Politicians are not aliens. They are voted or selected from the society. The type of leaders is a reflection of the society. A corrupt society will always give birth to corrupt government officials. Politicians don't rig elections; it is the people who help them execute it. Only corrupt citizens will accept money from politicians and sell their votes. The societal values and norms shape the political culture. In a corrupt society, a politician who doesn't steal or promote favoritism is seen as weak or sluggish.

Politics is meant to represent the people, but most times it ends up favoring those with power, money or influence instead of ordinary citizens. People vote and expect better living conditions, but after elections many politicians focus more on staying in power or fighting opponents than solving real problems people face every day. Take a good look at what’s happening in many countries today with high food prices, inflation and unemployment. citizens keep complaining about how hard life is, but a lot of politicians are more focused on political battles and global issues than helping the average person. So in some ways politics reflects society, but it can also become disconnected from the people it is supposed to serve.

Yes, the politics that occurs is a reflection of the community because the stakeholders in government institutions come from the community itself, this is indirectly like that, if you see government corruption you also see the majority in your environment whether there is bribery and other fraudulent practices, if yes then that is the root of the problem that occurs.

Not accurate, politics is the reflection of who is in the power while society is the reflection of all the people combined and how the ruling happens in the region. It kind of looks symbiotic in democracy since one among us take the spot to rule but once they reach that position they aften slips away from their original intention and starts focusing on the personal benefits.

The thing is, there is a small group of intellectualized individuals who tend to romanticize politics and society, as they live in a bubble far from the harsh reality.

Intellectuals have spare time to spend on theories, which result in cliches where politics is seen as something to involve principles, values and morals, at same time the masses are identified as hard working and honest people who suffer on the hands of bad politicians (the victims and the villains).

The intellectuals narrate that tale, although it has nothing to do with reality, and ends being just used as narrative by corrupted politicians and manipulators when the tale sounds interesting for their own personal current interests.

Therefore, politics don't fail reflecting the values of society. They totally reflect the values (or the lack of values) of society, besides the ignorance contained on it. Partially, it's thanks to the hypocritical intellectuals that society works in cycles of lies and manipulation.

Politics being shaped by the society means that it's actually the reflection of it. But, this is where everything stumbles because the elected officials changes their paths whenever they're already on the seat. There goes who are for the people, and there goes who are for their personal gain.

Even though citizens talks and vote , at the end it's little groups that controls decisions, influence and Money and sometimes politicians go after party interest ,personal gain or pressure from the elite more than what the common people really want. The politicians I know are not voted for or selected by society. Politicians are those who forcefully take power from the people around them. They are sponsored by the wealthy. Before they become the leaders, some elites give them the position they contest for. Meaning the leaders we see are not truly the leaders, but the representatives of the leaders. The main leaders are on top without any title, telling the representative what to do and what not to do.

I don't think politics is reality; it's a stage play. and the climax of the story is when officials undergo a personality transition when they're trying to get votes and after they've gained power.
In many developing countries, political failure can actually be identified early by observing the nomination and campaign procedures. What I often see is that people unconsciously support practices that violate political norms, such as collusion and nepotism.

Those who are into politics are called politicians and they do everything possible to get the people put them into power. Manipulation is one of the tools used by politicians because they believe politics is all about doing all you can to ensure you get what you want so they make promises, manipulate its citizens, they go extra miles promising even what they can’t achieve and at that moment the citizens are full of hope and expectation but when they finally got into power they fail to deliver on their promises and that is why politics now doesn’t really reflect the interests of the citizens.

Life at times can be very cruel to people at times. This politicians are people who should have passion for the people they are in authority over needs more support from them at the top. Many of this politicians don't have the masses at heart as there intentions are to make money from the government pulse and enrich themselves by every available means they have to do that.
The bad people in some of this positions would not allow the will ones among them to execute what they really have a n mind to do that will bring peace and promote good governance.

Politics is just social events that's tied to authorities and regulations governing the place. Of course the politics in question could also be a practice through community cultural activities.
Don't also be deceived if you think politics isn't effective in the rural places like the ghettos and the underdeveloped places where it seems like everyone has privilege to misbehave or acting disorganized in the society.
Also, no matter how a community will be, there's always politics being structured to govern the vicinities.
Don't also forget that we've local and international political structures so that you don't think it's only those whose political views is centered to expand economy system in the areas that's is being politicized.

Intentions can be hidden. A political aspirant will not show his true intentions from the start. If he has a bad intention, he will come out to show good tidings to the people so that the people will believe he has a good intention. The intention of a leader will be known after he has taken the leadership position because, like they always say, "nothing is hidden under the sun". At that point, the people can't choose a new leader until another time for appointing one comes. However, in the past, a bad leader could be impeached, but I find that it does not happen in this era.
