War is paid for by ordinary people anyway, either in money with higher taxes or in lives on the front.
It is fascinating how the Western hypocrites become concerned about "ordinary people's lives" only when it is their side and their interests.

If you look through this same user's post history, he was celebrating the terrorist attacks carried out by NATO against Iran 7 months ago and wasn't worried about "ordinary people's lives" back then. In fact he was talking about "capitulation" and "return to the Stone Age" while their extremely weak and pathetic military was only capable of targeting civilians like bombing elementary schools, gyms, homes and hospitals in Iran; while the untouched Iran's military carried out devastating retaliatory strikes that obliterated majority of NATO forces across West Asia.

So of course ordinary people are paying the cost of war, but this a cost imposed on them by the terrorist organization known as NATO that has slaughtered over 35 million civilians ever since WW2 and has destroyed a dozen countries.

It is fascinating how the Western hypocrites become concerned about "ordinary people's lives" only when it is their side and their interests.
There is a local proverb in my country that states: "When the corpse of another person is carried along the road, it looks like a bundle of firewood to bystanders". Until people understand that every life is precious, we will keep having wars. That child who was killed is a darling to her parents and a joy to her family. That man is a loving father and husband and a provider to many people.

In my place of worship, I have stopped praying for countries that instigate war and intentionally kill civilians, even when the preacher calls for prayers. Nobody's life is more important or precious than others.

The winners in this crazy war between Ukraine and Russia are only the leaders whom this war has perpetuated them in power using the scarce resources of these countries in waging the wars while the putting the lives of the people in daily dangers and unrest.

See how plumpy looking Zelensky and Putin that are leaders of this two countries are looking when they appear on TV, when their people are losing weight and living in fears for years since 2022.
~snip~

You can't put the president of a country that is defending itself in the same category as that barbarian who is waging war over territory in the 21st century. It seems that many people are influenced by American politics, which blames both sides for the war, but recently has increasingly shifted the blame for the war to Ukraine.
Some Russians will tell you their president is doing same, defending Russia. America holds an important position in world politics and it is common that they make that much influence on people and countries, but certainly not me and my thoughts getting influenced, specially for other actions I know them for.

Ukraine defends its country in all possible ways and this exhausts it economically, but Russia has much greater resources and does not show that it cares about its people at all, which is the biggest difference in this war. Putler and his friends have accumulated trillions of dollars in their pockets and they don't care if the war will end today or if it will last for another 10 years.
The resources yes, Russia has it, and this may be, this should have made Zelensky act in wisdom earlier when the war has not escalated worse. But I see it now he is been abandoned and sorted to be blamed for by the very powers that made him believe he was strong efficient to win the war.

My desire is just an end to all this reckless wars in world. I wish.

War is paid for by ordinary people anyway, either in money with higher taxes or in lives on the front.
War has never favoured ordinary men. Which is why it has to come to an end that no one has to pay what-so-ever further.

For Putin, continuing the war or ending it with the current outcome are equally disadvantageous and threaten him with not only political but also physical elimination. He doesn't know what to do. After all, the people will then ask why more than a million Russians were lost in it.

I don't like war but when it happens I knew there are many things underground that's causing the war that we don't know about or the media doesn't tell us. I believe we're all civilize individualdls and the war can be resolved but these guys (those benefitting) are intentionally not wanting the war to end  because it benefits them.

Russia is bleeding but they won't want to end the war as losers (Putin precisely), Ukraine has also been affected and rebuilding is going to cost them alot which I believe they'll also want to end this war but what's stopping both nation's is the western power influence on the war.

Russia is going to get support and the war will continue if it doesn't get settled, this is how many years already and the war is still ongoing but when it started, we all thought it won't last this long. The right thing to do is for both country to come together and make peace instead of looking at who's losing or winning because extra forcea/help will always come ftom other countries and this prolong the whole situation.

The right thing to do is for both country to come together and make peace instead of looking at who's losing or winning because extra forcea/help will always come ftom other countries and this prolong the whole situation.

Russia is already getting support from its allies. Mainly, China and Iran. China supplies the weapons, while Iran supplies the drones. In this recent US-Iran fiasco, Russia provided Iran with intelligence on the location of US assets. This shows both countries are helping one another. In Russia's latest attempt to bypass sanctions, it began "legalizing" crypto usage and trade. Trump's "Diesel Deal" will add more fuel to the fire. If the situation between Russia and Ukraine prolongs itself, Russia would most likely emerge as the winner. Assuming, the West fails to support Ukraine.

