what I understand is these are players who consistently make profit, and that’s why bookies don’t like them and eventually limit their accounts. But I’m not sure how true this is, sometimes I also see claims from bettors saying they got limited just because they were winning but at the same time, there are also people who try to abuse promos, multi-account, or use unfair methods, then blame the sportsbook after getting restricted.
So honestly I’m a bit confused on this. Do sportsbooks really limit players just for being profitable, or is this just something some bettors say to protect their image after getting caught doing something against the rules?
In most cases, it's always just a cover up on the restriction they broke. Nobody really wants to throw themselves under the bus, that's why you'll keep seeing hundreds if not thousands of posts on the scam accusation board. The casinos on the other hand can limit a bettor for different reasons, but there are already enough limitations on default.
For those who have experience with this, especially in crypto sportsbooks, what actually triggers limits?
Is it really consistent profit, or more on betting patterns and behavior?
I'll go with betting patterns. Their win limit and the house edge controls the consistent profits.
