Confidence is a universal trait, if you are confident in any line of work you do, the results always speaks for itself and as a gambler I like to think it helps in decision making which as we all know is very important when it comes to gambling. I can remember my days of sporty bet and how I lost money because of indecisions. Confidence is a trait everyone should possess tho, I me, don't get me wrong, confidence doesn't automatically mean right but then if you believe and project it forward, it just might be true,.

Confidence is good in every field but excessive confidence is not good in anything. In any field, if you work with confidence, you can be successful, but in the case of gambling, you need not only to have confidence, but also to have your own patience. When you bet on a team while gambling, if you have confidence, you will win, but if you bet without considering the aspects of the players and are confident, you will never win. Rather, if you bet on a team, then if you recharge on that team and bet according to the performance of the players, then you will have the confidence to win. It is true that working with confidence is important in every field but not in all fields, I think that confidence does not help much in the case of gambling, rather experience and knowledge are needed a lot.

Actually, confidence level definitely matters because logical confidence issues mainly come based on analysis, such as whether a team is an underdog team or a strong team. These can only be said based on analysis. And after all this, a bettor basically gets the confidence to stake. So I think confidence is definitely needed in gambling, especially in sports betting.

However, I would also like to mention that confidence is good, but overconfidence can lead us into the opposite trap, because in the case of overconfidence, we often end up staking beyond our ability to lose, and later the loss weakens us financially. So we have to keep this in mind so that we don't become overconfident when it comes to betting.
Of course, overconfidence can often prove very costly for a player, as they'll pay large sums to prove themselves right, but ultimately, the game will reveal the player's true position. Often, the outcome will be a lost bankroll, although it's worth noting that sometimes luck can smile on a player and they'll win more, but this isn't common. I believe confidence should be somewhere in the middle, allowing for doubt at the right moments and preventing them from losing more than they otherwise could.

Exactly, you need to have a little self-confidence but not overdo it, because excessive confidence makes you blind and also presumptuous and arrogant.
And the roads to hell are paved by the arrogant presumptuous people who feel they are better.

That's right, and another reason why self-confidence should not be excessive is because it will only increase a gambler's disappointment when the results are not as expected, because when self-confidence is high, expectations will also be high, and when the results turn out to be the opposite, of course the feeling of disappointment will be even greater, therefore, being neutral in betting is much better in my opinion.

I tried using the BitList tool to search if there had been any previous same topic but couldn't find any pardon me if I'm wrong.

I was thinking basically about how we discuss the behaviors of gamblers how they lost a huge sum of money or how they kept on playing without considering the side effects of their actions and the it struck my mind that they must have something in their minds that would trigger them to make those decisions and then I realized that it's "Confidence".
The reason why we treat some bets differently from other isn't because we just want to loss big or expose ourselves to too much risk, it's a matter of confidence that we have toward something( the odds, desperation of the team, players available....) and most of our gambling decisions is based on some level of confidence, if it's something you're unsure of you are likely going to skip the game at the selection stage before it gets to your bet or place small stake on the bet.

However since we now know the importance of our confidence towards our bets how then can we use it to our advantage?
I'll start by saying nothing is certain in gambling even a big team or favorite team in their best form can still lose to an underdog by performing poorly on that match. So that would mean our confidence level should drop to 50% irrespective of the kind of teams playing. But as humans we likely wouldn't treat every game desame way probably because of the stat and desperation of the teams playing, irrespective of how informed any team is, your confidence level shouldn't exceed 60% because the greatest factor of luck still stands.

Basically excess of everything is bad and it applies in gambling too. Yes, one has to be confident over the games he or she has staked but that doesn't mean he will be too overconfident because winning is never guaranteed when it comes to gambling, even as we understand that whenever we book or make a bet you must have that positive mindset that you are going to win but being too confident can also be depressive especially when you have place all your hopes on a particular game and you lost it at the end of the day and you are fill with regrets.

Desperation is one of the factors that leads to over confidence and once you become overconfident you are bound to making wrong team selections and series of mistakes because you believe solely on your confidence and won't want to take your time to do a proper analysis before staking the game of your choice. Confidence is needed while gambling but we shouldn't be overconfident so we don't get excited and make wrong predictions.

Winning or losing is part of gambling. It is normal for us to have confidence in a team but nothing in excess is good. It is not possible to give an exact confirm about the outcome of a match through long-term experience or research because the future is uncertain and there is no confirm that the result will be as expected at the end of the day. Therefore it is better to gamble with the mentality that either winning or losing can happen through gambling, as a result of which you can gamble while maintaining your emotions and self-control and reduce the amount of losses.