Right now, we're seeing the US distancing itself from Ukraine under Trump's tenure. I don't think Europe has the guts or the capacity to support Ukraine alone. It will simply fail. But hey, life's full of surprises. Either way, there's no denying the negative impact the war has had on both sides. A permanent end to it is the solution. Same goes for the US and Iran. With worldwide peace, comes long-lasting economic prosperity.

Until people understand that every life is precious, we will keep having wars.
I'm sure everyone understands that well enough and that includes the user I quoted (@Lucius). The fact that he is saying what he was saying about Ukraine proves that. The problem is their rulers who have had a tight control on the media and the information that their people receive for as long as media has existed and through that they control and dictate the way their people think.

So for example when I read @Lucius posts about Iran, I'm not reading his words! I am reading words put in his mouth by Western Propaganda Machine. It is crystal clear too if you know what to look for and are familiar with the situation. The first thing is to know terminology and the timing. Let me analyze a little since it is an educating thing useful for the future reference since the behavior is repeating:

[2026-02-19]
(1) "regime that kills thousands of its own people and throws as many more into prison just because they protest in the streets."
- Use of term "regime" for Iranian government which is Western propaganda language used for any country they want to attack.
- Clear pre-aggression propaganda to dehumanize the people that NATO is about to murder (the lie about a "regime" that kills its own people)
Now check out his post history for the past month or so. Nary a word on MASSIVE protests across Europe, tens of thousands of arrests, wounded people, maimed people who lost limbs and were blinded, killed people who were shot by the European regimes. Does he not care about those? I'd like to believe he does. It's just that the Western propaganda machine that tightly controls most people's brains doesn't allow them to think about the oppression back home. The only thing I could find in his post history was blaming immigrants which is another clear example of Western Propaganda.

(2) "a military armada like no other has been seen in a very long time"
- Clear use of term "armada" which was Washington's propaganda language during the pre-aggression psychological warfare.
You will not see him talk about this so called "armada" after 2026-02-28 though since the pathetic US Navy fled deep into the Indian ocean over 1000 km away from Iran's borders and the only time they got close their carrier group was hit so hard that its aircraft carrier (The USS Gerald Ford which they claim is the "most advanced and expensive carrier in the world") was easily hit with missiles where 25 aircrafts on deck were obliterated instantly and at least 2 dozen US marines on board were eliminated and it burnt for 30+ hours afterwards.
Does he mention the pathetic US navy after that? No. Simply because the Western propaganda machine didn't want them to know and it was never in the news any longer. Therefore the "parrots" don't talk about it either.

[2026-02-20]
"The firepower that has already arrived in the region and that is still arriving indicates that an attack similar to the one that occurred in Iraq in the past will occur. Analysts say that the US has not gathered such firepower in one place for more than 20 years, and that speaks for itself."
- US regime's clear propaganda that was too laughable for anybody with half a brain. In attacking Iraq the regime had a coalition of over 50 countries with hundreds of thousands of troops (2.5 million in total) and Iraq was disarmed already.
- For the terrorist attacks on Iran the regime barely had a couple of thousands and most of them were technicians, maintenance guys and Iran is a superpower with 90 million population and over a million servicemembers (30+ million signed up for FanFadaa to defend the homeland after the NATO aggression).

[2026-03-01]
"In a week, Iran will return to the Stone Age because all they will be able to do is throw stones."
- This was second day's propaganda (they started on Feb 28th) where the US regime still thought they could "finish" Iran in 3 days and wanted to start a carpet bombing.
- You don't see him mention this any more since the propaganda stopped that after Iran retaliated by destroying loads of US economic infrastructure across the region (eg. the Amazon data centers) in retaliation and the US regime realized they can be bombed back to stone age too...

[2026-03-09]
"it is only a matter of time before it agrees to complete capitulation"
- Clear use of term "capitulation" which screams US regime's desperation actually. Since by first week, their defeat had become palpable and they still thought Iranians would overthrow their own government for American terrorists! The parrots repeated that term on the internet just because the propaganda machine was saying it!

The following is the best example and the most important educational moment about propaganda is in this quote.
[2026-03-19]
"The problem is not that the US as the world's leading military power, could not have done much more to force Iran to surrender - the problem is that the most capable politicians and military personnel have been replaced with those who are at least two levels below them."
- Clear Western Propaganda where they try to convince their audience that the weakest and most corrupt and most expensive armed forces in the world is actually strong. And when it fails miserably they start justifying it like this so that their subjects don't ask "why is US military so weak and pathetic and why is $1.5 trillion of my tax money being wasted on it"!
- Another important thing to point out here (which is a teaching moment) is what "brainwashing" does to people. Remember the same person was talking about this so called scary and very powerful "armada" that would make Iran "capitulate" and go "back to stone age". See how quickly they forgot that? That's the effect of a severe brainwashing campaign by the Western Propaganda Machine which is a billion dollar budget operation that has been working for decades. At this point he is being bombarded by loads of new propaganda that takes away his ability to think about what he had said not so long ago!
- People like him don't ask themselves why they weren't saying these things just a couple of weeks before! Those military personnel has have been replaced on 2026-02-20 too and the regime's Minister of War was the same TV moron back then as well. It's not like these things happened all of a sudden on [2026-03-19] that brought about United States total and strategic defeat. They have had happened a long time before that.

