I was thinking basically about how we discuss the behaviors of gamblers how they lost a huge sum of money or how they kept on playing without considering the side effects of their actions and the it struck my mind that they must have something in their minds that would trigger them to make those decisions and then I realized that it's "Confidence".
The reason why we treat some bets differently from other isn't because we just want to loss big or expose ourselves to too much risk, it's a matter of confidence that we have toward something( the odds, desperation of the team, players available....) and most of our gambling decisions is based on some level of confidence, if it's something you're unsure of you are likely going to skip the game at the selection stage before it gets to your bet or place small stake on the bet.

However since we now know the importance of our confidence towards our bets how then can we use it to our advantage?
I'll start by saying nothing is certain in gambling even a big team or favorite team in their best form can still lose to an underdog by performing poorly on that match. So that would mean our confidence level should drop to 50% irrespective of the kind of teams playing. But as humans we likely wouldn't treat every game desame way probably because of the stat and desperation of the teams playing, irrespective of how informed any team is, your confidence level shouldn't exceed 60% because the greatest factor of luck still stands.

Honestly, gambling with the mindset of doubling your money overnight should be the last thing a gambler would ever thanks about, because at end of the day it will still result in more losses.

I find this convincing, normally we select an bet on a game because we had confident about the outcome of that game, if there was no slight confidence or hope of a game bringing positive result, then it will be difficult for the person to bet on such game,  although one might just follow their intuition in some situations where they strongly doubt the game's outcomes but because they are convinced in their spirit to bet on the game, they will do so and sometimes they end up winning or losing the game. People that stake with a huge amount that they can't afford to lose because of the confidence they have on a game are the ones that keeps twisting things up for themselves because if the game doesn't go as thought, it becomes a big slap on their face.

That's why I get surprised when people say gambling isn't a game of luck. How then do you explain the difference in certainty of the games. Gambling is a game that deals with probability. We can never be sure which game would be a winner or a loser. We can't tell which game would be the biggest mistake or the biggest win we will make for the next long period of time. But what keeps you long enough in the game is your ability to understand why you are playing and stay disciplined. Some people gamble without having a plan. That why they end up losing so much money and still not win a penny. They get angry and suddenly blame the casino for cheating them. They are forgetting that gambling has always been a game of luck and they simply were just unlucky..

I agree because there should be a balance mix in your confidence, confident enough to make a bet and not too over confident that it goes goes badly. When a gambler is over confident, they become more possible to forget or ignore some details in their front, and it is in some of these details, that you may be able to make a better decision.
When a gambler lacks confidence too, they will ignore their gut feeling and instincts which is sometimes necessary to win well.

Having confidence in our self isn't a bad idea but can be very misleading to some point if measures aren't taken. In the sense that gamble as a game isn't guaranteed it's just a thing of chance. But when one is over confidence of himself, it can make him to start taking some decisions that is not sure of and that can lead to lost. Furthermore, having confidence in ourself while gambling isn't completely a bad thing but were comes the problem and could place you in higher risk of losing funds is when you allow over confidence and over hyping blind you from the real fact.

I have see greater teams lose to the smaller one, I have experience sure banger turns into real disappointment, it is just not certain and the best you can do not to get drained is to aways pay close attention to every single game before choosing, because despite your confidence in a particular team the reverse can still be the case.

For me, I really do not like the idea of confidence in gambling, honestly, if you’re simply just having fun then what exactly do you need confidence for? The problem with confidence is that you never just know when the scales will tilt from just confidence to overconfidence. And how exactly would you know what you’re seeing as confidence isn’t actually overconfidence? Having a particular level of confidence can really be detrimental to a gambler as this can gradually increase and charge up your expectations seems you’ve become quite confident in your skills, and this here is the fastest way to lose your cool and engage in loss chasing.

For me, confidence plays no role here in winning games. You build confidence, they win or lose, even when you have no confidence, they win and win very well and comfortably. So there is nothing to any of them. I wouldn't even be grading our confidence to any percentage, because nothing works. Gambling is risk, and we must just be ready to accept it, either win or lose.. gamble with what we can afford to lose, and stay relaxed.. nothing as expectations if you want to be safe

Winning first and side effects later, by the way if I win all the pass losses doesn't matter anymore, this is how many gamblers think and that's why they don't stop even when all trial after trail keeps ending up in failure.

Call me an idiot but fear would do you or anyone more good than harm as a gambler, your fear could keep you in check all the time, you will always remember to play safe, but confidence? You can doing stupid things with full confidence.

Where you play your confidence is far more important, gambling doesn't need you to be confidence before you become a winner or a loser, it doesn't care, luck comes and go like a thief in the night.

That’s quite a solid point you made there. I’m also of the opinion that a gambler’s confidence plays a crucial role in their decision making. But gamblers should always be on the lookout and always approach gambling with realistic expectations so as not to turn their confidence into overconfidence because this can literally make a gambler to ignore the risks involved and go ahead to increase their stakes emotionally.

Gambling is always dependent on luck. In sports betting , most of the time, if we can analyze the data correctly, the chances of winning  increase if we are experienced enough. But even then it is completely dependent on luck. We have seen  many times that the hot favorite team lost points against an underdog team. This is nothing  new. We have to accept these and gamble.
