Hello all,

My name is Cristian and I cannot believe what happened to me in recent weeks. Ever since I joined Bets.io on 29th March it has been one big misery. I deposited 30mbtc and played 4 MLB bets.
30mbtc on Toronto Blue Jays - The Athletics Under 9.5 runs @ 1,61 which won me 18.3 mbtc on March 29th
40mbtc on Colorado Rockies to win @ 1,87 which won me 34.8mbtc on March 31st
8.3mbtc on Colorado Rockies to win @ 1,82 which won me 6.8mbtc on March 31st
1.3mbtc on Minnesota - Kansas Under 9.5 runs @ 1.39 which lost April 2nd

After this, my balance was 89 mbtc and I decided to request a withdrawal of 30mbtc on April 2nd. When the next day it was still not received I emailed my VIP manager Paul (yes, I had been given a VIP manager assigned right on the first day I joined) what was going on. His response was:

"I'll ask our financial to speed up your withdrawal, but please note that your first withdrawal might take some more time. Thank you for your understanding!"
When the next day I still didn't receive the withdrawal his reponse was:

"I have forwarded your withdrawal request for review to the finance department. I will do everything possible to speed up the withdrawal process. I understand how frustrating it is to wait so long, but I will do my best to resolve this issue as soon as possible. For now, please be patient, and if there is any update, I will get back to you. Thank you for your understanding."

Then after 5 days of waiting, the withdrawal was rejected and added back to my balance. I asked Paul again what was going on and this was his response:

Thank you for completing your profile. At this stage of verification, we kindly ask you to provide the following documents in response to this email:

- Photo of the document, which proves your identity (Passport, Driving License or official Government-issued ID card). Please, note that your full name, date of birth and the document's expiry date should be visible.
- Photo of the document that confirms your address (utility bill, bank statement, which has your name and address fully specified). The document must be dated within the last 90 days.
- Please, upload a selfie with both a passport and a paper (in one hand), with a sign ""Hi, Bets.io and the current date"". Pay attention: your hand and the document must be seen in full. It should be any type of a lined sheet but not blank.
- Please upload a photo/screenshot of your cryptocurrency wallet with a deposit confirmation from 2026-03-29 18:27:11 UTC in the amount of 0.03000000 BTC (sender's address, recipient's address, time and amount must be visible on one screenshot)

In case, you provided the whole package of documents and all the rules were met, we will inform you. Otherwise, we can request to upload new documents that will comply with the rules of our casino.

Thank you for your understanding."

Then, the misery started: I sent them the selfie, ID photo and the Electrum screenshot with my deposit proof. I got the reply that I first needed to enter all my details in my account, including a valid phone number to be verified. I registered all my data and verified my phone number. Then I had to send the selfie, screenshot of Electrum wallet and ID photo again and I did so. But I got a reply back that the quality of the documents was not good enough and we had 3 weeks long back and forth emails with all the time excuses why the documents sent were not meeting their rediculous high standards. In total I think I sent 5 new selfies with each time a new piece of paper with the date handwritten and the text of their choosing on the paper.

On May 6th the selfies and screenshot were finally confirmed to be fully approved, so I thought it was finally done and my withdrawal of 45mbtc requested on April 21st would be soon processed. But the next day I was informed I also had to undergo a video call conversation. I scheduled an appointment via Google Meet to have this video call on May 12th and the video call took about 15 mins and it looked like they were satisfied with my answers. They asked stuff about bets I placed, devices used, IP-address, deposit amounts etc. And I had to show my ID on camera again.

So, after all of this was out of the way I FINALLY thought the hassle was done and my withdrawal would be processed. And then today I received this message:

Following a review of your account activity, a decision has been made in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and Anti-Fraud Policy.

Due to the detection of prohibited strategies and activity patterns considered to provide an unfair advantage, the amount of 0.08893391 BTC has been subtracted from the account balance, and the account has been permanently closed.

Please note that under Section 11 of our Anti-Fraud Policy, the Company reserves the right to void winnings, withhold withdrawals, and terminate accounts where fraudulent, abusive, manipulative, or prohibited activity is identified.

This decision is final.

Thank you for your understanding."

So, they are just CONFISCATING my entire balance including deposit. And let me do all of this KYC hassle for weeks and a video call, and then just steall all my funds.