There are more cases but I think the point is clear enough and those who want to learn, will learn to stop following the Brainwashing Propaganda Machine of the Western Regimes and start seeking alternative media and start thinking for themselves instead of being parrots.

Let me finish this long post with something funny about the pathetic nature of the US military since it came up.
Over 20 years ago when Bush was installed in office and US economy was actually good and they weren't so isolated as they are today, the regime ordered invasion and destruction of 7 countries in 5 years. One of them was Iran. They ran the largest and most expensive military exercise in human history that cost the equivalent of half a billion dollars to train for it. They called it The Millennium Challenge! LOL
According to the declassified information that pentagon published and if you know anything about Iran's military capabilities, you can see that the simulated Iran was a joke with maybe 10% of Iran's actual strength.
Guess what was the result of their exercise that involved over 13,000 troops and wasted $500 million? Iran's defeat? US defeat? ... drum roll please... the result was US being crushed. Not just defeated but obliterated in their own simulation. Cheesy
Then they changed the parameters of the war and weakened the simulated Iran. Result? The same. LOL
They changed the parameters multiple times and continued for days and days but the result was a complete and total defeat of United States.
It is said that Marine Corps Lieutenant General Paul K. Van Riper who was the commander leading this exercise kicked the desk over and abandoned the project completely after realizing how perthitic the US military is.
So yeah, the reality is very different from what the propaganda machines tell us:
2015 Iran arrests US marines who literally piss their pants and start crying like little girls

2026 Iran obliterates regime's attempt to enter Iranian soil to rescue its arrested pilot (high ranking commander) and the US regime's so called "special forces" are annihilated so much so that they flee by leaving their panties behind (literally) and take their dozens of deads and run away!

Technically speaking, Russia will be the winners in the sense that they will have what they want. The entire reason for the war was the block that they wanted to put between them; the NATO and EU talks, and Donetsk and Luhansk or whatever those names are written, were the reason this actually exists.

So considering they already captured those places, and are already very well established there and not giving it up any time soon, I would say that's a win. They never wanted to occupy entire Ukraine; they never had that request. The war is only going on because Ukraine wants to get those places back; if Ukraine agreed to cede those places to Russia, it would end today. But why would Ukraine give up land? That's why the war is still going on.

You are valid on this, as it reflects mostly the economic situation of the war in-relation to Russia. Putin had bragged many times that Ukraine would be captured by his country within 2 weeks. But his 2 weeks has spanned 4 years and 8 months, and still counting.

That clown and wicked soul called Putin has been disgraced beyond measure, above other things, and has dragged his country's economy and financial capability into the mould.

Putin doesn't give a damn about common people or their economic well-being. he is concerned only with his own ambitions and the fortune of his inner circle of oligarchs because if they were to lose all their money, he would face the same fate as certain Russian tsars who were killed by their own inner circles. instead of developing his own country, he chooses to destroy a neighboring one and unfortunately he still has the resources to do so. USA represented by Trump has now sided more with Russia. probably the Kremlin has some compromising material on Trump that would explain why he is working so diligently to save buddy Putin and his country from economic collapse.

I believe there is no economic gains on both countries. There are areas in Russia and Ukraine where schools are closed, companies are shutdown, all of this are all backwardness to economic development.
Agreed, ordinary people are the ones who are paying the highest prices for the war, whereas political leaders are not even affected by it. Both countries have lost huge number of lives and resources and suffered huge loss in their economic development. The money they are spending on weapon and war could have been used in better places like infrastructure, health care and education. Not only are the leaders the winners; Russia has lost economically. There are so many industries who get benefit and get profit during war specially the ones that supply equipment and weapons but that does not justify that country as a whole is getting benefit. Russia has their own economic resources likewise, Ukraine is getting international support and still resisting while taking enormous damage.

So does Zelenskyy really care about and love his own people, then?

This war would never have happened if Ukraine hadn't been so naive, falling for the West's sweet talk pushing to join NATO and becoming their proxy battleground against Russia.

