C'mon people - certainly there must be some better secret society/inner circle chat somewhere?

Then again, I seem to not have been invited there, so it's probably also shit.

I mean it's a little better than the genuine cesspools elsewhere in this forum, so that's a good thing - I guess.

Be that as may, it's no big deal: fortunately I have my AIs to talk to and fortunately they're smarter than 80 ... maybe 90 ... percent of what's crawling around here.

Cheers!

Of course there are such places:

Delving Bitcoin: https://delvingbitcoin.org/
Mailing list: https://groups.google.com/g/bitcoindev/

However, the more inner circles are of course more moderated, and then, it is normal to see your post rejected, because of being "not good enough".

Also, if you wonder, why Bitcoin Core developers are not writing here that much, then there is quite simple answer to that: they moved somewhere else.

Because this place is not for smart things: the main purpose of its existence is just entertainment. And it is a pure consequence of trying to be censorship-resistant: if anyone can write anything, without the fear of being rejected, for example because of the low quality of the content, and with every spammy post being constantly snapshotted by a lot of external crawlers, then everything is brought down to the lowest common denominator of the average user.

It would be great to see a return of Bitcoin devs posting here.

The fact that anyone can jump in any discussion might be annoying to some, but here everyone gets a chance to show others how smart or dumb they are, for all to see. Nobody's posts are being bumped to the top because they paid for premium or the algorithm suggests it. Its just pure, unadulterated text... OK well it has to at least be on topic.

Yeah we're not going to see them here anytime soon. Everyone involved in actually doing stuff is posting on X.

I capitulated, and also started posting on X more. At least there, gaining followers is a fun challenge, sort of like how newbies always complain about not getting merit.

I think everybody actually doing stuff is just doing it and not posting about it. I played the X game for a while but feel I got to a good enough level to retire and play a different game. Its far below monetization but its just not really doing anything for me.

There's too many distractions these days. We have a constant tidal wave of content awaiting our eyeballs. Its hard to keep a coherent train of thought sometimes. The more I detach from social media, the better.
