Will a win by your club eliminate the financial loss? Anyway, it will depend on how committed you are to a club. For me, winning money is more important than my club winning. I can easily bet against the club I support if I think they will lose the game. Club loyalty could bring losses, mainly when the club you support is not doing well. I need money more than the joy or excitement that follows club victories.

I like to gamble with small amounts of money because I can afford to lose gambling is mainly for entertainment and not for quick money. We cannot be completely confirm about winning or losing through gambling because the result depends on luck. However, if the opponent team is very strong when playing with my favorite team and I can guess that they have a high chance of winning then I will definitely bet on the opponent team instead of my favorite team. No matter how much we gamble for entertainment no one wants to lose money knowingly but if the favorite team and the opponent team are equally strong then I will definitely choose my favorite team and enjoy the whole game to the end.

This is not a win-win situation.  As a fan, the win-win situation is the one that your team win and yout bet win.  I think they call this a fan-hedge since even if our favorite team losses, we still win the bet and vice versa.

I am always rational in my betting, if I see that my favorite team has no chance of winning, I will bet on the opponent.  Why miss the opportunity of a high percentage win just because it is against our favorite team?  We must always control our emotions when it comes to betting, our favorite team can't give a loyalty bonus  .

Normally when I bet on something I don't think about my favorite team, I think about which team I bet on to win. Because any team can be my favorite team, I enjoy their game but I don't want to lose money for them. I always bet for fun but that doesn't mean I won't try to win. Even though making a profit is not our main goal, winning is our attitude. We all want to win. No one wants to place a bet to lose. No one places a bet with the intention of losing. Winning is the success of the bet. I believe this.

It's a biased call, most of the time. We are just switching to another team, which is not our favorite because we experienced many losses from them. It's wrong. It's not an analysis. It's a revenge-type bet that most of the time doesn't end well for the bettor.

Whatever happens, we are betting for the team that we are making a profit and not because we are arranged to make a bet that is against the flow. Rarely will it end up right. But most of the time, it's a bet that we took because we got frustrated with our own first bet, and we will try to use a different approach.
It may be right because it's not blind betting. But it could also be wrong because it's revenge betting.

I was thinking about a slightly different approach. It often happens that I choose a bet, I feel like I made a good choice, place the bet, but in the end my team and my bet lose. This happens quite often, so sometimes I’ve thought about betting against myself.

For example, I choose a bet that I really like. Most of the time I choose odds that are lower than the odds for the opponent, and it still happens that my bet loses. I think that if I had bet against myself, I would have won and gotten much higher odds.

But honestly, it’s hard to bet against yourself on an underdog, it feels like those bets don’t make sense. Why would I bet on something if I don’t actually believe it’s going to win?

My point is that a gambler can bet against his favorite team if he does it to make money on the bet. If he bets against his favorite team, he can console himself if his favorite team wins the match. But no one consciously wants to lose money. That is why they will support their favorite team. If they lose, they will be forced to accept it. There are some gamblers who give more priority to money than their favorite team. They will give priority to winning the bet at any cost. I usually do not bet against my favorite team. If there is a possibility of my favorite team losing, I avoid that bet.

It’s true that there’s a sense of reluctance when deciding to bet on the opposing team instead of your favorite.

The main goal of sports betting is to secure a win, in other words, to profit from that victory. However, there may be matches where we believe our favorite team has a slim chance of winning. The reasons could be that the favorite has lost more often in past encounters, is currently in poor form, or is at the bottom of the standings, etc. No matter how much we love our favorite team, we must also think realistically, profit is profit.

Honestly, I don't want to lose my money so easily and the team I like is not the strongest team. So I bet based on statistics to reduce the chances of losing my money. In that case, if my favorite team is playing against a team that is less strong than my favorite team, I bet on my favorite team, but if my favorite team is playing against a team that is stronger than my favorite team, I don't hesitate to bet against my favorite team based on statistics.