USA represented by Trump has now sided more with Russia. probably the Kremlin has some compromising material on Trump that would explain why he is working so diligently to save buddy Putin and his country from economic collapse.

Come on, man, give the conspiracy theories a rest. That's just how politics works. There are no permanent enemies, only permanent interests. Only fools trust promises from the great powers and end up as pawns on their political chessboard.

Having all the power in the world and still avoiding wars doesn't mean you are weak, this is what I have to say to Putin, he should have left Ukraine be and even let them run their mouth, everyone knows how mighty Russia is and I know that Ukraine can never defeat Russia.

When war begins, the common people are the ones who always suffer for it, I wish there is a way that common people can avoid this war completely and let the soldiers face themselves.

As for the president of Ukraine, a big shame on him for letting it rain on his country without looking at the faces of every children in Ukraine, this war could be avoided but instead, two very stubborn men happened to be leading two countries and facing eachother.

I couldn’t even imagine that things would come to such an absurd point and that Putin would ask Trump for help. Truly a great geostrategist who doesn’t understand many things. He’s just as dumb as Trump himself. They’ve found each other. Both are striving to hold unlimited power for many years to come, but the situation paints a very different picture. Neither of them can find a way out of a predicament that’s getting worse by the day. Two political morons who’ve flushed their lives down the toilet. Now all they care about is their own survival—not just in the political arena, but in the real world as well.

I don't think painting the scenario to look like Ukraine has everything to gain and nothing to lose is a very good way to look at this war, sure it's not what Russia hoped for when they invaded/attacked Ukraine but if at the end of the war they get to keep all of the territory they've annexed so far then in the long run it will ultimately be a win for them, plus y'all are making it look like Ukraine is single-handedly beating Russia without really pointing out all the help and assistance they've been getting from other nations to the point where they are even able to attack from these other countries but at the end of the day they lost around 1/3 of their territory and there is no way Russia is just going to let them take it back at the end of this war because you can make it look like Russia is losing all you want but the truth is that Ukraine isn't in a good place either.

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, but Today is a gift, That is why it is called PRESENT!!!

Only those completely uninformed about Russia’s attack on Ukraine could believe that Putin’s objectives were limited to specific regions rather than the entirety of Ukraine.

In late 2013, when Ukraine’s pro-Russian president, Viktor Yanukovych, abandoned the path toward joining the European Union, the public took to the streets in central Kyiv to protest. Acting on Putin’s advice, Yanukovych chose to suppress the protests with bloodshed, deploying snipers against unarmed civilians. Using live ammunition, they killed over a hundred protesters—a group later remembered in Ukraine as the "Heavenly Hundred." These events triggered an armed popular uprising. When one of the protesters publicly announced that his unit would storm the presidential building the following morning, Yanukovych fled to Russia that very evening—taking with him truckloads of gold and cash—and has remained there to this day.

Taking advantage of the situation—with the commander-in-chief having fled, Russian spies embedded in key positions, and Ukraine entirely unprepared for war—Putin seized the Crimean Peninsula in February 2014, followed by parts of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in April. Ukraine’s lack of readiness stemmed from the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, under which—at the insistence of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia—Ukraine had relinquished the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal, transferring its nuclear weapons, strategic bombers, and other offensive military hardware to Russia. In exchange, these nations had pledged not only to refrain from attacking Ukraine but also to defend it. Yet, when the invasion occurred, the United States and European nations not only failed to exert pressure on Russia but even advised Kyiv against offering any resistance. Seeing that he could act with impunity, Putin went further; on February 24, 2022, under the guise of military exercises, he launched an assault on Ukraine from multiple directions—including from Belarus—deploying:
- approximately 190,000 soldiers;
- about 2,800–3,000 tanks, consisting of the latest variants of the T-72, T-80, and T-90;
- around 5,000–7,000 armored combat vehicles;
- approximately 1,600–2,000 units of tube and rocket artillery;
- about 330 combat aircraft and roughly 240 helicopters (including Mi-28 and Ka-52 attack helicopters, as well as Mi-8 transport helicopters);
- and approximately 40 warships and submarines from the Black Sea Fleet.

In the initial weeks of the invasion, columns stretching for many kilometers—comprising over 10,000 wheeled and tracked vehicles, including engineering equipment, mobile air-defense systems, fuel tankers, and supply trucks—entered Ukrainian territory. On the day of the attack, Russian commanders were tasked with reaching Kyiv by 10:00 a.m. The Russian leadership assumed that such a formidable invasion force would face little significant resistance, and that any isolated pockets of opposition could be handled by police units. Consequently, many troops even brought their dress uniforms, intended for a victory parade in Kyiv’s central square.

