One thing about me is that I am always in a conscious state of mind whenever I want to deal with a platform that requires me to  deposit my money in it or to give in my personal details, if something is fishy, I'm quick to identify it because I pay more attention especially when it's money related, that's what has prevented me from actually falling victim for these scammers again after the previous experience. Before I start to use such platform fully, I will have to test it with small funds so that I can be sure everything is working fine.

Most times it’s greed that makes some folks to let their guard down, they’ll be willing to give up their personal details or even put in some amount of money in some things simply because of the promises of high returns, and that’s why it’s crucial for folks to learn how to completely eradicate greed as this gives us more clarity to think better and see things the way they are without allowing our emotions make decisions for us.

Eradicating greed is a very important as a gambler and that is what so many gamnlers had been facing without knowing that they needed to work on themselves while trying to make profits from gambling. Fraudsters are always active and they try to steal money from users by creating new strategies. Fraudsters always use some tricks to trap so that the common people see them and quickly put their money in that platform. The logo was a part of that strategy. In such a situation, it is more important to be careful than blaming the scammers. If the user had been careful before downloading the app, then he would not have faced any such situation. But the big problem is that users are getting cheated later when they download an app without making a distinction between what is good and what is bad or without doing sufficient analysis. Every user should download an app from a trusted source and also consider the reviews of that app.

Even if User Interface looked different in the scam application, sadly people would have still fallen for it, to be honest.
This kind of scams are effective because most people assume a big casino and ecosystem like Stake's is so widespread which makes completely sense for them to have an official application on the play store of Google.

People should know better, but sadly they have accustomed to have specific applications on the phone for all major services, so they extrapolate or traslate their experience with other services to stake and other casinos.

It's amazing that in our IT age, when AI is developed, Google has not come up with a bot that would find such applications and question them by sending an Alert to its moderators. Let him research the code, because it has long been known that AI is better at reviewing and writing code, which is why all the initial programmers lost their jobs. This is my sincere perplexity. And the strange thing is that Stake, having such power, cannot instantly block this application. In general, Google needs to be stricter about the moderation of such applications.

Maybe best if they verify it to real sources, because if they just download those apps and just trust on the logo they see there's huge instances that these people will fall on a fake apps.

The problem with google Playstore is their verification and regulation really sucks. For many times out there are are fake apps added and maybe people got compromise because they allow those apps to be added there. This is why its important to check carefully to spot the real and avoid those fakes, so they can avoid hacking problems.

With so many apps coming to them, it seems Google misses the unknown and suspicious apps so the apps get lists in the Playstore. But Google will checking all of the app in the list, if they finds something strange or suspicious inside the app, they will message to the dev to check and confirm if that is safe or if the dev need to removes and update.

Stake can send an email to Google related to these issues especially if they get a message from their members who download the app. This will bring attention to Google and they will check it immediately.

You might not believe but too many people become a victim of such scams. A 40+ years old person who has been barely in touch with the tech, will assume that if the app has a logo of the company where he gambles, it will be the official app of that company. That's where they make mistakes and that's why scammers make so many scams and earn so much money.

Why Google let it still stay in play store? Play store has always been full of scam and fake apps, there isn't a good moderation there. The promise of high return in casinos is not something that should convince someone to stake with the amount they can not afford to lose, it's lack of awareness that makes most people fall victim in situation like this, I don't completely agree that it's greed because there are many people who do not brother to check the authenticity of a website since they are not aware that a platform could have a copy that might look exactly like the original one. Since they don't have the awareness, they can trust the fake site by thinking it's the main website.

It is possible that the player is a newbie, they never knew the actual design of the casino.  Second, the player is not a good observer and too trusting, thinking that because the application came from the Play Store, it is legit.  And third, some players are not like you, who can determine the difference between the application file size, so some people have less technical knowledge to know the difference in the application.

Most people sound like without the knowledge that they have gathered over the years they would have just conquered the trap of this gambling scam but however if you were ignorant of the difference you would the same as the victims, google play stores is only concerned with helping apps get downloads so they can take their profit, whether you succeed with apps or you got scammed it’s not their responsibility.

Listing in those online stores is an automatic process just to check some security measures should be taken into consideration from the app devs and paying a listing fee. They are not supposed to check the integrity of the dev or to use the app. The only known method to get rid off those scam apps is to report them. Once many users report the fake app to the store either google or apple will delist it immediately.

I think it is the same problem with google ads in first research page. Some scammers succeed to promote their fake apps and scam schemes at top google first page search. This proves that the process is done automatically without a manual human check.

For our personal safety, we shouldn't trust any service that is offered by a third party platform, Google have n control over what kind of apps that ge listed sometimes, but for you to be at a safer State, is very ok for you to keep your downloads only from the official website of those casinos to avoid misleading apps getting into our device.

Yes, Stake casino has no app on the Play Store because that's impossible to do. Play Store doesn't accept casino apps but not many people know this. An average person who isn't in touch with the tech, doesn't know this, they simply type Stake in Play Store and expect that the first result is the official app (especially when Logo matches the Logo of a company they are looking for).

This topic of discussion has nothing to do with gambling at all in reality, you are just using an example from the gambling world when in reality this problem is widespread and affects many different industries simultaneously and in different intensities. Sometimes there are more fakes in one thing than in another, but the point remains the same. This topic is not about casino branding but instead about the politicizes of the Google Play store. What is the real lesson here? It is time to stop relying on your nanny and grow the fuck up, most adults are actually spoiled and dumb little children that want their nanny to solve their problems this way. Instead of relying on Google to police the fucking world, how about people get educated instead? If someone can be fooled by some stupid fake app like this one, then they are a hopeless case.

For each app that Google removes, many come back. People who fall for this, will fall for other crap because they are idiots. The problem with these cases is never with the scammers, it is only and I emphasize only an issue with the people. If people were not stupid, there would be very few scams and they would be only highly sophisticated ones. With a limited number of scams that work, it would be easier to filter out the highly sophisticated ones and each failure would come at a greater loss to the criminals.
