I have to test how is it with some load, so it is in testmode yet... You guys can try the faucet but no coins will be sent for a (hopefully short) while. If no major bug were found I can send the coins for the requests made during testmode, but there is no guarantee at all until the next announce. The address for donations is alright though and donations made to it will be used for the faucet as long as it lasts. If anyone want to donate/tip me, please send it to my address instead (it is in my profile). http://community.bitcoinland.org/Any comment or thought is welcome. Adriano faucet looks great!!!! sent you a tip and let me know when faucet is running and i will send more to it. thanks alot!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sorry to say this, but if you look at all the past messages, the dev seems only interested in getting this coin to an exchange like mintpal with our votes and then possibly dump all his shares+stakes.(plus bounty stakes if you entrust it with the dev.) Now hold on a moment. The only positive comment from the dev on exchanges was to ask people to vote for COMM on Mintpal. As you can see, it's been a great rally for the Community since. I remember the dev scolding us at least once about jumping the gun with respect to exchange listings. I remember that because I had a hand in getting COMM listed an AllCrypt and I wound up getting some flak for doing so. Not from the dev, but from other members of the Community. So I'd be the kind to remember the dev telling us to go slow re. exchange listings.

Dear Dev (Communitycoin),
Could you please address the issue of minting? It seems like everyone has their own explanation.
1a. Everyone calls it 'interest'. 2a. Some believe that you don't need to keep your wallet open, as long as it is unlocked. 3a. Others think that you will receive about the same amount every single day. 4a. And others again think that if you have a larger stake that you will automatically gain every time more 'interest'.
1b. I think that the use of the term interest injustified is, because you're actually keeping your wallet open (using your pc and some power) to verify transactions and keep the network secure. I prefer to call it a 'REWARD'. 2b. I don't believe this because why would you get rewarded by keeping your wallet closed? 3b. This also is untrue, because it depends on the amount of people who keeps their wallet open and how big their stake is. 4b. Again I think that you will only have MORE CHANCE to mint and NOT that you will automatically get GREATER rewards every time, because it totally depends on the fees accumulated in a certain block. This means that someone with a smaller stake may find a block with larger fees that somone with a bigger stake.
Can the dev of someone from the dev team please provide us with more info and is the way I understand it right or wrong? This is how I used to know how it works with Nxt. It is important to know how the coin works otherwise it is harder to promote is everyone comes with different explanations.
Thanks, Samy
How many comm did you get for running ur wallet for ongoing 12 H After aprox. 1 day I received my first stake of 1320. 1,5 days later 496, and now I'm even waiting longer and still nothing. What about others here? How much did you get and how long did you have to wait for the minting? Minting happens on chance, much like mining. (BTW your first stake was probably all 1 million coins the 2nd stake was probably much less, 250k?) There's no set time where you can expect to stake, and this is also why you will see variance on how much you get when you *do* stake. Basically your coins become eligible to stake after 24 hours, starting then, you begin to accumulate "weight" on that stack of coins, this is a number that keeps growing as time goes by *without* you being selected to stake, and as your weight increases, you become more likely to be included in a block for payment of stake. The amount you receive is adjusted based on the time you waited - so if you wait longer than average, you get a bigger stake than average. In some other PoS coin wallets, they have an extra icon in the bottom right next to the connections that shows you your weight and the network weight, and an ETA for next stake - unfortunately the COMM wallet does not have this feature, which would be a wonderful addition. (See BlackCoin's wallet for an example of what I mean.) - You do need your wallet open and available to the network *to be able to stake* - you DO NOT need your wallet open and connected to *pass the 24 hours so coins will be eligible to stake*. So, when you first got your million, you could've left the wallet closed all day, and that stack of coins is still counting down it's 24 hour timer to be able to stake. BUT - to actually allow the coins to BE staked, they must be available to the network with an open, unlocked wallet. - Reward varies based on weight and time it took to stake, but on average, yes, it is essentially the same per day. ON AVERAGE. People forget this is a system of average performance, do not stake for 1 or 2 days and decide you've got a good grasp on what average performance is. Judge it on a week, a month, etc. You'll see it pans out to expected performance over time, which is how everything in crypto works! - Having more coins will increase the frequency of your stakes, but unless you have a really really small amount, the average stake gains over time will be the same. If you only have 100 COMM in a wallet though, the problem becomes you might need to wait 10 years to see performance average out, with a million, you have stakes happening so often that it averages out much quicker. It's all a game of chance and averages - if you're trying to stake 1 million out of a billion coins, that's one tenth of 1 percent of the entire network (0.1%) If you're staking 1,000 COMM, that's only 0.0001% of the network - and since blocks always grab a certain amount of coins, it just becomes a situation where your 1,000 COMM has much less chance of being grabbed than some in the 1 Mil stack. But in the end, both would stake the same percentage on average - it just will take the smaller stack a lot longer probably to see the averages work out. Much of this confusion is because people do not actually read anything about Proof-of-Stake before investing in it. All of this information is the same for every PoS coin, and the specifications are available easily to understand how this works. They may have different time frames and percentages, but the mechanism is always the same. People are just lazy and comfortable being confused. Thanks for your contribution to COMM Community and hope to see that feature soon in our COMM Wallet

I have set the faucet to allow one request per hour due to your donation (it was one per 24 hours before). The amount is still random between 1 and 5 COMM but I will probably change it as soon as I figure out the demand for it. Now it would be good to advertise it in the OP so the newbies who didn't get a share will have an option to receive some coins. Regards, Adriano

friendly reminder, Dumping comm and encourage others to do so (at delivery stage) and asking people to use exchanges (so kill community spirit) it or using more than one account to request comm or attacking the comm coin is not helping anyone. That's why we have blacklist and group discipline. As a dev i am part of this group and just abiding these simple rules.

It's great you give a good response to the community. Someone is happy, someone is sad. But I think if you give a good response and have a good communication with the community, any problem can be solved well. I am glad that the coin goes in its way. I wanna apply a stake for me. I wanna promote the great coin with the whole community. Let's make COMM be a real valuable coin.

It's not my problem. It's the bastard dev's.
Welcome to my Ignore List! Well done. You are in your master's whitelist. You will be rewarded surely another stake in the 2nd round. obedient doggy. Look HTC123, i was frustrated aswell. But acting like that won't do anything, it will only make things worse. Send a pm to communitycoin, if he finds the time he will answer. Altho it would surprise me if he would give his time after you have been spamming the thread. BTW to ignore: under the trust link of the person you want to ignore there is an ignore button. I've sent him a PM and been very polite in this thread, plus contributing where I can (voting on Mintpal). I fit all the requirements also. Not really sure why I've been rejected, so for this coin to be labeled "fair" seems strange to me when there is zero transparency when it comes to the initial stakes and applications. BTW, I applied on April 3rd, one day after the initial release. Wouldn't you want someone who is actively reading the thread and participating to be part of your coin? Oh well. Maybe the Dev will read my PM or read this thread, but it's incredibly frustrating to have no idea what is happening behind the scenes and makes it very hard to support a coin that has no transparency. Obviously going to spread this frustration via word of mouth to any other miners I know and most likely dissuade them from supporting the coin.