Given these circumstances, can anyone seriously argue that Russia did not intend to seize Kyiv and the entirety of Ukraine? 30-kilometer-long columns of Russian military equipment were met with the destruction of bridges and dams; once these columns came to a halt, the Ukrainian army unleashed targeted fire upon them from every available weapon. Meanwhile, Ukrainian civilians used Molotov cocktails to set the military hardware ablaze. In Kyiv alone, during the very first days—starting on the evening of February 24—approximately 25,000 assault rifles (mostly Kalashnikovs), along with some 10 million rounds of ammunition, anti-tank grenade launchers, and hand grenades, were distributed via a highly simplified procedure to those who volunteered to join the Territorial Defense forces.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia has, to date, suffered the following losses:
- approximately 1,578,450 personnel (including 1,850 in the last 24 hours),
- 12,447 tanks,
- 25,605 armored combat vehicles,
- 51,614 artillery systems,
- 2,237 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS),
- 1,725 air defense systems,
- 3,017 ground-based robotic systems,
- 580,802 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs),
- 166,918 motor vehicles and fuel tankers,
- and 4,856 units of specialized equipment.

During the invasion of Afghanistan and the two Chechen wars—which previously represented Russia’s most significant losses since World War II—the total number of Russian soldiers killed was approximately 26,000 to 29,000. In the war against Ukraine, Russia is losing about 2,000 soldiers every single day. Is it worth it?

I really don't see a superpower like Russia suffering a military defeat at any point later on unless another superpower intervened which we all know would never happen since that could potentially trigger World War 3 which almost no one wants.

They have definitely lost in an economic sense, but so has Ukraine sadly. Putin and Trump are trying to cover each other's asses these days which goes to show how desperate both are for various reasons. Just feel sad for all the innocents getting screwed continously.

I think he only care about his pride and as result, their people is been the one carrying the heavy consequences of this war.

And look at US now, it seems that they are negotiating with Russia. US always do this on many countries and they use the conflict as leverage to strengthen up more their powers.

If leaders stop listening on manipulative talks of the West, maybe they can avoid this war and live peacefully. But guess shit happens and look at the situation now, US tried to became a hero of this war then act as their negotiator.

Economic hurt does not necessarily imply near military defeat. A government can continue a war for years of neglecting the needs of the civilian population. Borrowing or focusing on military production. The larger question is whether and for how long such a strategy will be feasible for the government and if the costs are going to alter the government's actions. Serious economic problems can even fail to cause political change. If the leadership is able to retain its control. I would rather consider the capacity for replacement, manpower and finances for the long-term rather than forecast a defeat because of economic factors.

Wars are usually fought for money: new markets, sources of material resources, and the property of defeated countries. Russia, above all, has lost the enormous European market that fed it for decades, and this market is lost to it, if not forever, then for a very long time.

We see that this thread is 6 months+ old now yet the war is still in full swing, but it has gone through some interesting stages since then. Russia was grinding additional land out of Ukraine slowly (at great loss to Russia) but that seems to have slowed down a lot lately. The best development has been Ukraine hitting all of Russias fuel processing capacity and also major data centers used to run a lot of infrastructure in Russia. These two things are having a massive impact on the Russian war machine and the average person. Their version of Amazon and Instagram have had outages, with lots of stock burned up, which was long overdue really - why should Ukraine civilians lose their lives while Russians just lose a few conveniences. Attacks on fuel extraction and processing will have a huge impact on the Russian economy because it's their primary source of revenue at the moment and it also shows how unreliable they are in even basic things while they wage this war of aggression. They're now useless to China and India who were extract value out of their (self inflicted) weakened trading options.

So does Zelenskyy really care about and love his own people, then?

This war would never have happened if Ukraine hadn't been so naive, falling for the West's sweet talk pushing to join NATO and becoming their proxy battleground against Russia.

The comedian as we all know, have always been a joker and not to be taken seriously.

I have no atom of sympathy for him since the day I found out he is sponsoring kills and support on behalf of France and Emmanuel Macron in the Sahel regions, killing or brothers in Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and lastly Chad so they can get lost access back to the mineral resources they no longer control.

Well, before I don't get it why the west are going all in on this war, I mean crushing and crashing their economies just for what? To see Russia crumble so they can enjoy from it wealth since they are struggling with their propaganda in the middle east and Africa. Nato literally promised not to move towards Russian borders but what happened?! They broke their promises time after time, but Putin is a bad person and evil for resistance?! Hypocrisy at its finest. American lead Nato is responsible for encroaching towards Russian borders but look at the constant lies and propaganda. I will not be falling for the lies and propaganda.
