how big is your ignore list?

as the profile page ignore list for people with large ignore lists works again since some months ago im wondering how big some folks lists are compared to mine.

forum wont show the count just copy/paste the list into your favorite editor/spreadsheet to find out the line count.

so mine is ~1200

I do not know how want to ignore people on this forum, all I can do is not to read the person's post if he is spamming. Another reason that I think people can put someone on ignore list is if they are arguing, I prefer not to put the person on ignore list. Admittedly, some people are really worth to be ignored.

It could be longer, but sometimes, if you don't mind getting into arguments, it's better not to ignore people and call out the nonsense some people write. If you ignore them they can quote you, act smart, use straw man arguments, etc.

It's unlike you "don't know how to ignore people" but it's likely you don't feel comfortable by ignoring people on this forum. Clicking on Ignore for ignoring a forum user is very easy and it can be done by anyone. It can be a little bit more tricky to ignore a forum user with settings in account profile with "Ignore User Settings" but likely not many forum members use this page for ignoring other users. This setting page is more helpful for wiping out your ignore list.

If you look closely under the avatar of a user you can see there is a Ignore link. Of course you just need to click that

As for me I do not have anyone being ignored because I want skip bad posts fast. Only if it's a full spam of crazy words I would ignore someone

I voted 1-10 for some reason and then I checked the actual ignore list of mine and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was 390 names. Hell, I don’t remember when did I put so many names on ignore but since the overall forum experience seems to be fine, I guess I did nothing wrong. I also wrote a script a while back to delete the full presence of the ignored users from the view but that was before ai as far as I remember so I guess I need to update that script too… I mean, if you are ignoring a user, why even see his/her name & empty posts? Doesnt make sense to me. Total obliteration is needed.

I know how to ignore people and I know how to check the users on my ignore list. There are times that I will click on my profile -> ignore user options just to check if there is anyone that I mistakenly put on my ignore list. I also still check it before I posted on this thread. I have edited my post to make it clearer to understand.

My list includes between 101 and 1000. They aren't all bad, but they won't get any merit from my account.

Checked mine and there are no more than 5, Don't remember how long they've been there, I think they're all just shillers when new exchanges hire them and flood crypto forums with low rewards 3 years ago.

Mine has fewer than ten users. In general, I’m quite tolerant of other people’s thoughts, even when they contradict my own, so I usually add someone to the list only if they either use offensive language toward me instead of engaging in a proper discussion, and/or if they repeatedly spread glaring falsehoods ^{mainly political ones} here on the forum.

I'm always willing to give a second chance, so I only have maybe 30 members on my list. And maybe I don't go too much into the so-called spamfest part of the forum, so maybe that's why the list isn't too big.
I'm too old to deal with trolls here, everyone on my list is too boring for any discussion.

thats why mine is so big, copy/pasting others lists back in the day.

if theyre good then seeing others quoting that person i will eventually see enough to warrant unignoring them. and that does happen many were removed over the years.

Sometimes I just noticed I can't see a user's post, only the unignore button and that's how I find out that I mistakenly ignored a certain user. And I instantly I remove them from my ignore list.

I guess you talked about these topics in the past about "sharing ingore list" and "clean up ignore list". In some special events, trusted members sometimes do their clean up and give spammers a second chance.

I think at some point I did probably have users in the list, but decided to remove them. This would be years ago if that's the case though.

dunno how you do it man

and when i made the initial poll i didnt even have a zero option as not having at least somebody on ignore never entered my mind.. i had to edit the poll and shift every option down to put "0" at the top instead of the bottom of the list when i edited it lol
