There has being the creation of more merit sources, ther has being the creation of threads that requires you to post links to some of your best post and earn merits, their are threads that talks about running Bitcoin nodes 14days to 14merits, there are more of these kind of events on going in the forum where you can earn merits from having to participate. Newbies having to settle with not doing nothing but hoped they can send a pm and he merits out of it is just absurd. The OP took what’s considerably the best step of all, exposing the text but keeping the identity of the newbie anonymous else, tags would have come flying and that’s a resounding advice only if they could take it. There isn’t any magic to it.

A lot of newbies are desperate to get merits so they can start earning but they tend to forget that in order to earn you must first of all take out time to learn,
The newbies act according to the information passed to them through the person that introduced them to forum...this people always be desperate to earn merits because they're not willing to know the objectives of Bitcointalk, most at times, those newbies accounts you come across are some people's alt if I'm not mistaken...That's the reason they always be inquisitive to earn merits to enable them to enrol in signature promotion..

Quote
this is part of the process that should not be neglected. It is not an easy journey to be earn merits and most people send PM's like this out of frustration but one thing they forget is that nothing good comes easy.
To send pm to enable a user to earn a merit, is the worst  thing a forum user will do...Anyone who wants to be earning merit should learn how to be constructive in writing..A quality post, ideas,  suggestions attracts unexpected awarding of merits from unknown forum user...

Quote
What beginners should focus on is gaining knowledge and enjoying the process otherwise it is going to be very frustrating to think of getting merits at the beginning stage.
Actually a beginner can work he or her ass out to earn a merit, by responding on a thread he have the solution to the question, but if you're not innovative and you dont have solution to questions, theirs no way you can earn merit regularly..Beginner should learn technical things of the forum and

You don’t have to learn technical stuff to earn merits. It’s that reasoning that drives newbies to use ai to make technical posts. In my opinion, you only need to show genuine interest in bitcoin and the forum to earn merits. It may not be as fast as the guys in the technical boards but you will surely grow if you’re consistent.

They're newbies who is good in technical things, even before they joined forum, so they can improve it here, and once they start sharing their knowledge on technical things it will enhance their chances of earning merit, it's not most that you will learn a technical thing before earning a merit, because a good opinion can also fetch a user merit, the most important thing is to devote out a time to learn and comprehend the conditions of discussion in a thread before relying.. Actually you're on point...

I agree with you that someone doesn’t necessarily need to know technical things before they can start earning merits. All you need to do is to show genuine interest about bitcoin and the forum, try to also learn from other members and also contribute meaningful posts. It’s not everyone that will understand technical topics, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make a good contribution. I know it will take time to be compared with people that are in technical board, but with consistency they  will surely grow in this forum.

Everyone is different and has different interests.
Not all of us are interested in the technical aspects of bitcoin, bitcoin trading or participating in crypto projects.
However, these are not prerequisites for active participation in this forum or earning merits.
This forum has many different sections, including local sections and sections with non-crypto topics, so that every new member, even those without any knowledge of crypto, can find topics in which they can actively participate and contribute to the forum.
After all, none of us senior members were crypto experts at the beginning, but we learned from other, senior members of the forum.
I know that there are also many senior members who support new members, with advice and merits so that no new member has an excuse to send unwanted private messages and beg for merits.
Simply put in some effort and time and you will be rewarded by the forum community.

A lot of newbies are desperate to get merits so they can start earning
A flawed mindset from the outset. Anyone who wants to earn money should get a job. This forum was never meant to be treated as a source of income.
Those who actually come here just to earn money will naturally think more about merit, rank and signature campaign. Then this forum falls behind in terms of learning and discussion. However, if someone wants to earn responsibly within the rules, then the forum has given him that opportunity. Therefore, if someone learns about Bitcoin, forum rules, security or their favorite board and makes a good contribution and later gets some income from that activity, I don't see a problem with that. But the problem is that from the beginning, how to get merit, increase rank, enter the campaign, all these thoughts ultimately increase the risk of low-quality posts, spam or merit begging.

But for those who have been in this forum since the beginning and have not had a merit system and are able to survive until now,
they will not lower their quality just because they do not participate in the campaign or make garbage posts just because of the demands of the campaign that they follow.

It is not easy to be in this forum from the first one that was quiet and this forum is indeed a discussion forum that is intended about bitcoin and the crypto world,
but now it is a forum that makes many people interested just because of the Signature campaign.

Asking for merit to PM members they don't even know is embarrassing.
You have to look at the quality of yourself first whether it is appropriate or not, because some merit sources do ask for useful post links to distribute the merits
they have according to the appropriate post target, not random just because they are asked by someone who doesn't even have good quality.
