There is so much noise on social media right now, and a lot of beginners are coming into crypto with wrong expectations and dangerous FOMO.

Tell me: If a complete newbie joins the forum today with $100, what is the #1 brutal truth they need to hear to survive the noise and avoid 99% of the scams?

First of all, if he has any interest or attention towards any coin other than Bitcoin, then he should give up or abandon it right now. You should focus only on Bitcoin and Bitcoin is the only asset which has a much higher chance of profit in long term investment and there is no chance of fraud.

You need to be attracted towards long term investment and hold your investment for long term. You can study the comments of @JayJuanGee sir for the steps that need to be taken to protect your holding and manage your investment. If you are able to understand his comments clearly, then it will be very beneficial for you to manage your investment.

You will find many security related topics and many topics about forums in this topic, you can see it if you want

You are not turning that 100 dollar into a million dollar, those days are long gone and the chances of happening again is close to zero. These random people often see the crypto stories like someone turned their hundred dollar into 68K dollars in one trade or they hear stories like some dude found a hundred bitcoins from an old hard drive that he bought it for like $10.

It can be, who knows? Maybe not in btc for other high volatile alts. But this can easily go bad if you happen to invest in a bad alt.

The forum? I don't think the forum has anything to do with their money.

But if you meant Investment, then $100,$1m it doesn't matter how much.If you don't do the right things in the crypto space, you will make regrettable mistakes.

It's normal play to play around. You lose money here when you have to follow simply ethics or practices.dont call victims of scammer preaching to make you rich in a shirt time.

The noise all stops when you start learning and stop listening to false information. Many will promise you, but non will be able to deliver such promises.

On the same run !

Honestly, the amount doesn't matter. If you don't know how a seed phrase works or what a non-custodial wallet is, you will lose your money anyway.

The real reality check for a newbie is that if an offer looks too good to be true, it’s a scam, 100% of the time. Use that $100 to learn how the network works, not to trade shitcoins.

Certainly.

Even when we view it this way, it's always different for the newbies. They see investment as something which will yield quick returns. They don't bother to check the authenticity.

They see an attractive offer and the first thing which comes to their mind is how they could be the next millionaire. Sounds cool right? It's why it's much easier for them to get caught up in the hands of scammers.

They just have to learn the hard way and that way will cost them alot of money. Just because investment in Bitcoin seems a bit slow doesn't mean it is. It's just a matter of your patience.

1: Only buy bitcoin from trusted exchanges.

2: Don't believe advices on how to make more money in crypto, as there's no way anyone would give those tips without having an ulterior motive. Also, they don't know any better, if they are making more money, they might be peaking on top of their scam pyramid.

3: Learn what trusted wallets are, and how to use non-custodial wallets. Start with low amount of bitcoins to get familiar with them, as you only need one mistake to mess up.

4: Either stay away from alts, or if they really want to, use like 2% of your crypto budget to them. If you make money with them, buy btc with it.

5: When it comes to bitcoin you are better off with hopium, no matter how delusional that sounds, then listening to FUD.

I would tell a newbie two things.

  • The obvious one is to invest some time to understand how wallets work, what is self-custody, what is seed phrase etc., which is already mentioned. There is no investment into bitcoin without this rule. You're just going to lose it all, sooner or later.
  • The second thing I would advice them is unpopular, and it is to see bitcoin as a stacking tool, and not overanalyze how it will grow your money overtime. Once you understand what it is, treat it as a digital gold, and focus on other problems of your life, such as your cashflow, that will actually help you to get more bitcoin. The problem of investing the money that you have is fixed. The next problem that needs fixing is to earn the money to invest in the first place.

All newbies need to hear and know is that the crypto space is not one of their regular get rich quick schemes platform and they should be directed to learn about the forum policies before they begin their journey in the system.

