The risk or danger of gambling is always there even when we gamble for fun, limit our budget and have good discipline. We should only gamble for entertainment so that we do not focus on profit or regret our losses. That mindset makes it easier for us to move on whenever luck is not on our side. This is very true  just because someone is gambling for fun and entertainment doesn't mean he can't be addicted to it, there's every tendency that the gambler will be addicted as he is allocating some percentage of his money to gamble for fun and derive entertainment from it, I usually tell my friends that those of them that thinks gambling for fun is not the same thing as gambling for profit that it's the same thing because it's still the same money we are all using the only difference is that the one gambling for fun can easily let go of the money he lost in the process while the one gambling for profit will be regretting because he has build his hope on the winning and at the longrun he got disappointed for not winning.

Self control is the most important thing if you're gambling for entertainment or for profit because it's another thing to set up a gambling budget and it's another thing to stick to the it and quit the game at the right time. When a gambler thinks of playing for leisure, it's fun and take no kind of funds that'll lead to regret or pain. Cmon man, if you don't go out in the world and have some fun once in awhile, you may as well go hide in a bunker for life and not go experience the world. Honestly I understand what you mean, life is not to hide from everything because of fear. Sometimes we're supposed to enjoy life and don't live like there is danger anywhere waiting for us. But to be sincere self control is not something that everyone has naturally, for some people they do think they're in control until when the habit silently takes control of them.