No details, just this message with a final decision. It is absolutely disgusting and unfair that they confiscate funds based on 4 MLB bets (these were all the bets I placed ever in the account). Totally normal bets, no robot, no betting techniques, no mutltiple accounts, just normal betting on a big famous sport.  Odds on other websites were also totally comparable.

I am STUNNED!!!!! It looks like you are just not allowed to win anything in Bets.io.
They hassle you so much with rediculous KYC requirements hoping you give up or make a mistake and then when you don't they just give a BULLSHIT reason to steal all your funds

I'm wondering what type of prohibited strategies and activity patterns they detected to take such a strong step against you. Whatever the reason is, they should have refunded your deposits. Casinos only confiscate the deposits if the user is in profit by using multiple accounts. Bets.io sportsbook odds provider is SoftSwiss. We don't see too many complaints related to the sports event of SoftSwiss provider sportsbook. It seems like you were placing bets when the match was live, isn't it?

You should send a PM to Bets.io representative (Bets.io_Nikita) to inform about this accusation. You may submit a complaint at Askgamblers if you don't get help from them here.

The campaign manager might not help, but he advises that a 3rd party arbitrator might be the best option, and he will try to make sure Bets.io tries to comply with the verdict
Bitcointalk has never been a place for resolving complaints. AsK is a third party, so all complaints are reviewed there, and I, in turn, will take steps to ensure Bets complies with their decision.

Some complaints seem to have been coming up lately, but maybe their forum representatives might want to engage to avoid this from turning into a bc.game kind of situation.

Yes, don't give up. I saw you have also raised that concern in their announcement thread as well, and you are doing the right things. Also, don't forget to raise concerns on the gambling monitors' (mediators) site and on their social media as well. Unless they solve the problems here, keep the thread open and wait for their response here.

It's quite surprising to me that they haven't responded on this thread yet, also I saw Yahoo left neutral feedback on their profile, though it's for another accusation. On the other hand, their representative seems pretty much active on the forum but is ignoring this thread and the scam accusation board as well.

[1] [2] 'Cause right now, I don't seem to see any new complaint posted against them on AskGamblers despite us telling you to make one. If I were in your position, I'd certainly make a complaint everywhere that I can just to get their attention.

When I started working with Bets, I explicitly stated that there should be a trusted third party to resolve such cases... a party with which any casino can share internal data—one with experience in such cases.

I refer people to an independent third party to render a verdict, and this forum has dozens, even hundreds, of cases that have been successfully resolved with the help of askgamblers. Therefore, you can only tag Best after a user submits a request and AskGamblers issues a verdict in their favor (and if Best refuses to comply, I'll also tag them red).

Otherwise, with the same success and for the same reason, you and I could tag 30 casinos red. As a result, projects will begin to perceive this space as toxic, and the forum ecosystem will enter a recession (if you can call it that, considering that the forum ecosystem is 80% supported by marketing money). Fewer projects, less activity, and less spam, including from those who form the core of the community. The decrease in average payout rates after the ban on mixer ads is a prime example of this. Considering that the admin doesn't plan to spend a single cent from the forum coffers on revitalizing this place, everyone will feel the long-term consequences of seemingly insignificant decisions.

It's true this forum isn't for fraud investigation, but also this forum isn't for running fraud services. Those are obvious scammer, we should prevent them together. I know all the casino aren't shady, a lot of casino doing great despite having some allegations.

Agree, most of the time I also prefer to do so.

To be honest, very rarely have I been tagging gambling sites. If you check my feedback, then you may notice. I definitely understand what you mean, and that's the reason I am pretty much soft with gambling platforms. It's true we can't do a complete investigation, and we don't have that right as well since casinos don't want to share personal data with us. But the thing is I encourage them to respond to the scam accusation to explain the situation.

It's not too hard to respond here; all the victims aren't coming here. Those who are familiar with the forum, they only come here. I know all the allegations aren't true as well, so unless the casino explains that, how would we know?

Btw, I have revised my feedback to neutral from your advice. Ask them to ping me when this issue is solved; I will remove it, the victim isn't necessarily always right. If they abuse the system, then they should be punished as well. So the outcome of an allegation is a matter either positive or negative for the victim.

It's not about what you or I want. Casinos with multi-million dollar turnovers will never share internal, confidential information with ordinary "trusted" users who participate in a $100 per/week sig campaign (especially when tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars are at stake).

