Most people don’t hate taxes

Relying solely on a salary might be sufficient in a country with a high standard of living, but I believe there are very few such countries in the world. In countries with a lower standard of living, you would almost certainly need to either work two jobs or start a business to earn more, should the need arise. Yes, you would pay more taxes in that scenario, but you would also earn more. It all depends on your ambitions and goals, and whether or not this is something you need.

Many people are ready to pay tax and not trying to avoid it. What kills peoples mindset into not wanting to actually heed to it is the poor government mismanagement of funds. When the government make good use of this funds into making life easier for the taxpayers, then the taxpayers won’t see it a big deal to pay or try to avoid paying the tax.

The fact that many people are now looking for alternative to their sources of income despite government increments in salaries and minimum wage, it shows that the value of their money is not seen enough and the increment in minimum wage also resulted in increment in tax. Many people are just managing and not really feeling the move of their taxes which should be felt by all citizens.

Government mismanagement is not the only reason that people are trying to avoid paying taxes, in different countries there are businesses and individuals the evade taxes just to increase their profit even when public services are pretty good.
It is the Civic responsibility of a person to pay the taxes because the funds are used for the health care, infrastructure, education and for the public safety, there are governments not being transparent while the government should certainly be transparent and that they should be answerable for how they are using the taxes and similarly every citiezen also has a responsibility to pay their part instead of not paying or if you think to pay the taxes due to disssatisfaction everyone should continue to meet their legal obligation.

When I paid taxes for the first time I did it without any hatred. I saw paying taxes as my obligation to my country. However, as I grew older and saw how my country manages the tax revenue, I became disappointed. Now, every year when I pay my taxes I can't help but feel disappointed.

I guess most people don't like taxes ever since the old times, especially those who taxed from everything, both business man and ordinary salary guy, those who taxed 12% and above, then those who live on countries where their government only do bare minimum. You will really feel the same sentiment of those people. And yet, those who have in power, rich businessman who are aligned to some politics can easily evade taxes legally.

I also think no one likes paying taxes, especially in countries where it's not 12 percent, but 30 percent or more. For example, these are countries with progressive tax rates for the wealthy. And people don't care about all this talk about taxes being necessary to live in a civilized society.
 These words don't motivate anyone because we know politicians steal and the rich cheat and don't pay, and ordinary people ask: why should we give up this money? And while businessmen or cryptocurrencies can cheat, those who work officially are still deprived of 12 percent.

30%? That's the worst place to live with. Most countries who ask higher tax percentage are most probably have corrupt officials or most of the officials are corrupt. And countries with low percentage tax have mostly have great transportation system, healthcare, education and many more benefits than those with higher tax rate. I

as there's no way that you can avoid that taxes as anything that circulating that's being paid with real cash do have taxes aside from those illegal as they are not being detected or tax not being implemented, similar to what you said, people hates those who have the control on how they are using and spending those taxes that being collected, in most third world places those taxes are being corrupted so instead being used for the needs of the people they compensated themselves by using their authority to suck those money to whatever form that they can take.

That is the thing that is mentioned, it's not the taxes that we hate, it is the way it's used. Right now, with the amount of taxes we pay, we should be able to get as much as Norway does for its citizens, but we can't.

And for that reason, I feel like things will not get any better for me and why would I pay taxes for something that I will gain nothing from? The problem was never the taxes, it was always the way it was wasted.

And still people don't have any authority to question or to resist from paying it, like what I've said anything that involves legal transactions usually are taxable no matter what the government will keep it, as a citizen what you can hope is there's portions of that taxes to be use for the right projects, useful one for every citizens of that said places, else, you'll just see those in powers who actively enjoying the money of the people for their own personal usages.

Yeah in a country where taxes are not used well it makes the people living in it hate to pay taxes because they feel that the money is just being kept by those corrupt officials and is not used to benefit the people which is the purpose of it also it makes me disappointed because a lot of people are struggling. I hope that the taxes which the people are fairly paying should be used for the people like using it for the community, provide services that aids people, for economic growth of the country.

The government spends money on your behalf, but if it doesn't set the budget correctly and spends money on unnecessary things, the taxes you pay go to waste. In many countries, governments are criticized for failing to use the taxes people pay properly. That's why people don't like paying taxes, because they think the money they pay is being misused.

If the government takes your tax money and spends $5 on a job it could do for $3, and pockets the remaining $2 for its cronies, you need to speak up. Unfortunately this type of corruption is almost everywhere.

Many people don't mind paying taxes because it is their civic responsibilities to help generate funds for their governments so there would be smooth running in their economy, without money there is no how a government can function effectively. If a government is running their economy very well where social amenities and security would be working very well and I'm sure that income earners would be happy to be a part of it by doing the needful.

But this is not obtainable in many countries where corrupt politicians embezzles public funds to the extent that it is obvious to everybody, you don't expect people to pay taxes from their hard earned money in a dilapidated economy because of neglect as a result of corruption. Sadly in these types of economies no matter the amount of taxes and foreign aids that they get the economy will continue to be worse off.

Most people can tolerate taxes because they understand governments need revenue which is understandable.

That is if the tax collected is used for the people and not for family members. Corruption is one factor that discourage certain people from paying tax especially if the government manipulates the system.

It will be understandable if government is also providing high level paying jobs that will help to sustain individuals after paying tax and to stop double taxing.

Yes government need revenue but not to the detriment of the people because the primary aim of government is to protect life and property but if that responsibility is not taken care of then the people will no longer keep paying tax, they will evade tax where government fails in the responsibility of security, social amenities etc.
