If you ask me, i will subscribe to the fact that he likely did not know what he was doing at the time because the amount of bitcoin he used in buying pizza at the time is something he could have easily afford. during those years, there are people that sold land at a meager amount and if you look st how much the value of such land has appreciated at the moment, they will feel that they were at loss relative to this present time but that generally is how time changes everything.

if he had kept that bitcoin till date, he would have been a great man till present in terms of the amount of bitcoin owned by a single individual but still, it is still possible that he might have sold his bitcoin all up before now for other reason. to keep bitcoin from the time this transaction was affected till this moment demands a lot from the holder and not everyone has what it takes to hold their bitcoin that long.

If it's the most expensive pizza in the world the price tag would be in millions, you can't use that words mate, he bought the pizza at the normal price using bitcoin that suits the amount at the time.

If you think he did wrong then turn back the hands of time, and stop him from purchasing that pizza back then, timing is everything, I can't blame someone for using a once valueless digital asset for buying pizza just because it's no longer valueless today.

I don't even know why the guy said it all out, there are people in 2010 that have used good amount of Bitcoin to buy some things at the time, they don't tweet about it, because it's all about timing.

How can you assume like that?
At that time, Bitcoin was worth almost nothing (less than a penny per coin), of course, it was perfectly human to spend 10,000 BTC on pizza because that transaction was recorded as the first Bitcoin transaction, after all, at that time no one saw it as a future investment asset. However, considering Bitcoin current success, it would certainly be logical choose to hold it as part of a diversified asset portfolio.
After successfully carrying out the transaction, Laszlo did not lose any money in the literal sense, but he has played a big role in helping the massive adoption of Bitcoin because the transaction was a historical milestone (it was recorded as the first time Bitcoin was exchanged for goods in the real world), this transaction also served as proof of concept of Bitcoin functioning as a currency.

Was Laszlo truly losing money, or helping Bitcoin adoption?

Well, maybe I would spend some Bitcoin on pizza if I were in Laszlo shoes, and I might even consider it free pizza. I have always had the intention of spending some of my Bitcoin directly, meaning I would really like to exchange it for something I want to buy. A vehicle is my biggest wish for my Bitcoin spending experience, but unfortunately, in my country, that is not yet possible. If, it were possible in my country, the first thing I would try would be to give something simple, or I would buy a pizza like Laszlo did. It would be a historic moment (at least for me), and I would share it, as form of my gratitude.

Was Laszlo truly losing money, or helping Bitcoin adoption?

Laszlo doesn't consider himself to have lost any money at all. He doesn't regret it, and he is happy about it. I think Laszlo is actually proud of his involvement in Bitcoin transactions, and of making them a part of Bitcoin history. I don't know if it contributes to Bitcoin adoption, but I am sure it does.

Well there is something people need to understand, that some events and occurrences are ordained to take place before something would definitely happen and the case of Laszlo is not different from this one because his contribution and actions also aided to the fast and rapid growth of Bitcoin globally. After that singular act from him, people began to adopt Bitcoin and accepting it as a means of payment. Ever since then Bitcoin became a household name in the Crypto industry and the world at large.

Looking back on this, I can say that:
Laszlo didn't know that bitcoin was going to be this big.
Second, what would have happened if he hadn't sold his bitcoins for pizza, would it have made any difference in bitcoin's adoption or not? I don't think so.
In my estimation, he didn't help bitcoin adoption in the sense of the word, he lost money. Our collective efforts in the bitcoin community since inception is responsible for helping bitcoin adoption.

What makes you think he does regret it Fella? Laszlo's already said he doesn’t. So he does not, and beside he isn’t suffering or living in poverty, he is living fine.

And gotten his Name in the history of something this big, Generations from now would still hear of Laszlo's and his family.

History was made by Laszlo because he was the first person who had a successful deal of exchanging bitcoins for something in life. It's similar to a first ever Peer to Peer transaction between Satoshi Nakamoto and Hal Finney. After Hal Finney, there were other people who made P2P transactions but Bitcoin history recorded Hal Finney, because his P2P transaction with Satoshi Nakamoto was a first ever transaction like this.

After Laszlo made that 2 pizza trade, he made other pizza trades with the other people but names of the others were not known.
