So, I came across a project recently and it had a horrible ending. At first there was a lot of buzz and hype around it, and it was pumping like crazy, untill it came crashing down.

That is no more new to the crypto world. The crypto market had long been flooded with such nature of shit coins that the projects are only focused on hyping with no real world values.
These days developers aims to invest a lot of money designated to pump the market and while it is on the rise the public are attracted to buy it due to the immediate performance of the coins and to the greatest surprise the developers take away their funds leaving the communities on panic while the coins dumps in value.
In this cycle of projects only few people makes it successful especially those with insiders information and the smart ones who are not operating with greeds that understands such nature of projects does not last in the long term like bitcoin and the few alt coins does.

This kind of scam method has existed for a long time, I don't know when people will learn not to invest in a project that they see pumping in price when the end results don't meet expectations other than heavy dumping of price.

I use to sometimes try seeing if there are any good projects out there that I can take advantage of their pump, but this is scary, this is barely a year and it is dumping like this. I ain't touching shitcoins again.

I tell you for a truth that the project even tried staying for a few months before rugging. There are those that rug barely few hours or days after hitting the market. Altcoins are a terrible place to invest all what one has. I believe the caveat – Never invest what you can't afford to lose – is for altcoin investments. Again, it's not a good thing to invest in a project because of hype. You invest before the hype begins. People will continue to look at the ROI alts give on a short term compared to what Bitcoin gives and will go for alts. It's tempting I must admit, though dangerous as you rightly put it.

Scammers will use many ways to trick their targets even they use an old fashioned way which can still works. If you see pump coins, you should be aware and not just enter but watching and research, no problem if you are late with the party because more coins will have the time to pump.

Usually that happened to new coins which need more attraction from traders especially new people who join in crypto. If the coins pump, many people will put their eyes and watching closer and just buying without think that is rug pull or not.

You need to stay away from the coins and choosing Bitcoin only so you don't wasting money but if you really want to enter, make sure you use the money you can afford.

I think pump and dump has become one of the biggest issues in the crypto space, which is why it's unfortunate that these guys are going for it.I think it's unfortunate they are going for pump and dump, as it is one of the biggest issues in the crypto space. There is also a tendency for scammers to artificially prop up a coin's value to lure investors only to dump their coins once sufficient funds have been brought in to lose everyone else money. Unfortunately, many investors still look at only price movements and not at the fundamentals of the project. That's why it is crucial to consider a coin's use. Development team and long-term vision before investing. If the project is just a hype, then it's generally a bad sign. With a bit of research and patience, investors can prevent costly errors and regret along the way.

Currently, the number of fraudulent coins in the market has increased a lot and the people behind these coins are creating new traps to deceive everyone. For example, a new coin will be launched in the market and this coin will be widely promoted, big personalities will be promoted and when everyone gets attracted to this coin and starts investing in it, they will sell all the coins they have. In this way, now many are trying to cheat and many are succeeding. Our main and first target should be Bitcoin. Hopefully we will understand that Bitcoin is the only coin where it is right to invest. But if we invest in any coin out of greed, then in the long run the trader will definitely regret it. There are many altcoins that have scammed those coins even after they were established. The dominance they had in the market has been lost. You have to take the decision yourself considering the risk of your own assets.

most people that are being scammed do know they will be scammed, they predicted or saw it coming but did. It pay much attention to it becuase they believe they could outsmart the system but at the end they end up getting cooked by the scammers. Some scams many of us fall a prey to are messages that look too real to be true yet because of greed we have ignored them and still went ahead to get involved. I agree. What I've seen is that scammers are not likely to use grand promises these days. They sometimes establish a professional looking website, set up social media pages and even pay influencers to make these so call project look real.

This is the reason why it is always advisable to look beyond the marketing and ask some basic questions: What does the project involve actually building? Is there any actual improvement? If all those answers is not clear at all, then it's often better to stay out.

When i see any coin that is not bitcoin end up in a way no one expected i dont use to surprise because that is their nature and that is how most of the coin end up. I don’t use to invest in any coin that is not bitcoin because of what I have seen with many people who tried to taste it if it is going to favour them at the end and they end up losing their money and become a regret for them, i will never advise anyone to invest in any of this shitcoin because it is a wasting of time, i will rather use the money to buy it to invest in bitcoin and know that i have something important to hold for a long time and i will not panic no matter what happens because i believe in it.

This token, ESPORTS was created mid 2025, and it is dumping up to 90% this year. I once heard from the forum that shitcoins are just created to drain people's funds, take a look at what they're cashing out, $13M+, this is crazy, like this space is full of scams and all.

I believe people should be used to the system by now, as cryptocurrency has become more like gambling than ever. Those who detected the new coins/tokens earlier and are not greedy about it tend to benefits from the ones that initially climbed. But this is not bulletproof, as some early investors in many others have been roasted almost immediately. This is why I said it's becoming more of gambling.

Historically altcoins especially new projects have often shared a common characteristic extreme price movements due to pumps and dumps. Many of these projects may appear promising, but their true goal is simply to enrich themselves especially the developers and prey on victims who are ignorant and greedy. Altcoin projects are often scams, but many still occur because the crypto world attracts so many new traders and those with a get rich quick mindset. That's why there are always victims of these projects.

So, it's better to build wealth slowly but surely with Bitcoin than to gamble with altcoins which often result in losses especially for beginners. Almost all altcoins are shitcoins. Only a few have good fundamentals and potential. Some people who are investing in altcoins with careful research before doing that and not in rushing into all meme coins could still be safe to some extent and don't lose their money in an instant those who buy all the hype sold in the market are the real gamblers in crypto they take risk which could take away their capital faster because they are in search for fast profit, game of probability should not be played with meme coins the risk is too much, but some are still ready to be playing it.
