reality, sports betting isn't something that will give you long-term profits. If you want something that will give you long-term profit, then do business in the real world or look for a job in the real world. But I only gamble for fun. From your post, I assume you're gambling with the intention of making a profit and you're losing money. Gambling is great when played responsibly. I, for one, only gamble for fun.

Overall I bet on the favorite team is not reliable even though the odds are low... during this month I myself experienced many losses in the champions league, Europa League and other leagues, I have tried many strategies but ultimately failed.

I just think under single bets are better... while parlay is one of the risky bets so you don't do parlay too often.

Whatever gambling you participate in. There's no strategy that guarantees consistent winning or finishing every month with profits, than you understand the concept of the game, know how to gamble profitably, manage your bankroll very well, and go for the game/match you strongly believe has a high probability of giving you the winning chance you wanted.

Sportsbetting these days has grown more than just believing in high probability match outcomes, because one has to have more than one betting strategy up their sleeves like value betting I already read up in one of the comments here. There's also the strategy of betting on a specialized market like overs and unders and Asian handicaps, there's also what is called arbitrage betting and there's the strategy that demands proper bankroll management like the kelly Criterion.

Consistency alone is not enough if a gambler intends to have an upper hand against the house week in, week out and that's a fact.

You have a point that going for a high probability match doesn't guarantee the game outcome, and i never say it's the only strategy that guarantees the needed winning, but at least it is also one of the strategies that gives a high chance of winning, and that's why i said no strategy guarantees consistent winning.
Having said that, I don't know how the arbitrage betting maybe it's something i already have with a different name/understanding. Is it like the trading arbitrage?

Casino games or sports betting, still it boils down to how lucky you are the moment when you are gambling.  If you don't have luck, but you have skills and a strategy that works in your past bets, I don't think that would be sufficient enough that may lead you to win from your bet.

When we only has skills without knowing that luck is a big factor, then this can become the state of mind of many overconfident people. The safest bet have a risk of an unforeseen loss in the event that the situation or the system happen not to be in your favor. It is indeed the case that the extent to which you will suffer through your daily life is of much more importance than the negative effect of gambling on your daily living amount. Be cautious and noone should undermine the factor of uncertainty.