People that started Bitcoin set the bar so high that they made people think Bitcoin is a bubble, till now many people think Bitcoin is a get quick rich scheme and because of that they have borrowed money to invest and the result wasn't appealing to the eyes and the worst of the step is that they went from frying pan to fire to invest into altcoins that has no meaning to their investment, this is how some has lose money that could have survived with patience.

We need to start to make people believe that Bitcoin has high return but you need long term vision to make money from it. You can invest on anything from stock market and for years you will not get profit but a Bitcoin 4 cycle will do wonders but many newbies want to make money immediately. I think we need to oriented many newbies to have a mindset that Bitcoin is a long term investment, maybe this hunger for quick profit with meme coins will die off.

Tell me: If a complete newbie joins the forum today with $100, what is the #1 brutal truth they need to hear to survive the noise and avoid 99% of the scams?

That $100 won't make them rich, it's even a small amount, and it won't grow much, even if they hold it for a few years. So, if they think that $100 is a significant investment and could yield multiple returns in the next 2-3 years, they'll likely be disappointed because Bitcoin isn't performing as well as it did in its early years. Currently, its growth isn't as significant.

So, if they have that kind of money, they should have a plan to keep accumulating it. Don't just stop with that $100.

Agree !

If they expect that $100 to change their life, they already lost it.

That $100 is tuition money. Use it to learn how to self-custody and understand the tech

If a complete newbie joins this forum with $100 and wants to learn what and what to invest that $100 on, then one brutal truth they will have to hear is that they should not even think of investing that money on any altcoin, but to invest it all on bitcoin, this is to avoid making the wrong investment decision because I investing in altcoins requires alot of experience to actually not end up choosing the wrong altcoin to invest in.

It's better to keep, hold the money in bitcoin while the newbie takes his or her time to study and learn about bitcoin and crypto currencies in general.
And another important thing he must also know is that every investment in bitcoin must be for the long term, as to have a higher chances of making profit because bitcoin is a high volatile asset, and there is the possibility that the investment will be recording a loss in the short term, but this could and will turn around in the long term.
And one more thing, he should not expect to become an over night millionaire from a $100 investment, gone are those days when even less than $100 made of turned people into multi millionaires over night.

Totally agree ... personally i had never invested driectely in buying Altcoin ; i was only some minning them such as XMR which was possible back to the days with CPU minning ...

Any ways for BTC it is different but i stand with your advicve.

Join here don't need money but you only register and starts learning many things. His $100 will be on his investment whether that is Bitcoin or altcoin. Better to focus on Bitcoin and leave altcoin especially if he is a new person in Bitcoin so he can get more information from here or asking many things before he starts.

Bitcoin investment should be a long term investment but if the price can surge very high, he can sell his investment and waiting for the next dump. Don't forget to learn DCA as that is the best way to invests in Bitcoin.

If a total newbie joins the forum he has already advanced much more than one would expect from anyone without knowledge in the field, and perhaps it is the best first measure to take to avoid falling into a scam, even if it is not completely risk-free.

The brutal truth is that (almost) no one is going to give you money for nothing, and you have to doubt any business proposal and not accept it if you are not sure what they are proposing to you: you will have time to do business when you acquire greater knowledge.

Avoid altcoins, casinos, trading and other business for now, and if you want to accumulate long term, consider buying a hardware wallet to secure your funds. The idea should be to increase your portfolio safely, not to risk what you have to earn (or lose) more. If you do well, you'll have time to risk what you can afford to lose later, when you are able to make better informed decisions.

Bitcoin is not a shortcut to fast wealth. a lot of new people enter the market thinking every coin will do 100x.

the reality is that most people lose money in the beginning. even experienced people lose money sometimes, so imagine beginners. beginners need to control their emotions, manage money well and study a lot with people who already went through all this. joining forums like this also helps a lot because there are people willing to help.

dont trust influencers promising fast profits. if you avoid that, you already start ahead of most beginners in the market and have a bigger chance of being successful.

The serious professionals calculate the risks, master their emotions, and follow a strict method. The rest just chase shortcuts.

Discipline is the only true compass.
