You stayed it yourself that you don't like combat sport hence it's not surprising to see that you find nothing of interest about MMA and watching it make you sick that such sport actually does get allowed to be operated legally.
If OP is a guy, then that is weird if a guy dislikes fighting. Maybe the OP is not a real men? Hehe.. but I think many gays are in fact like fighting too and they like seeing too men hugging each other lol. And then there are girls that likes fighting as well (I already see a couple though). The MMA isn't just like any kind of street fights that's not regulated, not rule bond. These are trained fighters who participate in it and they know and have by volition signed up for it as a career, and there shouldn't be any hard feelings about it
Yes, and in fact, many likes those fights that are quite different to boxing where fighters can only have a limited movement. People wants more action than it and this can be the reason why MMA exist and got popular. I know it is crazy but some may like it more when the fighters are badly beaten up to death but of course that is immoral already and can unlikely happen due to rules and regulation (thankfully !!). Lol... Am not sure this about gender or anything related to it that may have triggered OP choice of disliking the MMA. I have even seen gays or females get so enthusiastic about the sport, so I honourably think it's not anything about gender. The MMA is a huge business for many billionaires and brands who have made a lot sponsorships to it's existence and has promoted it popularity and it's actually gaining much attention as a controlled professional fighting sport.

I've tried to enjoy it, but I just couldn't. There is something about two humans beating themselves to a pulp with their bare hands that I can't stand. I enjoy boxing a bit, though, but nothing more than that. In boxing, it's just punches in the body and head, but with MMA, it's an actual street fight. There is kicking and choking, elbow and any other things you can think of that fall within the rule. They fight like they actually hate each other, like they're ready to kill each other. It's crazy. Even when the opponent is down, you can still hit them. Crazy. It's funny because these days, MMA is even becoming more popular than boxing.
I would say that it is based on preference. I would never understand the reason especially for MMA that the fighters don’t wear any protective covering and that has real life and health consequences at the end. In my estimation,it is never fun to watch. Reading the commentary though from social analysts of what our appetite for this kind of violence says about us as a society is far more interesting to me.

Not that funny at all because for each sport, there's the community that supports it and that's built up by the fans of it. There's no need to compare the two combat sports because even I, I like boxing more but respect to MMA. It had built a new community, new talents, a lot of money for its own industry which is why it's also being supported and loved by its fans. This is rather about the person al preferences of OP. He does not like Mamas because of the perceived brutality and violence which seemly gets involved with those matches, but let us be honest... Violence sells and it has become an important part of entertainment nowadays, there is a good reason violent games sell and have a huge audience in the world. The most anticipated game of this decade is GTA VI, which is supposedly planned to be released this year, and it is going to be a quite violent game, no doubt about it. So while violence has its market and there is people who actually enjoy violence and contact being part of their favorite discipline, the point is being able to draw the line own what we like and what we don't, so we can focus on our thing, regardless what we don't like start to gain more popularity. I understand that if that's his preference on it. Although to compare boxing and MMA, they're both combat sports and have their own fans. So, it's gonna be the boxing fans and the MMA fans about saying something is funny that the other is popular. Might just say that it's odd for him that the other have become popular than the other one. And as you've said about GTA VI, that's coming soon but for consoles first. Can't wait for it to be played in the desktop.

It good be that this kind of violence has been with humanity since the beginning? We have gladiators from ancient Rome as per history. So it means that before, people are already into this kind of what we call sports. Even at the start of 1900 or late 1800 when boxing started to become well known. It was brutal rounds and in the 1980's they cut it down to 12 rounds. But still it's blood and sweat and many fighters have died in the ring. However, the enjoyment and the fans are still worldwide and many still watches this kind of fights like in MMA.

Yes, MMA is a fairly violent sport. On the other hand, there are other violent sports, for example, certain varieties of boxing. I'm talking about bare-knuckle fistfights. It's quite similar to street fighting, although it's more restricted by rules. But fights without rules (even though they have rules) really create a contradictory feeling. Incidentally, perhaps that's precisely why MMA and pankration are so popular: they're as close as possible to natural street conflicts, when, for example, two men begin to settle their differences through physical violence. People think that their experience watching MMA will help them in street conflicts.

Is MMA really that much bloodier than boxxing? I do no think so.
Both carry physical risks to the health of the fighting individuals and in boxxing we can see, even with the softest of gloves, that each knock to the head can and does cause brain damage, and in many cases, permanent brain damage. And sure, it might not show as many bloody noses as one would expect but the real damage is the brain getting knocked around in the skull. Not the outside rupture wounds...

I agree with you. Because in boxing, head injuries are more damaging. But in MMA, all kinds of techniques are used. In boxing, we don't see much blood because as you said, the gloves used are quite soft and big . Even if anyone get knocked out, it doesn't seem that there is any external damage. But in MMA, there are all kinds of fighting like grappling, wrestling, ground fighting, submission. So any kind of continuous injuries can be seen visibly. But that's why people can enjoy it. But I think now MMA has become as popular as boxing was in the past.

MMA can not be compared to street fight, as there is a referee all the time. In fact, there are more rules in MMA than in boxing. For example in boxing you are not allowed to hit the temple and make low blows. Stop when referee tell to stop. Go to neutral corner when referee is counting knockdown. That is it. In MMA there way to many restrictions on what strikes you can land. Cant land elbows straight down (from 12o'clock to 6). Soccer kicks or knee to grounded opponent, stomps, eye poking, holding fence or opponent gloves, some submissions are not allowed (because of very high chance of injury that might end career), biting. https://www.abcboxing.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/unified-rules-mma-2019.pdf 13 pages of rules and descriptions. Those who say that MMA is no-rules fighting isnt familiar with it. It is more regulated than majority of other combat sports.

Unlike boxing and entertainment wresting MMA is just like real street fight, the fighters can use any techniques to beat their opponents and it doesn't matter how brutal they want to go the fans would still be entertained. In MMA you're welcome to beat blood out of your opponent unlike boxing that your aim is to knock your opponents out and wrestling that you you just want to hear the referee's three counts. We cannot call for the ban of MMA because of the increasing fan base which shows that many people are accepting it but for anybody who doesn't like it can simply avoid it. People are increasingly liking violent sports, it's just like the first time that I heard and later watched clips about slap games where opponents will be slapping each other and people are liking it.

Perhaps you need to rewatch some MMA matches to see how the impact of their hits are. Boxing is also dangerous there is no doubt about that but compared to MMA you cannot put them on the same category because In this sport they hit their opponents legs, knees and fists, that's similar to a fighting style called Muay Thai.

If you were not often watching a streetfight. You will feel so weird and unable to enjoy it because it sounds unfamiliar to you because it's not need to be as discipline as boxing. So what you are seeing pretty much the same like someone who fighting others without strict rules. All of body parts are involving, and it makes you feel weird to watch it.
So you need to adapt with the intensity showed in MMA to be able to enjoy it. However, if you're a person who prefer to be much more discipline, boxing is for you. I don't wanna to compare both because both of their own market.

Everyone to what they like and dislikes in the sports industry. Many people take MMA as a real fight, while some don't try to watch it because of how brutal it has been, with the fighters not showing mercy to their opponents. Whichever one, an MMA fight is not for the weak, if you don't have a strong heart staying calm as you watch blood gushing out and seeing broken arms and legs of fighters don't watch the fight because it can make you feel uneasy and heartbroken at the same about the situation of the fighters. I didn't in anyway enjoyed watching it, because I feel this is not the ideal way to make money from the sports industry