Moreover, such "trusted" users are easy to manipulate... the project only needs to pay a one-time "bonus" for a supposedly fair decision (and this works both ways... when the victim declares that they will give up 50% of their winnings for "help").

The second reason is that internal investigation tools can be made public without their consent, which means their internal security tools will be exposed. AskGambler is a kind of neutral party trusted by users, and casinos aren't afraid to share sensitive details, so choosing this arbitrator is the most objective option.

It's not about what you or I want. Casinos with multi-million dollar turnovers will never share internal, confidential information with ordinary "trusted" users who participate in a $100 per/week sig campaign (especially when tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars are at stake).
On that point I agree with you. Because I have raised concerns on the reputation regarding creating a forum team where the casino would provide some evidence. Then it came to my mind what you said above, and I gave up this idea. I realised this isn't easy to handle and would be manipulated somehow; either the casino or the user could manipulate it.

Yes, I know and noticed some cases solved by them. To be honest if the casino is silent, then it's a matter for me; I like to hear back from them at least to know they are here to support forum users. Even they could ask simply with a line to raise concern on the AskGambler, that's enough for me. The casino is also getting a lot of gamblers from the forum besides the forum users getting benefits from them through various campaigns. As a forum member, I always welcome new gambling sites here, so I always want to remind them of their responsibility. I never think to just push them.

As someone who has also been scammed by Bets.io thank you for coming forward. This is a scam black hole website. Beware of sock puppet accounts coming in to slander you and are agents of bets.io. This website is pathetic. They’re so busy stealing from people instead of just running a legitimate gambling website. The ridiculous steps they made you go through are the same steps they made me go through. It’s the same script for everyone they steal from. I really wish this forum would put out a warning against them unless they start making these situations right.

Nobody should give Bets.io business unless they like being stolen from.
Go to trustpilot. Bets.io got caught posting fake reviews there. In addition Askgamblers is not good becuse bets.io has in their T&CS a clause that allows them to seize your funds. And when they pull that clause Askgamblers doesn’t get involved.

Moral of the story: stay away from a scam unaccredited site like bets.io that steals from you and is running a whole charade of a casino website. I hope bitcointalk will do the right thing and put these guys on blast to warn future victims. The fact they’re running around these forums as a legitimate website is absurd. Feel free to PM me if I can be of any assistance as someone who was also scammed by them. Good luck, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Beware of links that bets.io sends you, remember these are scammers.

I am not familiar with AskGamblers. Are they known to be fair in judging?
Yeah, Askgamblers is a reliable platform for dispute resolution. They work as a 3rd party mediator and are very popular for resolving disputes related to online casinos. Askgamblers complaints team makes the judgement by looking into the evidence provided by both parties. In my first post on this thread, I advised you to submit a complaint to Askgamblers. You would have seen some progress on your complaint if you had already made it.

Well, I spent 1 hour writing my complaint and including several screenshots on Askgamblers yesterday and today I heard that they are not even taking on my complaint. They didn't want to give further explanation but I guess they have a lot of other work to do or don't want to handle complaints that have to do with sportsbetting only. Same goes also for CasinoGuru.

So I suggested to icopress if I can pick another complaint resolution service instead and am now waiting for the answer.

One thing is 100% sure, I will not rest until I have my money, or until at least an independent party had a look at my case

They didn't want to give further explanation but I guess they have a lot of other work to do or don't want to handle complaints that have to do with sportsbetting only. What do you mean not taking your complaint? Are you unable to even submit a complaint? I am not sure how it works, but since other members are able to submit their complaints, you should be able to do it. If the Bets don't respond there, then it's different issues, and we may talk further about why they aren't complying with mediators.

AskGambler and Casino Guru seem to be the most popular mediators. How is it possible that you can't submit your complaint even to any mediators? Check again and try to search how to submit a complaint properly. Then wait a few days for their reply. I am pretty sure gambling sites have to comply with the mediators.

And initially I received an email stating they had received my submitted complaint. But then the next day they sent an email that it was rejected, without citing a real reason.

Sometimes they do forgo certain cases and tell you to use the relevant Authority for proper resolution. Especially issues involving sports betting. I suggest you try to do what they have proposed and take the dispute to the gambling Authority directly.

Now my question is, have you taken this step yet?