I don't mix it up just to avoid the feeling of loss and technically we will also have the feeling of losing for either for the results.

But it can be a good strategy, though but I never tried it and may not even do that in the future.

What I did was if my favorite team is not in the position to win but they are playing against their rival team then I will bet on them by keeping my emotions away because on personal level if we lose money the loss is completely for us and the team we are supporting won't know it either.

There was a certain time my favorite club had such a bad season to the point that every game was anticipated as a loss even before it started. It was a really unpleasant experience as a fan but quite the opposite as a gambler. I had placed a bet on my favorite team to loss in most matches and some cases a double chance (x2) and that has being the outcome in most cases.

You could say I was not losing on both ends, because I had good profits betting against my club and that served as a bit of compensation for their loss.

Of course, you can bet against your favorite team when you are truly doing it for the money.
So far, I have never done this and I tend not to force myself to bet against a favorite team when their performance is bad. In my opinion, gambling should not be forced and I believe this is something every gambler ought to consider if they do not wish to lose money in vain. If your favorite team isn't in their best form, the best option is not to bet on that match.

Yeah, I heard that most gamblers use it as, for them, it's an escape plan for getting double pain. But you know this strategy is also dangerous for those who are losing, they just bet on the opposite team, but they forget that in a losing streak, they are still continuing the bets. Perhaps when they have some bets in loss, they have to stop to prevent further loss. What if you are going against your team, and this time the situation goes beyond that? My advice is to stop for that moment and just come back when you are emotionally calm.

I did that when I've seen my favorite team has shown poor chances of winning. So as a gambler who's trying to be more logical and practical to make profitable wins, I end up doing the best thing for me, to bet against my favorite team. And I think there's no wrong doing that, unless if you are an athlete, a coach or an official directly influencing the game, that would be highly unethical.

With this, I'm sure I'm being objective and able to find value where the bookmaker sets favorable odds for the opponent. And as a gambler, it should be profit over passion. No one's want to keep on losing because of siding our favorite team, we should at least be more logical and profitable when it comes to decision-making.

I always set my favorite team, but that does not mean that my bet is solely exclusive for them. I have all the right to bet against the club I belong if that could make myself prevent from consistent losing. So yeah, I have did that many times. I agree with u . This was happened to many bettors especially to those who are going through a losing streak because this psychology works in both ways. Even one of my close friend did this few months ago in a cricket league . He told me if i win the bet then at least i recover some money and feel better but if i lose the bet then my favorite team still won which helps reduces my  frustration a little. But at the same time this is where emotions start mixing with betting decisions. When you are too emotionally connected to a team it can affect your discipline and may be judgment as well. That is why most many professional bettors try to keep their support separate from gambling because emotions can easily affect decision making. Any how this idea can give some short term mental comfort  but overall  it is not really a strong long term betting strategy. It is more of a coping mechanism than a real strategy.

Betting on emotions is the most damaging thing in the end. No matter how popular your team is, you can't always expect it to win. It's not a bad idea to try different strategies to win your bets. Sometimes you can choose another team instead of your favorite team to win your bet. This is not a betrayal of your favorite team, but rather being realistic. And you can do this when you feel that another team will do better than your favorite team.

I'm not one to get too involved with the teams I bet on, but I have many friends who say they'd rather lose than bet against their own team, that it's not in their nature to betray their values, that they can do anything but that, and I listen to them and respect all of that. If they love their teams a lot, that's fine, but when it comes to money, I think you should think twice.

Betting against your favorite team or a favorite team doesn’t guarantee that you will win the bet however I like to gamble with stats except in rear cases where the stats say different from the current form of the team, that's when I use my instincts to bet. But aside that stats would do just fine. One thing I've learnt over the years is that we humans hate to blames ourselves of unfavorable circumstances that we find ourselves, relating this to gamble we always want to improve our strategy without paying attention to why the previous one didn't work.
